Also just remembered we even have this thread on this site, which is good to see
Yes, if anyone is wondering where it is, I’ve just noticed it’s moved to the General Chat section

This thread seems to have been hijacked by some normality

Thought I’d take a look as we’re in match week.
Its updated from Birmingham on the 5th……to WBA on the 5th.
And before anyone asks I’m not slightly concerned about it, just find it interesting that we’re all getting different things come up and different experiences at the turnstiles.
I’m sure it’ll run smoothly eventually.

It looked like it. That tall left armer looked so out of depth it was painful. Just serving up a load of pies to get spanked all over the place
He's a 17 year old college boy. Fine to give a game to when surrounded by experience and quality, not so much in that circumstance.
Hope his enthusiasm hasn't completely disappeared after that

What I've also noted on the BBC cricket site.........................there are no comments availability on anything Hundred ! I wonder why that could possibly be ?
It would break the swear filter

Who cares its a nothing competition with reserve teams
4 or 5 teams, including Gloucestershire have only lost 2 players

Well just for you’ll have to put up with being the second best team in the West Country.
I reckon there would be a few club teams that could beat this young Somerset team, so I’ll take 2nd best.

To add to the annoyance of it all, we wouldn’t be a bit better if we had our full team, we’d be favourites to win it like we did the last time everyone was allowed to play in 2019.

Nothing more depressing than being absolutely smashed all over the place by people leagues above you. I’ve been there and done it.
I think it’s great blooding a youngster in a competition like this as long as your surrounded by Craig Overton and Josh Davey or whoever.
This is bordering on cruel and could knock their confidence for good

Who’s the Bowler Thomas? Everyone getting completed carted to all parts, he goes for 6 an over and doesn’t get his full allocation. Crazy stuff.
To be fair that’s a very Somerset thing to do, maybe it’s his turn to escape the misery of getting clattered in the later stages, I don’t know.
He’s an 18 year old Kings College student

455 to win. We’ll knock them off with overs to spare.
Seriously, this just isn’t fair on the young bowlers. Hope this is the last year we have to watch this farce.
Well played to the Sag head Bracey though.

Aldridge as well.
I knew I’d forgotten someone

For the Gloucestershire fans who are thinking Somerset’s bowling attack minus their Hundred players is rubbish….
Our bowling attack minus them would include, Josh Davey, Sonny Baker, Alfie Ogborne, Jack Brooks and Jack Leach. All injured.
This is our 3rd/youth team attack.

And the award for the worst streaming in county cricket goes to……..Gloucestershire!

My only real issue today was with the officials. Felt we had a good shout for a penalty and I think they allowed Millwall to literally push us off of the ball at times.
Also the injury time was a joke. As it was against Preston. OK today it worked in our favour but that should have been 8/9 mins today at least.
The extra, extra time is something we’ll have to get used to with the new rules in place sadly.
I thought our 6 minutes last week wasn’t too bad once I’d got on the P&R bus and noticed most other games were still going on.
I know they’re trying to get more minutes of actual play in but I think I’d prefer the old system. Even with the old system we’d have still had time to score today I think.

Happy with 4 points from them two games.

It probably happened in this competition last year, but have Somerset (or any county) ever had to put out a team with five teenagers in it?
Josh Thomas, Alfie Ogborne, James Rew, Sonny Baker, Jack Harding are 5 I can think of that all played in last years one day cup.
I’ve probably missed someone out and not sure if they ever all played in the same match.

Downsy is a bit like the club shop, every year it’s so bad you think at least it’ll get sorted in the summer and it’ll be much better next season.
But nothing ever changes.

I wonder if Brian Tinnion, who was instrumental in bringing him over from Guernsey, will get a little bonus this month.
Certainly a decent bit of work that was.

A change of ownership can’t be too far away, there’s been noise on the subject for a while now.
I wonder if a potential buyer sees a club that’s just sold an academy player for £25m or a club that’s kept their best player to aim for the top as the most attractive selling point?
I’m guessing the former.

Decent draw that.
This forum seems even more strange then ever at the moment! Its not a dull draw at all.
Seems we would only be happy with Man U, or Man C, or Liverpool or Arsenal, get beat, but have a great night that we talk about as a high for years on end, wrap it in meaningless hype, and lose the four surrounding league games.
Deja vu!
For me the cup is a chance to see City at a ground I haven’t been to or not been to for a while. Or if it’s a home draw a team and players you’ve not seen play recently or at all.
Also it’s dull having a team you’re going to play again soon or just played but having looked we don’t have either team until December I think so that’s not so bad. -
Hate same division teams in the early rounds of the cup
