    Was their undoing today.

Thought Rebecca Welch was superb (watching on RTV), got all the yellow cards spot on.  Was the penalty an easy decision?

Bugs me when refs fail to add on any time / enough time when stoppages occur in injury time.  They made subs, had injuries, etc.  quite right that game went into 100th minute.  A ref who applied the new laws that others have forgotten.  What was the view of her performance from those of you at AG?

I think I'd give her a 7/10. Not sure about the pen. Was disappointed to hear a few misogynistic comments and anti-ref chants (Huddersfield) which I think a man would not have got in a similar situation. Some of the players seemed to be antagonistic toward her, especially the Huddersfield players at the end. I hope she gave them what for.

I thought Dickie had just a minor injury and he was close Wednesday but should be back soon

soon & Bristol city = 12 months out

4 games to go. Maybe just playing it safe with senior players? I mean I'd like to finish above Cardiff, but I won't be too concerned if we don't, and it means keeping the top boy fit over the summer.

Before Christmas, Leicester beat teams on reputation.

Then everyone realised they weren't that good.

Funny how their manager hasn't been shortlisted for Championship Manager of the Season - a Sunday League manager would have been expected to get this squad promoted. The bloke's a fraud!

I guess they took the gas off the peddle when they thought they'd already won the league. Then before they realised what's happening they're panicking a bit in a three way tussle.

they'll end up on over 2ppg, and that ought to be enough to get you promoted. But I'll have a chuckle if they don't go up.

It’s a hard choice who you want to go up out the three tbh,2 are cheats and the other one has Ashton involved

You're right there. But it's a good that they're all flip flopping around and having blips.

It will be very interesting to see how the third placed team does in the playoffs. They'll be going into them sooooo disappointed.

I think we can be a bit harsh on it at times but..

...The club really need to do their bit. They maybe doing so in due course- I don't mean manufacture an atmosphere, but facilitate an environment in which atmospheres can flourish.

Bigger, more prominent area line the South Stand corner, smaller away allocation, perhaps split the Atyeo, turn off the music 10 before kick off, or at the least then it right down..maybe reading away sides first is the norm now but it never fully sits well.

The light thing for night games I would mention but it seems to be imposed from the outside so no point.

Pops, they could definitely turn down the music. Don't they realise some of us like to chat to fellow fans before the game? I'd rather not have to repeat myself 3 times when trying to make a point though.

The only thing, this is not unique to us or even within any control of our club, this is all down to the EFL / Sky TV

But the EFL are the clubs. They've voted for this, so unless Bristol City can demonstrate they voted against it, they are calpable.

Flint said 'no, no, no', but football is too greedy to care a fig for it's supporters.

And I'm sure clubs will be complaining if attendances fall significantly.

Surely Ashton gate is going to see more empty seats,The club might get the extra £2.5 but who's going to pay on the day at £30 when you can just watch it on TV  it just doesn't make sense. This is one of many reasons I'm not renewing I'm not risking wasting money because I can't get to games especially a Monday night.

Yep. Saturation coverage works where physical demand is oversubscribed, but at our level it just means lower attendances.

A time when averages are not the best type of number to use as you miss the extremes of the bell-curve! 😉

Totally get the point about defence in front of him making some shots easier.

    FWIW, here’s Max’s goals stuff.

Percent Ranks for the bars (Champ GK peer group)

    Squares are per90s

    Circles are percentages

So much better then average, albeit with help from the defensive unit?

Whenever a cross comes in with DB in goal, I was concerned that we'd conceed. With MOL I've got one eye looking up the pitch to see what's on once he's caught the ball.

Remember seeing the original deal details, and thought it alluded to this.

Question becomes whether RTV has enough benefit for overseas (and VPN) alone to continue being its own service or not.

I know it's hindsight, but the EFL not taking 25% of a combined PL+EFL combined deal that the PL offered back in the day was the worst move ever.

On second point, don't most overseas RTV subscribers have residence in the UK? So hopefully little impact on numbers. Also as all the broadcast facilities are in place, hopefully the broadcast costs are quite low.

What worries me is that sky sports restructure the sports pass, making costs prohibitive.

Pretty sure that picture is Clifton Bridge station, Ashton Gate Halt was a far more basic affair.

Ashton Halt was essentially on the opposite side of Winterstoke Road to the retail park next to the ground. The station pictured is at the the end of Clanage Road where it meets Rownham Hill - labelled 'Ashton Gate' on the map.  I assume that 'Clifton Bridge' is situated where the railway tunnel is below the suspension bridge - although to be honest, I'm surprised there would be a station there. I certainly didn't notice anything there in the 70s when I used to walk up and down the line as a child.

  11. Dickie, Knight, Max, James, Tanner

It's perm 5 from 6 or 7. Williams unlucky to lose out.

Mehmeti is slowly converting me. If he continues to make good decisions, and improves his defensive side a bit, then he'll turn into good player at this level. Probably say his improvement is down to the new boss, as Nige had binned him off.

First off - I thought the ref (Bobby Madley) was excellent throughout.

Secondly, I didn’t realise he was a last minute appointment. And the reason being he’s a Huddersfield fan and was originally supposed to ref Birmingham vs Cardiff and Blues protested in view of potential bias so they moved Sam Allison there!

    Ah, well done Brum.

Another nail in the coffin today anyway. What a pity.

Yes it’s nice win but you’re absolutely right.

I don’t think you can understate how poor Blackburn were tonight.

If a team wins 5-0 either you’re meeting a hugely talented attacking team or the losing team have capitulated.

Given the fact we’ve only won a game by more than 2 goals 3 times all season and only 8 teams in the league have scored less goals than us…

Add in Blackburn’s current bottom 6 form and the fact they have the 2nd leakiest defence in the league.

    Suggests more of the latter.

A nice win yes, credit for that - but IMo people probably shouldn’t get too carried away though on the back of tonight…

You can only beat what's in front of you. We've rarely been that clinical in the last few years (although we still missed several good chances), and I thought we harried and harassed them very well, were good at picking up second balls, and fully deserved the scoreline regardless of their mistakes.

On RB after the match, the summariser (haven’t a clue whom he was) said “I just hope that Matt can get it right because we all know that Rovers are a sleeping giant …”. FFS. Sleeping giant my arse.

It was a former player, Alex Somebody. He was playing to the converted. Mentioning The Championship and Bristol Rovers in the same breath should be certifiable - unless the word 'never' is included.

They’re sort of where we were, a fortnight ago. There are a few too many points and a few too many teams between them and the drop to make relegation a realistic prospect.

Dreams can come true, they can happen to you ...
