It's an uncomfortable truth that what he will have ended up losing annually, once he sells the club, as a percentage of his overall wealth will very likely be similar in many cases to the percentage of their wealth that most fans put into the club in the form of season tickets, merchandising and the like every season. Some of our fans on minimum wage will be putting in (not investing) a far greater percentage of their "wealth".
I don't know about tax breaks but I do know that owning a football club as a billionaire will lead you to meet people and open doors to pursue other interests in your life that are not necessarily quantifiable in simple money terms. I also know that Steve's money will be working very well for him so if he pumps £15m of his own dosh into the club this year he will almost certainly be spending money that is effectively "Investment gain".
It's not about being ungrateful, it's just recognising that a local billionaire has CHOSEN to do something with his money that HE WANTED TO DO, WASN'T FORCED TO DO and ultimately will cost him around the same, in proportion terms, as any hobby that people on this board pursue. The main difference is that in the pursuit of my hobby I'm not able to turn round and say "it's mine"................
As I've said before, if I had Steve's investment nous and was a billionaire, I would 100% be happy to buy the thing off him and waste a couple of hundred million doing something I would love doing.......I don't though. I'm sure quite a few on here would do the same.
I'd be signing up any decent players Rovers produce (hopefully getting them to run down their contracts) or want to sign, and loaning them out to their close rivals.
You can rest assured that under my stewardship I'd just mess with the Gas, and the City team would go to rack and ruin.
Actually, hold that thought. I could probably do more damage by taking them over directly.

Was certainly trying to be positive / open-minded.
I hadn’t spent any real time posting my thoughts on OTIB about who the manager would be, because I knew whoever it was I’d be able to spin it, so I wanted to avoid that. @Harry had done his LM appraisal earlier, so I sat and waited for it to become an almost “done deal” before putting my thoughts on twitter (replicated on here).
I guess my disappointments on his tenure so far focus on the things I thought an “on the grass” coach would improve, but haven’t improved, in some cases gotten worse - no hugely, but enough. Now is not the time to go through it all again. He will be here next season, I hope he creates improvement / progress, not just in the team, but in his own skillset too.
End of season is where he could do with a mentor to help him analyse his own performance, agree what's working well, and suggest areas for improvement, and an implementation plan.
Is Tins going to (or able) to do that? Cus if things get left as they are, he'll probably end up making the same mistakes next season. For example, Knight in wrong role, exclusively one upfront, sometimes playing too conservatively, taking too much notice of what the opposition are going to do, and combating that, instead of giving them problems with combating us.

If you want decent opposition that might be happy to play us and is realistic to the style of play we will encounter in the Championship then get up to Scotland and play against Rangers and Celtic.........
We will obviously have the usual Newport, Cheltenham, Swindon and Exeter fixtures with Aldershot sprinkled in. If people want a Prem team at the Gate the pond we would be fishing in would include Luton, Palace, Forest and Bournemouth. The problem with playing Prem teams is they all want you to cover their expenses for the "privilege" of playing them (which probably won't be covered by 7K watching us play Luton).
Can you imagine the meltdown on here if some posters found out we we paying Bournemouth or Luton to play us. Apoplectic.

The City fans?
Nah, the Pompey fans in the enclosure. I'm not sure whether he had lost an element of city fans by that time.

No one in your league will want to play you - properly at least. Prem oppo will be on lucrative pre season tours, or will demand a big fee, or send squad playets/u21s.
Decent L1 teams are probably the best we'll end up with.

It actually makes me feel the opposite
it’s a bit like when I last when sofa shopping, everytime I walked in the shop I got harassed by the sales staff so I just left.
They do that to put off shoplifters don't they?
Maybe they thought you you were doing to stick a nice 3 seater down your trousers and do a runner?

What a load of tosh tonight all about the womens team Dave pottier was on briefly but so say a bad line had to turn off very disapointing. .
As soon as they said it was going to be mainly about City women I turned off. Not that I dislike them - hell, I watched the entire 90 mins on Sky yesterday - but I'm only inerested in non matchday mens team discussion.

I expect Burnley to come down and probably look to get value from him on the pitch rather than sell him.
He doesn't look great in a City shirt - he's been underwhelming at best.
I imagine Burnley are well aware of his limitations, and will look to get value by duping a club into signing him at an inflated price.
We really need to up our recruitment game, as @Davefevs says, there will be better options available.

His previous interviews haven't been that insightful to be honest. It'd be the usual babble.
'It's my club.'
Hearing from Steve Lansdown would not do anything for ST renewals.

Sadly, it's down to 3 things. The coaching and tactics have made it very hard to get results. I can't see LS learning a great deal from this and rebuilding next season. I would get a new coach. The players are simply not good enough for WPL. When you come up against seasoned internationals every week then it's tough. This leads on to the final point. Investment, recruitment and development. If Bristol Sport is serious about a WPL team then it will cost.
The women's team are a subsidiary of the men's team, and you need look no further than Gavin Marshall/Jon Lansdown--> Steve Lansdown. Guaranteed they'll be spending as little as possible next season. But good news, they won't need to scuff up the Ashton Gate pitch 11 times.

Every time I flick over there another goal down , it must be soul destroying playing for city ladies , they seem to get battered every week , even when the scores are only 2 or 3 they seem to spend nearly all game defending , it’s as if anything below 3 is a victory ,
if the funding isn’t there by city ( which it obviously isn’t ) no point in being in the prem league of ladies football far to big a gap for them , they really can’t enjoy it
City chose not to fund it properly, which is absolutely pathetic if you ask me.
I do genuinely feel sorry for our girls, most of whom are being asked to do a job beyond them.
If we ever get to the Prem, don't be too shocked if a similar investment strategy is implemented.

The other thing to note is that if we had VAR, it almost certainly wouldn't have got involved with that one whether she'd given it or not.
I thought they look at all potential penalty decisions?

I bumped into a good mate yesterday, while I feel sorry for him and I think they would feel a little robbed over the 90. If it's a Pen it's a Pen regardless of time or situation.
The minute a Pen is denied because one team is in a relegation fight , that's when we might as well give up and go home.Oh I get that, but from what I'd seen in the previous 94:30 I felt fairly safe the game was over.
Just looked on the BBC;90'+1' Delay in match because of an injury Michal Helik (Huddersfield Town).
90'+2'. Delay over. They are ready to continue.
+ 1 minute *
90'+5'. Substitution, Huddersfield Town. Oliver Turton replaces Sorba Thomas.
+ 30 seconds
90'+6' Delay in match because of an injury Ross McCrorie (Bristol City).
90'+7' Delay over. They are ready to continue.
+ 1 minute
That would take us to 97:30 without allowing for time wasting the Ref felt deserved adding. The Pen is given as 90 + 9 , so not massively over and then 2 bookings after the Pen is given and all the usual malarky surrounding it makes up the rest.
I don't often leave early, and whenever I have it is usually the 30 seconds or so is blown before I reach the concourse , lesson learned .Good analysis. I remember their keeper taking about a minute to take a goal kick - maybe that was in normal time though: it had Brum keeper 2017 vibes about it!
Remember though, like my brother, if you'd have stayed in your seat it would have ended 0-1. Thank you for your service.

It wasn't hsrsh for me the Bournemouth player moves his arm towards the ball. The one at the end is probably just outside.
Fair. I do have anti-Man U goggles for sure. I don't think he knew anything about it, and it happened fast. But I guess the rules don't care about that.

I left with 30 seconds to go of the 5 added minutes , who knew She meant 10 ffs
But looking at the highlights , the guy doesn't complain much , the Ref gives it straight away and every City player appeals . It seems a good shout , even though I still can't see it.
The ref applied the rules on time wasting/injuries after 90 minutes. Good, although I'd not guessed it was going to be quite that much. And as the pen delayed was delayed for 2 minutes I really don't think the played time was too much over the 5. But I expect Huddersfield will attempt to time it and make a point if they feel hard done by. The cheating barstewards.

Just reading about the Bournemouth v Man utd match. Unsurprisingly Man utd are awarded a penalty but Bournemouth in the last minute with the score 2 - 2 are not!
The one against Bournemouth was harsh, but the foul at the end wasn't in the penalty area, so I think that was the correct call.

Was their undoing today.
Thought Rebecca Welch was superb (watching on RTV), got all the yellow cards spot on. Was the penalty an easy decision?
Bugs me when refs fail to add on any time / enough time when stoppages occur in injury time. They made subs, had injuries, etc. quite right that game went into 100th minute. A ref who applied the new laws that others have forgotten. What was the view of her performance from those of you at AG?
I think I'd give her a 7/10. Not sure about the pen. Was disappointed to hear a few misogynistic comments and anti-ref chants (Huddersfield) which I think a man would not have got in a similar situation. Some of the players seemed to be antagonistic toward her, especially the Huddersfield players at the end. I hope she gave them what for.

There's the issue right there. 'Singing section'. What prevents people signing around the rest of the ground, and why is it so quiet in general. Phones and no shows are an issue, but all this should be spontaneous.
