Have variable fortunes in Football League for years.

Play in a shoddy old groud.

    Lose shoddy old ground.

Play in exile for years, becoming a franchise club for the first time, 'Bath Rovers'

Return to home town in unsuitable stadium. Steal it.

Crowds decline to 5,000 but we claim to be the best supported club in the country anyway despite the facts.

Club falls to lowest ever level after getting relegated by a team playing in our kit, this after our cocky fans celebrated survival the week before.

Wait years to build new ground.

    Planners and nimbys stall everything.

New owners turn everything around and like true hypocrites we suddenly forget that we've always been critical of clubs having wealthy owners paying for everything, especially City and Lansdown.

    Rise back to League 1.

    Win promotion from League 1

New stadium built and we move out of Bristol AGAIN.

Crowds flock in because our plastic fans won't turn up in decent numbers unless they've got a nice comfy seat to sit in.

    Great success in the Championship.

Beat Bristol City 2-0 at Ashton Gate. Masterbate ourselves to death after winning our Cup Final.

This is how I see our past and future.

    Unliklely, I know.

    How could that possibly happen?

    Hang on.

Sorry Flea, you missed a couple of important details.

I think some of you want us back up there with you more than we do.  Really..

Piss off mate, you lot make it very clear that we are your cup final.

we haven't really been able to think about catching you up.

Carching up with you was very low on the radar of the average Gashead.

Catching up with us is the ONLY thing you Gasheads think about. You make no secret of it either.

Why are they so obsessed with attendances and their away following? They are almost as obsessed about it as they are about us.....Oh yeah, now I remember it is because they recently found out that Wally isn't as rich as Steve and they have been left to look like the gift that just can't help giving AGAIN ......

Ok, let's have a look at the facts then...

    1) Swindon Town were formed before the Gas.

    2) Wally and his family are no where near as wealthy as SL.

    3) They haven't averaged over 10k at home for 4 decades, they play in a small ground (that they never fill) in front of tents for stands. They've never even played top flight football.

So no, none of those claims in the picture are 'official' in the slightest. Some of their fans really don't help themselves and its no wonder everyone laughs at them....deluded idiots.

    The gift.

Does anyone else find it sad that there is such a massive thread - 'bristol rovers dustbin thread ' when they are pretty much just our irrelevant and not remotely noisy neighbours....?

You're right about not being noisy...I lived in Horfield for several years and you couldn't tell when they were home, ******* silent every home game which was a bit of a surprise considering how much they've always blown their own trumpet about making an atmosphere. When I was a young kid in Bedminster you could always hear the crowd at the Gate.

As for the length of this thread, it's only this big due to the ammunition they've given us over the last few years, in particular the hilarious year in the '5th division'. Comedy gold, such a funny little football club.

I'll miss them when they up sticks like a 'franchise' club and move out of Bristol again.

I don't think Rovers are remotely ready for Championship football as yet and would enjoy a very tough time of it if somehow scrapeing a path..

Amazingly, some of them seem to genuinely believe that beating Cardiff 1-0 over 120 minutes in the EFL Cup is proof that their current squad could compete at Championship level. We completely dominated L1 in 14/15 yet hugely struggled with the step up as did MK.

For a group fans who've made themselves comfortable sitting in the shadows for decades mocking our attempts to pull off ambitious signings it would be hilarious watching their attempts to strengthen their squad with Championship quality players whilst still playing in a ground with tents for stands.

Here's a genuine question for you.

If City don't get promotion, would you possibly like the prospect that Rovers could go up, and next year look forward to two of the biggest clashes we've had in 100 years, or do you just want them to stay in the lower league and frick off?

Your fans make no secret of the fact that playing us in the league is the thing that most of you dream about. Bristol Derbies have become a massive no-win situation for us, if we don't win by 5 clear goals your fans claim a 'moral victory' because Lansdown has spent so many millions whilst you've had to scrape by on penny's.

Whenever the subject of attendances is brought up you claim the only reason for your lower crowd figures are the smaller ground you occupy, even though you rarely sell out home games in that smaller ground.....but then that's only because you haven't got nice comfy seats to sit in and your plastic fans won't turn up if they've got to stand up or sit in a tent.

    Genuine question for you....

When you're in the UWE Stadium, with your billionaire Arab sugar daddy bankrolling you, what excuses will you use for losing to City and having lower attendances than us?

Maybe this isn't the right thread - but Rotherham have much better away support than I'd have given them credit for!

They've had away matches against Barnsley, Huddersfield and Villa.

Rovers travel much better than us, don't forget.

This is why they sound like such ******* idiots every time they mock our away support whilst also claiming theirs is amazing. No doubt they'll dispute these figures as they don't include all the Gas that, apparently, go in the home end (yeah, I don't believe it either )

It's just banter...We'd do the same for Colin Daniel.

Windass inflicted disappointment on us, Daniel inflicted the ultimate embarrassment on them.

Id much rather be in our position than theirs even if they are doing quite well for a club who are only in their second season as a football league outfit.

Hopefully when Deano allows himself to be fondled for an evening by sexually frustrated 'tote enders' as a Christmas treat for him and them he will have had the brains to put his prices up first.

I didn't know Arriva Cross Country trains now have a 'Drunk Pervert Coach' on their services?

I suppose it keeps them out the way of normal people,

    Bravo Arriva XC.

It doesn't matter sonny.... I care only for the Gas and laugh at comments like yours..'complete and utter superiority'...over us! yep, if that is the extent of your clubs ambition what else can we do but laugh...

    Laughable.

If that was truly City's ambition then we achieved that goal decades ago. It's your lot that bang on every single season about "this time next year", and more recently, the cringeworthy "tick tock" and "we're coming for you". City have always been the Bristol club that have the ambition to try and get as high in the league as possible, all Gasheads want is to be one league position higher than City.

You don't even make a secret of it you hypocritical ******* dumbos.

Is that all you lot can throw at us? "Best players are borrowed". Ouch. You've got us!

As for 'instantly beino better then them". Where have we claimed that?

    Mental isn't it?

Presumably he's referring to Abraham and Matthews? but conveniently ignoring the fact we bought Tomlin, O Neill, O Dowda and Magnusson whilst already having Flint, Smith, Bryan and Pack under contract.

At least our owner puts his money where his mouth is year after year...I think that upsets the blue few who assured us he would be gone by now.

    Wrong again Gas morons. :P

Only due to their own failings.

So  by that (#tedlogic) does that mean if either were to get relegated again that instantly makes us better? Of course not you belter.

You will never make the Premiership as you are bottlers for the big occasions. Considering you have a billionaire covering your debts I'd be asking why a club like Bournemouth  can buy their way in but you still struggle in the league below, and best players are borrowed. I guess Lansdown already has the Premiership club he always wanted...

If you are so far ahead of little old Rovers why do you still deem us important enough to have this as your top 5 threads each day, even after 2 successive promotions and sitting in a league you were struggling in not that long ago under Mcwinless?

If any other club needed proof what a narrow minded lot you are then a look through this thread is all they would need.

Anyway, you can all go back to admiring your dicks in a mirror, just make sure its the right way around as you may be looking at the magnified side.

I don't even know where to start with this one?....

So many mistakes and so much hypocrisy in one post.

**** off and cry somewhere else you whiney little bell end.

You must be horrified at the thought we might be coming for you.

I know that getting the chance to play us in the league again is the biggest ambition of most of your fans, which is sweet....it really is, but why do you believe that your club and the constant comical shit you trot out is anything other than a source of amusement to us?

No offence to the decent Gasheads who post on here but it's ******* nonsense like this that you've posted that make us ridicule you even more.

    'coming for us'....

You've been saying it for 15 years.

Also can they take several thousand to sheff wed in league one....

If I remember rightly I think they did, although it is the only time they've been there in 30 years....just like this trip to Brammell Lane. Games against genuinely big clubs at big grounds will always draw out larger numbers of travelling supporters for clubs like the Gas who rarely get the chance to go to these venues. We're the same when Newcastle find themselves in the Chanpionship.

Whilst both Sheffield teams are much bigger than us we have become used to playing at these grounds. Would the Gas take much more than 400 to Hillsborough early in the season on a Tuesday night if they'd played there 10 times in the last couple of decades?

    Doubt it very much.

    Thanks d1ckhead.

Good luck in your desperate quest to take more to Sheffield. It's your first visit to Brammell Lane in 3 decades, I'm sure it'll be a sell out.
