  1. I could get a game for Spurs and I'm 50.
  2. We went with two big uns up top at that time.
  3. The club should really push this game hard in the next week, surely a large Ashton Gate crowd would ensure we get it over the line. Super League here we come!
  4. What will the crowd be next weekend? Must be 5000 + surely. I will be going ?
  5. I watched Galliers regularly and I can confirm that he was a very good player (for third tier) and he was a hard man. He was small in stature but flew into tackles. He could also play a bit. You must bear in mind we are talking third tier and not top tier like Gerry Gow was able to do.
  6. He got close to Gerry Francis when he played for the Gas, he nearly cut him in two ?
  7. Among old pros who played in the 80s and 90s, Mick Harford and Duncan Ferguson are always talked about as the hardest/guys nobody messed with. The likes of Vinnie Jones and John Fashanu admitted that Harford was by far the hardest of the Wimbledon 'Crazy gang' and Ferguson's stories are legendary. Ferguson started young as well, as a 17 year old at Dundee United he was confronted in a pub by two Dundee fans. He proceeded to knock both of them out, before finishing his pint and moving on. A guy you'd be very careful not to spill the pint of if you were in his local boozer!
  8. I should also add Andy Llewellyn. Not really a hard man as such, but he's kicked more wingers into row Z of the old Grandstand than any other full back I can remember.
  9. In my time - 80s - Joe Jordan 90s - Dave Martin, Shaun Taylor 00s - Tommy Doherty, Dele Adebola 10s - Aaron Wilbraham 20s - Nathan Baker
  10. People will appreciate what a great job Geoff does, when the new person takes over. Very big boots to fill and I'm sure there will be a period of time (hopefully a short one) when the quality will nose dive. Sound of the City and Radio Bristol coverage on a match day are great, it will be really sad if the BBC have to scrap programmes like this due to the fact that Tories are trying their best to strangle the life out of the corporation.
  11. It was a big turn around, first 20 mins I thought Stoke were going to steam roller us, they were first to every ball, looked a yard faster and we couldn't keep possession, but we certainly grew into the game. As an aside, man of the match award for the 1200+ City supporters, we outsang Stoke for the entire 95 mins.
  12. After a dodgy first 20 minutes, it was a strong team performance. For me, the best players were Zak Vyner, Andy King, Matty James, Jay Dasilva and Sam Bell.
  13. Don't forget to buy an oatcake for your lunch if travelling - sausage, onion and cheese is my personal favourite, yummy. COYR
  14. He's not engaged his brain, only going to wind up the fans after an awful derby defeat.
  15. I fink we got more cleverer fans than most clubs.
  16. Completely disagree, football should be about reaching for the stars. Yeovil in the Championship was the equivalent of us being in the Champions League. Would you really say, I wish we hadn't played Real Madrid, Ajax and Inter Milan at Ashton Gate, I think that has set us back somewhat!!! ?
  17. We're mocking but this season they have sold out every game in their 9500 capacity stadium....wait they haven't???? But pre season they said every game would be a sell out!!!
  18. Didn't know there was such a thing, thanks for highlighting. I will pay my deep sea diver.
  19. I proposed to the Mrs on the show back in 2008 and so I am sad it has gone. That said, I've barely watched it in the past ten years and I don't think they could replicate my TV magic so it was downhill from then. Perfect day topped off with a victory at Watford after a late goal for the mighty reds.
  20. Are people really suggesting we'd consider a move for this guy??? Next to been seen playing for Enfield FC
  21. Haikin was on a 'pay as you play' deal, so favoured by the 'football managers/agents' of this site, so no outlay at all!
  22. It is probably an overused phrase but, City legend ?
  23. To be fair if he hadn't arranged that visit they may have lost 7-1.
  24. not a problem when we net £40m for Alex Scott in a couple of months ?
