Thinking about this fixture reminded me of a conversation with a club official there last year.

It seems that Mangoes cleared about £10k after their fixture with us, and I hope it does the same for them this season. However, when they played the big/rich club in their friendly, the sh*t demanded 30% of the gate. Wonder if they will be playing them this season?

Apologies if I posted this at all last season, but it's always worth reminding people of just how sh*t the sh*t are.

....and it's always worth reminding people what a bunch of lying pr1cks the members of Gaschat are.

I would happily stay in the shadow if it meant we didn't lose our identity and become a plastic club with a plastic fanbase and ownership as they have

    A plastic fanbase?

    We've got a bigger fanbase.

They're the ones who claim that all their thousands of 'stay away' supporters won't return until they've got a nice comfy seat to sit in...preferably in their new, out of town, identikit stadium. Plastic.

By plastic ownership, presumably they mean wealthy ambitious Bristolian as opposed to skint Chelsea supporting Jordanian?

I'm pretty sure ours was never that empty

This was the bus leaving Ashton Gate at the start of our open top bus tour. Not really a surprise to see our fans making the effort as per usual but then we always do show up in larger numbers.

On the same day we sign a new striker for 5.3 million Rovers have a bid turned down by Peterborough for Luke James, the same Luke James that was meant to be the replacement for Matty Taylor last season when he came on loan and ended up scoring 0 in 23....

Well, ok...Wallys billions couldn't tempt Peterborough to part with a striker who scored **** all on loan to the Gas last season but they have retained the services of crowd favourite Ellis 'up the City' Harrison.

    They're coming for us.

Someone should post the financial observations made by Bert on the Rovers forum.

No need, it would appear that some Saghead, who definitely, definitely didn't read it on here, started a thread about the situation a few hours after Bert Tann posted it in this thread. What a coincidence!

Completely true about fatty Lambert though who after his first cap with England thanked every club he played for apart from the twent dwellers  Belters..

Yeah, funny that! Considering how much he supposedly loves the Gas and how he's 'Gas fer life' he completely forgot about Rovers in that interview...although, I'm sure he did mention something about a 'Beetroot Factory'?

Maybe that's his nickname for the Mem?

It's not the same thing at all!

The rosy cheeked Lady Garden, aka Saint Sir Steve, the Duke of Guernsey, deliberately moved his domicile to the Channel Islands with the express intent of avoiding paying as much UK income tax as possible. After all, the poor chap is only worth about £1 billion, we can't expect the poor dear to do the same as everyone else and pay his rightful dues, taxes are only for the poor, not the mega rich.

As a result of his disgraceful tax dodging, he has limited access to the UK and can only spend so many days per year here. Dwane Sports is an entirely different entity, as are the AlQuadi family. They are Jordanian citizens and pay their taxes to the Jordanian government. They are therefore free to come and go in this country as they please, and no doubt have the necessary visas so to do. Dwain Sports is no doubt an entirely loss making enterprise, and would therefore incur no tax liabilities if based in the UK.

Reading the mammoth Gas thread on One Turd it becomes apparent the Shitheads are totally obsessed with Rovers. Some of the swamp-dwellers are even stalking the Al Quadi family, carrying out Companies House checks on everything Rovers related.

That bloke is such a bitter little ******.

    ....and he's clearly 'obsessed'

Spends most of his life trawling through OTIB like a stalker before writing angry essays on Slagchat about City.

Its been said before and it clearly needs pointing out again, this thread wouldn't be so massive if they didn't give us so many things to laugh about. The fact it gets under their skin is a huge bonus.

I saw that, still trying to work out just what we have to be jealous about.

Well, they were founded first....as if that actually matters. Obviously they'll just ignore the fact that we have over a hundred consecutive seasons of league football under our belts which is something they couldn't even manage in their first attempt before dropping into Non League in 2014.

Im jealous of the fact that they are the 2nd, 3rd or 4th choice of a Jordanian Chelsea fan whilst we're stuck with a Bristolian billionaire who has consistently pumped money into our club despite Gasheads constant predictions that he will walk away. I also wish we could leave our fantastic redeveloped, 27k spiritual home (with all its history) and move into a nice plastic out of town Bowl.

One of the great unwashed calling us "The 15ers" now that is grasping at straws, absolute bunch of f"cking dinks

That just proves one thing, calling them the 82ers really gets to them, calling them Bristol sport 1982 ltd gets to them even more, that's why they are throwing our own insults back at us because they think it's gets to us, me personally I think it's funny

    It doesn't actually.

Certainly not like 'mind the gap' does to a Saghead. They go to great lengths to try and convince us that 'the gap' is getting smaller despite the fact that 'the gap' on the pitch is similar to what it has been for most of the last 17 years whilst off the pitch it's bigger than ever.

Tell a Gashead that you think our main rivals are Cardiff and they stamp their little feet at that as well. They say "yeah but you haven't got a massive thread about Cardiff"...no, that's because Rovers give us more to laugh about. The fact we take the piss out of them more seems to give some Gasheads comfort.

    Yeah, funny that isn't it?

They really, really don't care that Taylor signed for us, they couldn't give a monkeys, it doesn't affect them at all...and to prove it they post another thread where they can all cry and bitch about it. Brilliant. :clapping:

So they celebrate a bloke who scored a goal who stopped us getting in the PREMIERSHIP. And we celebrate a bloke who scored the goal that sent them into the CONFERENCE. Wearing a rovers shirt. :rofl2br::rofl2br::rofl2br:. Gaslogic right

To be fair, If City had got to the Premier League it would've had disastrous consequences for the Gas. They probably would've had to regularly play in front of sub 10k home crowds and they might even have ended up suffering the ultimate humiliation of dropping out of the entire league...

    ....oh wait

Gasholes in work are quiet today, all they ever do is harp on about City.

    Pathetic.

    Mind the gap.

The ones I work with stopped chirping last week after they bottled it against Peterborough and we beat Barnsley.

I'm laughing at the bitter cretins on Slagchat and Facebook who were w@nking themselves to death a couple of months ago at the thought of getting their Cup Final back next season...although there were a few getting excited before the Brighton game expecting us to get humiliated on TV.

All their grand predictions flushed down the bog yet again.

Some nice compliments towards the rovers fans again. Summed very nicely I thought.

    Thanks for the link.

As we all know (because they insist on telling us), the Gas are probably the most respected fanbase on the Planet. Everyone loves them....

Yes, he used to go to Eastville...we know that. Doesn't say much about Bristol Rovers that this 'Gashead' was happy to take his son to City matches.

Of course, as usual, the story told by the OP is clearly bo11ocks made up by a furious Saghead who has had to put up with an evening of being laughed at again. Every story they tell on there ends with one of them proving a pub full of 'shitheads' wrong about something.

Not sure what the **** "Rosy cheek faced ass eyes" are?

Didn't you average 11K and 12K when you were last in League 1? - Just checked, and yep, In fact your average for the past 7 seasons has been 11.5K but here you are beating on like you get 27K every week.

If we had a shiny new stadium like you, and were playing in the Championship we would get crowds just as "high" as yours.

Congratulations on spending millions upon millions, on players, the stadium and god knows what else, and still being shit.

At least our owner isn't scared to spend his money on us. Doesn't always get it right but puts his money where his mouth is.

The fact you suggest your fans will only turn up in large numbers if they've got a nice comfy seat to sit in tells me what we already know...that your fanbase is just as 'plastic' as you lot always accuse others of being.

As for the rest of your turd about our attendances, it's worth remembering that you're posting this on OTIB, not Gaschat. You'll find on here that people will easily produce facts to prove you wrong...not lap up a load of lies like deluded ******* morons.

Proved that by bidding £10M+ for players and then refusing to pay the wages that £10M players seek.

Have we bid £10m for anyone?

Surely refusing to bow to huge wage demands is a sign of being sensible with the finances?

You lot need to decide exactly what it is that you're criticising SL about because you all seem a bit confused.

    That is complete bollox!

You keep telling yourself that and living a pipe dream that we will always be in your shadow, when we are now a far better run club then you are.

Wally as you call him has made no random predictions that we will be in the premiership within X amount of time or, like your manager saying you could be playing in European football within 5 years.Or saying he will spend millions on £9million strikers...Unlike your owner he just gets on with his job without making himself look like damm tool..!

"The Wally" has done more to the infrastructure of our club in his first year then pantysdown did for your club within his first decade, regardless of money the latter spent!  The Ashton gate rebuild has only happened in the last year and is his only legacy.

Al Qadi does seem very level headed. The majority of Gasheads at the time he arrived were the complete opposite, w@nking away on Gaschat and Facebook about how you were going to start spending millions on players and stumping up all the funds for the UWE Stadium.

Like LJ talking about the Europa League in 5 years, those predictions seem a bit silly now. In Johnson's defence, when you've got 27k Stadium and an ambitious boss like Steve Lansdown who constantly puts his money where his mouth is, he was hardly going to say the ambition for the next 5 years was to become a Championship/L1 yoyo club like we have been for most of our history.

As for SL doing nothing for the infrastructure at BCFC in the first 10 years he was here, you're ignoring the plans we had for a new stadium at Ashton Vale. The fact those plans were ultimately dashed and that SL then redeveloped AG into the stadium it is today is credit to our owner.

Al Qadi arrived with the UWE Plans already in place, without those plans I doubt he and his family would've ever considered investing in Rovers.
