Just one more point .. you said " to this day from the 80s it's been a piss take "  The last time we were at Ashton Gate was a piss take for The Gas .. I don't involve myself in that anymore because of my job etc but The KFC area was buzzing  ..

Sorry Phil, how exactly was the last trip to AG a 'piss take' for the Gas? Your rabble were embarrassing from where I was stood and the lads closest to the netting on the Gas side in the EE looked shell shocked for most of the game. A couple at the front suddenly became all brave as soon as the 'Robo Cops' arrived. :rofl2br:

...and this KFC thing gets chucked around constantly by you lot, maybe you could explain what actually happened, I heard some kids starting shouting at your fans leaving the ground and you chased them. No doubt you'll tell me that it was 100 CSF.

    First paragraph is quite sensible.

    Then.........

    They keep on giving.

    I know, it's bizarre.

'Delusions of Grandeur' he says, shortly after claiming that we only 'kicked on' with our redevelopment because they had their own plans for a new stadium.

One of them recently claimed that we have only spent what we have on transfers this year because we are so terrified of their imminent rise up the league, loads of them genuinely believe they are now the biggest, richest club in Bristol despite clear evidence to the contrary. For all the accusations of 'Delusions of Grandeur' aimed at City fans this short definition of the term perfectly suits nearly every Gashead I know.

Just visited there forum for the first time. Read a couple of beauty's about Matt Taylor. They still believe they have a billionaire owner and we only rebuilt our stadium because they are apparently getting the UWE . Also we have delusions of grandeur. They really think that they are amazing. With there new Apple clock . Ticktock

Look at this deluded belter below, bless him....just ignore the fact that we were planning a new stadium back in 2009, 2 years before they unveiled plans for the UWE.

We 'kicked on' with the plans to redevelop AG in 2013 because it became apparent we weren't going to get anywhere against the dog walkers at AV, it was **** all to do with their plans. :rofl2br:

We did it because we have an owner who is a genuine billionaire and who actually puts his money where his mouth is. Not a Chelsea fan who will only pay for a new tent...

I can't help but think this hashtag they're using is a joke. Maybe it's because they've just ripped off a scene from the first episode of 'I'm Alan Partridge' (1997):

Alan: I love that phrase you used, it was very clever - Revolution not evolution.

Tony Hayers: No, it was the opposite: evolution not revolution.

    Alan: Well whatever.

Everytime I see or hear the phrase 'Evolution not Revolution' I automatically think about Alan Partridge running out of a restaurant shouting "IVE GOT CHEESE....THIS IS CHEESE".

It's a classic kit which everyone admires.  Except on here.

Rovers get two mentions in this link.  Can't see City anywhere there.

    "Everyone"?

Yep, I'm sure that link covers the views of millions of football fans everywhere.

    Wally.

The Gas have got a bit of a quirky kit, that's what really matters isn't it?

You've got the club you deserve.

Ive always thought gas heads are as much to blame as Higgs was in some ways as they just put up with the shite they're dealt .

    Absolutely spot on.

They happily watched the club they love being run like a circus for years, season after season in the bottom half of L2. The ******* idiots waited until after the final whistle against Mansfield before kicking up a fuss.

...and some of them think that's a good thing. We get called fickle for expecting more from our club.

They clearly haven't learned their lesson. Any Gasheads like Bert who ask questions of their owners and who want better for the club are branded 'shitheads'.

Many of them have got the club they deserve.

I will laugh my big hairy ass off if this falls through for the gas.

The sags were chanting "wheres your new stadium" at the gate last time. Well we have ours completed and you dont even have a carpark. Another point for the best team in bristol! :city:

They were singing 'we've got our stadium'.

3 days later it became apparent that we weren't going to win the Village Green argument and the club started to focus on 'Plan B'....the redevelopment of Ashton Gate.

I'm sure they will get their stadium and it will probably be at UWE but it's been hilarious watching them soil their pants in frustration at every problem they've encountered in the 3 years since that JPT Match. They certainly thought it was going to be a lot easier than it actually has been :rofl2br:

If he was wearing a red shirt and singing a song about Kodjia it would be all "well done mate".

Sorry Eddie, but no...it wouldn't be "well done mate"

it would be "What the **** were you thinking when you decided to put THAT on Twitter?"

Well that's what saw us through 2 tough seasons .. look at Leicester. . Iceland  .. and a host of other less fancied teams that have as a unit pulled together! ! Come Onnn !!

When Wally arrived Phil nearly every Gashead I know was not talking about 'pulling together as a unit' to get through a season or about Rovers being a 'less fancied' team.

It was all about how we would DEFINITELY be in the same division by now, claims that Rovers are now the biggest club in Bristol, the richest club in Bristol by far, one of the richest in the country, a new era is a coming blah, blah, blah....

I'm sure I'm not the only City fan who knows a fair few Gasheads through work, in-laws etc who shoot themselves in the foot on a regular basis with laughable predictions and delusions of grandeur. This is why we take the piss so much.

You wait, when it gets announced that funding is in place for the UWE it'll all start again. You can quote me on this..

Looks like our summer recruitments have well and truly clarified the gap between us and them

we can throw circa 5 million to a Prem team and an Italian Serie A club for 2 players and they are looking at free transfers at the best

"we're coming for you" yeah of course you are!!

Thank God our club is run and financed by people with ambition. Actions speak louder than words.

We've secured the signing of Lee Tomlin who played a huge role in our survival last season and who wanted to come back. O'Neill has come to us from Norwich where he was highly thought of, Brownhill looks like a promising young player. Now we've got Magnusson from Juventus. Other promising young players have joined and it looks like there's potentially more deals to come as well.

Imagine if we were as universally admired and rich as the Gas? :rofl2br:

Has their beardy, trophy shagging top scorer signed a new contract yet or is he totally determined to show them just how much he doesn't want to be there?

    You mean they are hypocritical?

.....like the sort of fans who mock their rivals for being the 'plastic' plaything of a super rich 'Sugardaddy'...

.....then celebrate like mental when they get bought by a (supposedly) super rich 'Sugardaddy' and boast about how massively wealthy they are and how many millions Wally is going to pump into the club?

    Yes, they are hypocritical.

I really don't get the sheer bitterness and bile from the vast majority of their supporters I meet (although most don't actually attend).

No matter what AG looks like a large number of Gasheads will always genuinely think it's a 'shitpit'...that's just the nature of football fans in general, even when their own facilities are laughable for a football club in 2017.

One of the things I think they hate most about Ashton Gate is that they know it's the oldest and most recognisable football league venue in Bristol. For a fanbase who bang on about history, identity and tradition all the time the fact that we have over a century as a football league club whilst still playing in our spiritual home annoys many of them, especially as it is now fit for the 21st Century.

They left their spiritual home decades ago. They might own the Mem but it will always be someone else's ground, the UWE will be a huge improvement and they'll love it but it'll be everything they claim to hate...modern, 'plastic', no history.

Oh I agree, the UWE isn't a done deal, far, FAR from it - but he's committed to a 'new' stadium for the club.

I've said it on here before that I think Higgs made the club a decent proposition for investors by securing a deal with the UWE and pp for a new stadium in a heavily populated area with good road access. I don't believe for a second that the Al Qadis (?) invested in the Gas with any thoughts of staying at the Mem, even in the event of defeat to Sainsburys, it just wouldn't make financial sense.

It'll be done, just a question of when.

I love the comment 'there is no evidence of money going towards the future of the club' - what's happened?! They were gonna take over the world?!

Wonder what the drunken pops thinks now....

He almost certainly still thinks they are "bigger and better" than we'll EVER be. :rofl2br:

Maybe someone showed their new striker that video, hence the 'bitch, please' expression he seems to be pulling in this picture....

With all this talk of transfer fees and tens of millions spunked up the wall, anyone would think there was a bigger gap than 24 places between the clubs.

Tens of millions 'spunked up the wall' by our owner who doesn't just talk the talk.

Even so, it's often the case that that sort of money doesn't get you much in football nowadays....for us it's given us Championship football for most of the last 10 years (something you haven't experienced for nearly quarter of a century) and paid to redevelop our home into a 27k stadium to be proud of.

Personally I hope you get your new stadium because as far as I'm concerned the sooner your funny little travelling franchise of a club move out of Bristol AGAIN the better, however, until then your totally reliant on your own foreign sugar daddy who has already cleared millions of pounds of YOUR debt that you racked up.

I'd have thought that the debt you built up would've got you more than a highly embarrassing relegation to Non League and two hilarious defeats to Sainsburys, but there you go...

It was money well spent as far as in concerned :rofl2br:
