Will spend £1,200 renewing tomorrow but only if I can have a “physical” ticket again, does anyone know if this can be done on line or do I have to ring?

Yes. But if you have a mix of physical and digital tickets there might be an issue if one person wants to renew linked tickets and they might need to be renewed separately by the person issued the ticket. But if they are all physical you'll just have to tick a box.

(I couldn't renew my brothers physical ticket - I have a digital one - as it would only give me the option of getting him a digital ticket.

When my brother went to renew himself later, he had a 'physical' ticket option.)

But they're probably judging him off both those things right - he had a really poor cameo then hasn't even made it in the pitch again even when we're miles ahead or have nothing to play for.

It sounds fair enough to me personally.

Yep. The only issue being why he is making the bench. But I think @Silvio Dante is right in that we've probably agreed that to guarantee the loan. Otherwise 'why?', right?

Speculating on anything else would be up there with '5g' conspiracy theories.

Atleast he sits on the bench because if I knew I wasn’t go to play I wouldn’t be turning up, at least he must have some sort of a good attitude

You'd break your contract with city, which would allow City to break their contact with your parent club. And probably stop anyone wanting to take a chance on you.

    Bad career move, but okay.

My father wanted a physical card as he is finding it increasingly challenging using his phone, but was told he wasn't allowed to have one and they were only available for people who had previously been issued with them.

Hi Rob, my bro is already of the physical card.

I suspect the system only shows digital option as cards won’t be available for most (ie only available for those who already have them). Could try and renew by phone. Or renew online and contact them to say your brother will want it loaded to his existing card.

    Hi Eardun.

I'm surprised no one else has mentioned issues if that's the case, but I'll get my brother to try himself online tomorrow, and take it up with the club if he needs to.

I think, having waited for the play to revert to type and it not happening, I feel more assured about what LM could achieve, but it would most definitely only be the case, if we play as we’ve played in the last 3/4 games, or that LM will be able to get the current and any new players, playing his brand of football, whilst retaining some of the more front foot stuff, we’ve seen recently.
I know it has made a difference to me watching the last few games, to how I approach next season and I’ve just renewed with a more positive click of the renew tab.

    Ive just renewed too.

There were a lot of positives today, when nobody would have batted an eyelid if we'd put in a subpar performance and gone down to a narrow defeat.

Given what was at stake for them, I was impressed that we managed to give at least as good as we got.

Crikey, I think I'm going to watch the match highlights on ITV.

  6. To anyone who has renewed a 'physical season card'.

Can someone please confirm whether the renewal process states or gives the option for a physical season card. (I've seen the FAQ which says to hold on to this years physical; card.)

    Thank you.

    Why:

I went to renew two tickets and after clicking 'proceed to checkout', I only got the 'digital delivery' option (I say option, but there was nothing else to click on!). Now that was fine for me as I have a digital season card, so I renewed mine only. Then I went back and went through the process to renew my brother's physical card season ticket, but again just got the digital only option.

Very good performance . One of the best of the season imo. Their goal had to be offside. He was ahead of the ball , piss poor decision . Couldn’t tell with our late goal but looked dubious .

Put it this way - our wasn't quite as offside as theirs. But they get the decision, and we don't. I think if they scored our disallowed goal it would have stood given that the other linesman can't see straight lines - neither can I, but I don't make offside calls!

Might be a more significant loss to the Welsh speaking Argentinians.

(Pretty sure for a while Welsh was the second or third language of Argentina, with I have a feeling was something that occurred in the early 1900s).

I think there are more Welsh speaking people there than in Wales. There was a doc on bbc sounds about this a few years ago  it might still be available.

I think the first replica shirts were sold by Leeds around ‘76 and it was a while before other clubs picked up on the trend and only in kids sizes at first I think.

Maybe it was only the adult sized shirts that were introduced in the mid ‘80’s at City.  I always used to get the new adult sized shirts and I think the first one I got was around ‘86.  I definitely wasn’t aware of adult sizes being sold in the City shop before that, though I stand to be corrected on that.

I’d always been under the impression that before the mid ‘80’s, if you wanted to get hold of a team shirt, you had to drag it off a player’s back during a pitch invasion!!!

Ha, I never thought of that. The ones I'm referring to from the 70s are kids sizes. I remember my first being the coffer sports one when I was 12 or 13. I really don't remember whether I kept up with shirts, but I know I wore a white long sleeved sweat shirt with Wembley stadium printed on it when we were there in 86. I think it had the road to Wembley results on the back.

The source linked is the Norwich City pre match presser - I'm not sure David Wagner speaks for Jon Lansdown. I'm not even sure Jon Lansdown speaks for Jon Lansdown come to think of it.

I wasnt sure and deliberated for a while, but in the end decided not to renew after 22 years.

Few diff reasons but I think ultimately there were a number of games this year Iv had very little enthusiasm to go, and I’m going to be more selective with games I attend so I can spend more time over the weekend with my 2 young sons.

I can always look at a half season ticket if things improve, but Manning still hasn’t convinced me and I don’t enjoy this passive, slow and ineffective football we’ve been served for majority of time during his tenure.

I didn't renew after the Brighton play-off shambles, been back since the season after we made The Championship playoffs.

I'll renew on the weekend/Monday, but if we continue to drift aimlessly or decline under the current regime, 24/25 could be my last season for a while.

You’ve got a load of info there, so seem the perfect person to ask.

I’ve always really liked this particular shirt design, but I can’t remember this design ever being available for fans to buy, because I would certainly have bought one myself.  I thought replica shirts first became available to buy from around ‘86 or ‘87, but do you have any info on that?

I’m guessing this ebay shirt was part of the batch supplied to the club and would have been numbered by the club when required.

With the number being stiched, it won’t have been officially done by the club, but there must have been a few un-numbered spares knocking around at the club and this could be one that someone has acquired and numbered themselves, couldn’t it?

From what’s been discussed on this thread, it certainly isn’t one from the 1986 Wembley Final for sure.

Replica shirts were a thing in the 1970s, certainly around the promotion winning season. I don't know about before then as I was either too young or not yet born.

Once again I was charged for two tickets, the same as last season. There some fans still only paying one fee for numerous adult tickets, again like last season. It seems to be a lottery 😀

Sounds like their backend is held together by sticking plasters. Unfortunately they always manage to stick me with charges for each ticket I purchase.

The EFL regulations requires clubs to participate:

"Further, for the avoidance of doubt, every Club, by becoming and remaining a member of The League, agrees to compete in the League Competition, the EFL Cup, The Football Association Challenge Cup and all other competitions conducted or controlled by The League and in which it is eligible to compete."

The Premier League rules also requires clubs to participate:

"Each Club shall enter the F.A. Cup."

Thanks for that. I suppose the EFL clubs could vote to amend their regulations, but I guess they have a participation contract in place with the FA if it is a mandatory requirement for member clubs.

Makes the FA actions worse than I thought.

Yeah, as it turns out the EFL clubs weren't consulted.

That is unbelievable imo. It's one thing to be fine with scrapping replays. But the dodgy backroom way they've gone about it should worry everybody.

The game is seemingly being run by a few clubs in the premier league in all but name.

It's elitist, arrogant, scummy. And not to benefit of football as a whole in this country.

The FA should be thoroughly ashamed by this. They are supposed to be the governing body. They are clearly not fit for purpose.

Teams can opt out of the fa cup if they feel that strongly about it.

I’ve often wondered that too. No idea why. It was the only kit of the 1980s not to have the robin badge, and it was first worn in 1983 so a year after our near extinction. There had been at least one kit before then that had the badge so it wasn’t as if it was the first kit under the new company. I was only 8 years old so only have vague memories of City’s early-80s era.

I never even remember realising this - I'm sure it was obvious but I don't think it caused a fuss. Obs if we had the internet back then there'd be a 500 page thread of outrage on yeoldeotib.com
