The original point was that Charlton are a bigger club than Millwall. Would you disagree with this claim?
Very few people would disagree with this.
Why does it matter to you so much and how is it relevant to either us or you?

I would suggest the very definition of tinpot is rush releasing a commemorative mug to celebrate winning a league match in August 2-1
This can’t be real?

I can't be right on everything. I wasn't referring to averages, and accidentally referred to the 2021-22 figures, not those from last season.
2021/22….when Charlton averaged 15500?

On reflection it could be the return of Redeye….similar posting style.
Or just a particularly dense Gashead
Either way I’ve run out of laughing reactions so it’s been fun.

When you genuinely didn’t care about Scott Davidson what was it that you were genuinely embarrassed about in your genuinely not caring mindset?
It’s the best they’ve got.
Scott Davidson was our Chairman once.
I mean that sort of embarrassment is right up there with getting relegated from the Football League by a club wearing your kit, no?- 3

Gypos? Lovely. Is that allowed to pass on OTIB?
I've already had to educate one of your posters on why repeated use of 'sheikh' in a derogatory way is problematic.
You haven’t educated anyone you absolute pen1s
Care to explain how 13k is more than 20k or are you just going to ignore the fact you suggested that?

'Hot Air' is a pretty strong hint. Aside from spelling it out in big, bright blue letters, I'm not sure how it could be clearer?
Oh there’s no doubt who you support, your posts have made that clear.
Stating wildly incorrect attendance figures, mocking City for not being in the top flight in the last 30 years when Rovers have never been there, talking about others club size in relation to City when you’re on a par with the likes of Lincoln and Port Vale.
Its just a bit tragic after 3 games of the season really. Still, I suppose it’s exciting for you to be above Exeter and Cheltenham for once.

Do you talk about PL football? I hope not, because you've never been in it.
Football wasn’t invented in 1992
However, we’ve never been relegated to Non League

Good result for Rovers against a decent club.
Of the two, Charlton are the bigger club and are bigger than City, with home attendances in excess of yours last season in a lower league.
Impressive results for BRFC against three teams who will be in the top half of L1, and almost certainly promotion contenders.
A win away against Millwall is also quite impressive, I'll give you that. However, the fact they are play-off contenders reflects badly on the Championship.
Historically Charlton are a bigger club, not sure what that has got to do with anything?
Last season they averaged about 7k lower than us.
So unlike a Gashead to get his numbers ridiculously wrong eh

This is the old argument about tickets sold v. actual bums on seats.
Our attendances and theirs are calculated on tickets sold. As we’ve seen often especially at certain times of the year (ie Summer Holidays, Christmas) not everyone who has a ST will be there.
To suggest that we only get, on average, 12-15k though is rubbish.
They love to point out that we are merely ‘treading water’ in the Championship but would they get the sort of crowds we get if they were in the bottom 10 in this division for the best part of 3 years? No chance.- 5

Thanks for the Twitter pastes.
You can understand the frustration from the average fans who pay good money when times are hard and expect better. Success on the pitch is never easy, treating your fanbase with respect can be planned for.
They've got the club their supporters deserve.

I don't do Twitter so can't see them.

Attendances were given out that were no way true, as said above by another poster loads of people used to laugh when they were given out (it maybe my mind playing tricks on me but I am sure it used to get a huge laugh). Used to be a bit of a joke of "guess the attendance" behind the dugout with my dad and his mates.
I remember this well, used to be a regular thing. The matchday announcer would start reading out “todays attendance is…” and everyone would start laughing when the figure was announced, a few shouts of disbelief mixed in. I’m sure it wasn’t just us tbf, lots of clubs probably did it.
Today attendances are calculated on tickets sold where as back then it was people through the turnstiles.

Why did he “have to”? Clearly not due to lack of availability -
This used to be a regular Gas lie 20 years ago. Any estimates of away support would always have various Gasheads claiming the actual figure was higher because of mythical ‘Gas in the ome end’….despite there always being plenty of space in the away end with the rest of the mouth breathing turnips.

Genuine question here - how many do we reckon we’d have taken over there for that game? I definitely wouldn’t have been heading over there midweek with work, finances, and the fact we’ve been there plenty of times a few years back. What are the estimates for what we’d have travelled with?
200?
Not expecting many more will got to Hull on a Friday night in a couple of weeks BUT we aren’t the ones who bang on and on about how supposedly amazing our away support is.- 1

I think the other factor - without wishing to cast any aspersions on Scott personally - is that a player with a knock might consider their availability slightly differently if they were on the cusp of a big move. In circumstances, it could be that a player doesn't want to risk aggravating an injury if they know they are on the cusp on a transfer even if they would likely play through the same injury if that transfer were not on the horizon.
Yep, agree.
Not something I’d thought of but that would make sense.

If the approach by Bournemouth was known at the time then there’s not much else he could say under the circumstances.
If Bournemouth hadn’t presented an acceptable offer at that time and Nigel was told not to risk Scott for the greater good of the clubs finances then there’s not much else he could say under the circumstances.
Or…he could’ve been injured.

Ahh the Oh yes thread…
It wasn’t just our relegation though was it? It was just there to celebrate every time someone scored a goal against us.
Imagine what they’d be like if we got relegated to Non League by a team wearing our kit?
