Sorry to quote myself but this annoys me. If a club makes an early admission of guilt and then recieves a discount because of that. Then surely if they appeal like Everton intend to do then they should lose that discount.
That's a good point. Sadly, I think they stay up. But we've always got a further inquiry re interest payments on the stadium deal and the unraveling of 777's involvement in the club to look forward to.

“Usually” as in he’s only ever scored against us in one game since he left, you mean?
That's 'usually' in my book Graham . I remember he scored for Peterborough against us. I guess that was it then.

Gypsies and fairground yes but not gasheads.
That's a bit surprising. Surely the gypsy horses would attract gasheads in their droves?

Bit hard not to be when it’s not segregated , there’s city fans in the pic too.0
When they have thousands of pictures they can use for promoting our end of season awards, why on earth choose one full of opposition supporters? They've just not thought about it, have they?

2021-22: 15 wins, 62 goals, -15 gd
2022-23: 15 wins, 55 goals, -1 gd
2023-24: 15 wins, 46 goals, -1 gd
So we can improve on wins and gd this season, but goals continue to decline.
You're looking at Cardiff's goals for I think. We've got 44 so far this season. I guess we'll get another 5 or 6 and end up with about 50. Total Football. Don't worry though, Brain will be securing the services of a top forward or two in the Summer, because luckily, no other teams are after any.

Don't think Wednesday will be any different. Blackburn were happy with a 0-0 away point yesterday. I guess they will be happy with the same scoreline on Wednesday.
In old money "book". In new money "iplayer". Could even read the MDT real time, and keep up abreast of the moaning. Maybe it will be light enough to keep up with the shenanigans of the seagulls in the first half.

Guess what; another forum with pessimists posting their fears. https://www.brfcs.com/forums/topic/36942-v-bristol-city-a-10042024/
1; Bristol City are a menace. They are well capable of soundly beating any team in this division and equally can play like absolute dross. This could be an absolute chasing for us or a three point Ashton Gate benevolent evening and there is no predicting which it will be.
2; No real options to freshen things up will see us lose this 2-0 I reckon.
3; A tough one at Bristol,like yesterday it's very important we don't pick up early yellows and see out the first 15 minutes.
1. If by 'soundly beating' they mean by a goal.
2. If we score 2 I'll be amazed. But more amazed if we win by 2. Sammy S usually scores against us doesn't he? And apart from Sunderland, weren't we the only team to roll over to them on their current bad run?
3. Not as tough as you think if you sit back Blackburn, you'll probably be able to see out the first 90 minutes. A good game to gauge any perceived improvement under LM (and I mean improvement against the LM dross base and not against NP's base). This might be the game to turn me off renewing completely! Certainly if we play anything like yesterday. It could be a bit like the Cardiff game when both sides were very poor and scared to play on the front foot (whatever that is).

If he doesn’t get on the pitch at all against an already relegated Rotherham I think that will say a lot.
Of he's not good enough, and/or we aren't taking this forward (as would be clearly the case if we were a functional club), then our contracted youngsters are the ones who should be getting game time.
Odds are LM doesn't give experience to any of our youngsters.

Just hijacking thread to say fair play to Leeds who had a 10k+ crowd for their 4-3 win over Milwall in the other semi.

Max got Star man in The Football League Paper. Their general player rating as usual show there was no reporter at the game (Roberts got a 7 for example). But they did at least manage to get the match rating right at one star.

Can't quite believe that is Lez, off here, on there. He's actually real. Still getting used to @Davefevs actually being real. Amazing. We likely to see "Alan" Robbored on there - don't tell me he's actually a real bloke, too?
Well, he lives under a bridge, and makes you pay a toll to cross ...

He also changed us to a back 5. That's not an attacking change.
This. At half time he as happy to take the point.
When you're that awful in the first half (First 5-10 mins aside), surely you're happy not to get battered in the second half.
However badly you think LM set up the team, there were some poor performers today. That's on them.

I'll take a 0-0 at Sunderland if it means The Gas lose 0-2 at home.

Perhaps a result of the conditions but that was dreadful. At least MoL was on form. No one else can take much credit from that.
Yep. Well done Maxi. I also thought Nakhi was decent, Vyner was okay. There were several very poor performances though.

Made this post as a bit of a joke, but we really are in this mid-table-mini-league. Maybe that's depressing, or tinpot, or whatever, but it's where we are.
I've included Hull and Swansea in the screenshot, but really they're acting as the bread in this gorgeous mid-table sandwich. It's really us, Sunderland, Watford, Cardiff who are the bacon, lettuce, tomato, and er...rogue slug(?) respectively.
It's that stage of the season where you make up your own competitions.
1. The Smiler - We make 5 more wins to 'storm' up to 10 place and wipe the smile from Liam Rosenior's face. Unfortunately, that smile is transferred to Jon and Brian's faces.
2. The F The Welsh - We finish above Cardiff and Swansea;
3. The Winner Winner Chicken (or Vegan) Dinner - The one where our wins exceed our losses;
4. The Symmetry - The one where our total wins and losses are the same;
5. The F Up/The F The Welsh (Reprise) - We finish below both Cardiff and Swansea;
I'll get me coat.

Agreed.
At times like that you probably need a scrupulous experienced agent looking out for you.
I guess that personal ambition could get in the way of accepting sound professional advice anyway.

Yes completely agree and if JL/BT did say something different at interview to what they’d said in public, LM should have spotted the bus he was thrown under and done a runner. He didn’t.
Once he's under contract he's going nowhere.
And Its clear from his early statements that he'd been given the whole nine yards on 'underperforming', which obs we weren’t.
The only thing that could have conceivably saved him was if he confided in someone he knew who could put him right about the misinformation he was fed before he took the job..

My love for this club was lost when Lansdown decided Bristol sport was the way to go just imagine they did this at Manchester utd Liverpool arsenal there would be up roar in fact is there another club that does this? Think I've said before Lansdown had us believe he was the savoir of our club when he used to come on the pitch and give us his bull about our future and that we will gain promotion blah blah The ground was rebuilt and that was it debt started to flow. Something changed for me after cotts left and I stopped my season ticket there after.It wasn't until the summer of this season I got my spark back brought a season ticket after a few years of membership picking and choosing games optimistic about Pearson building something this season. Scott left Alexander left then Pearson and his team and the lies and the unprofessional way they went about it knocked me back now it's a chore to even attend the remaining games. It's gone and I hate to say it. 35 years supporting city since I was 11 we've not exactly been prolific but at least it felt like our club until the end of that fantastic season in league 1. Citys in my heart but only half that heart is still beating.
I don't think any of the 'European Super League' teams you mention give a monkey's about their fans.

Scott finding it tough right now and in some poor form. No doubt he will come out of it stronger. Semenyo though is going from strength to strength. What a player he has turned into
I know I'm a bit late to the thread, but I watched the entire match v Everton. Scott didn't feature from the bench, but Antoine started, and looked as good as he ever did for us, but in the league above.

no. I'll wait to the last minute (22nd April, deadline is 23rd) before renewing, if I do. I'm not convinced by any of it.
I've set a diary note for the 22nd.
I'll never understand why LM persisted with playing Knight out of position. It's no surprise that part of the very recent improvement is due to playing him in a more natural role.
Unlike a few, I'm looking for reasons to renew. If LM continues to make positive decisions with the team set up and in game management then I'll renew, whilst appreciating why others won't be.

With 3 players injured 1st half they have competed
Yep. It's a pity it went that way. We were missing a CB from the starting line up I think, so to lose three starters in addition, and not be able to make any further changes in the second half has really done us.
If we'd have taken the chance early in the second half before we got too knackered we might have hung in.
Well done City anyway. I'm hoping to see a couple of these lads in the first team sometime. I don't see why Philips isn't worth a place on the bench in the run in.

We give the ball away to much for me to even think we have 'sustained attacks'. And that sounds like no attack at all really as we rarely threaten the opposition goal. We still look better when we are allowed (and are playing well enough) to counter.
