Bloom is a Brighton fan though so couldn't see him buying anyone else but totally get what you are saying- someone in his mould, of his style.

Well I was just going with the hypothetical situation that we’d be crap and Al Quadi could have bought us.

OK, Paul Ballantyne might be a better example. Doubt he grew up dreaming of owning Luton.

I think you miss the point that without the Lansdowns being prepared to cover those losses we'd be know where near where we are now - regardless of the success or failure that that is..

Imagine if they'd sold to Al Quadi 10/15/20 years ago...

How do you know we’d be nowhere near where we are now mate? That’s just your opinion. They only cover the losses they create.

There’s definitely a tin pot mentality that runs right through the club from boardroom to fans . It started to get better under Pearson but unfortunately that’s come to an end .

For the first time (ever..?) we had a manager and a CEO who had been there and done it in the premier league. They were both shown the door quick smart by the owner, for reasons unknown (too ambitious..?)

What was it Phil Alexander said on leaving, "The team is in good hands with Nigel Pearson"..?

We've now got the chuckle brothers running the club, not much to look forward to IMO.

"Suggesting we all ‘get with the times’, what does that actually mean" - In simple terms, get over what's been done. Stop wishing ex players a happy birthday, be a bit more forward thinking. Stop getting exited about a win over Manchester United 6 years ago, its so tinpot. Of course look back and smile, but I want to spearhead, think forward. I don't get that vibe anywhere.

    Just my opinion.

That's all a bit difficult when you've seen the same mistakes being made over and over.

You start the revolution to get rid of the owner and his puppet board, and I'll be right there with you.

Genuinely can’t work the bloke out.

Absolutely outstanding first half, really unlucky with the shot that hit the post & was causing them no end of problems. 8/10.

Second half a total passenger, one totally brainless bit of play in our box could have cost a goal, didn’t track his man at all, left Pring with far too much to do too often. Passes were hospital ones or too short. 3/10.

Weimann comes on, tracks his man, wins a decent number of challenges, closes down like his life depends on it, absolutely brilliant through ball to Cornick & loads of excellent team play.

Mehmeti cannot play for half a game, he needs to concentrate when we don’t have the ball or are under the cosh.

Such a shame that shot hit the post, might have been a turning point in his career here. Don’t think he’s up to the standard at the moment though.

Simply a game I thought we needed to avoid defeat today.  To win, fantastic.  There is of course many things to critique tonight, but three points is a huge boost regardless of it feeling like The Alamo from 30-35mins onwards.

Three wins out of our last four at home and beating a top half side to boot.

I’ve said we could’ve had one or two more points so far under LM, but today we made them back up.

    Big game Friday now.  COYR

For me, that’s a win straight from the Nigel Pearson play book. I give the players a massive amount of credit today. Hopefully Liam can build on that collective spirit and get us moving forward.  He can’t lose that will to win with tactical overlords though.

Out of interest, and I know this is completely hypothetical, if Nige was still in charge how would we all have felt if we did the following :

QPR away. Rancid game vs a team on a new manager bounce and came away with a battling point.
    Boro home. Good home win.
Southampton away. Narrow defeat to relegated prem side in top form.
Norwich home. Heartbreaking last minute loss, something we’ve been too familiar with at AG in recent seasons.
Hudds away. Dominant performance, horrible conditions, disappointed to have only got a draw, one simple mistake preventing the win.

If Nige had presided over that, would anyone be saying he was under pressure?

I’ll happily answer that. No. He wouldn’t.

Manning has been sold by the board as an improvement on Nige though, so he needs to improve on Nige's record.

    It's that simple.

I'll reserve judgement on whether we are improving for a few weeks though, 5 games is too early.

  8. You can always tell when there is a collective downer on OTIB.

    1. Our young players are all shit and need a league 1 loan.
    2. Our older players are all over the hill.
    3. Mark Ashton wasn’t so bad after all.

As has been pointed out, the Lansdowns are the problem, the common denominator. Forget any thoughts about promotion while they are here, especially now Jon is seeking the council of a failed previous manager. The blood pressure will be a lot lower as a result.

Probably only trumped by Hakeeb Adelakun who inexplicably arrived at the same time, cost £700k, & made just 5 starts, spending nearly all of his 3 (!) years with us out on loan.

Now a squad player for Lincoln, which is basically the level that he was always at.

Whoever was in charge of the identifying potential signings in that era should have been sacked years ago.

You can add Liam Walsh as well.

This is like “shit signings” top trumps.

Do you remember the old club shop attached to the Williams Stand? So much better in terms of stock and the variety was much better. Appreciate that probably came with larger financial costs which may not have been sustainable. But it was a much better customer experience.

Even Beryls port-a-kabin was better than what we have now. More, choice and variety. I used to buy a polo ever summer for my holiday, but not bought anything for years, due to lack of choice and stock. What they do sell is tat.

They obviously don't want our money so, fine, they don't get any from me other than my season ticket.

Tired of the moaning about a bloke on the way out of the game who was bang average. You lot still show up every week. Stay home you don’t like the way it is being run. Nope everyone still showing up. No one organising protests. NOTHING! All talk no action. You lot are only happy when you are unhappy. Try embracing the change and appreciate the better football. You lot have Holden more patience. Embarrassing

    You’re making yourself look a *** again.

Yes. I Show up every week, because I’m a Bristol City fan.

No, I won’t stay home, because I was here before the Lansdowns or Tinnion.

And as far as patience goes, I’ve shown it for 40 odd years, it’s a shame the owners couldn’t show it for Nigel Pearson.

Enjoy your new messiah, I fear you won’t have long.

Sadly this is the most disconnected i've ever felt from Bristol City. I didn't even care when Norwich scored the winner today.

Thanks Jon, Brian and the media team. You have made me feel so disconnected from the club that I don't even care.

If that’s true, I’d say you never did. If you’re a dyed in the wool football fan, you always care. I hate losing, it pisses me off.

My weekend is ruined, I won’t cheer up until the next win. I’ve been watching for a long time and I actually don’t like where we are as a club, or what we’ve become, but I care, and I wish I didn’t sometimes.
