  1. Sky red button commentator just been practicing his opening lines, not realising he’s live I think. And he just said in a faux excited voice, ‘Reading take the lead’! Hope that’s not an omen ?
  2. Kenya kick it? yes he can. I watched a really good documentary on A Tribe Called Quest the other day!
  3. Koulibaly - class on a stick, FU Infantinno. ?
  4. There was analysis done a few years ago that suggested the later, higher pressure pens benefitted from the best players taking them, as they were more likely to be crucial. The obvious retort is ‘if they take them’. Perhaps the solution is somewhere in the middle?
  5. Classic good tournament performance does not equal good club player
  6. Jermaine Jenas talks about the love and respect between players (at the end - Mane and Salah). Salah looked like he’d rather be with anyone else!
  7. And after booking Fahti when it wasn’t even a foul has now missed 2 further yellows from the same guy
  8. Blimey this ref really is the epitome of ‘it’s all about me’.
  9. Yep had forgotten that, though in his case it was a bad day at the office.
  10. Usually I’m all in favour of giving manager’s time, and the timing here does seem odd. However something doesn’t seem quite right there (a team In the top 3 losing 6-0 to modest opposition) and given LJ’s propensity for streaky results, maybe a new manager bounce might actually give them the push they need?
  11. I said even last year (when he appeared unable to hit a cow’s a*** with a banjo) that we should be playing him up front as he would clearly stretch teams. Not saying this to show what foresight I had (well I am a bit ?), but this has happened and the fact that his composure is improving is icing on the cake. If he’s here next season he’ll get 20-25 goals I reckon.
  12. Kicking a defender’s leg who is already in front of you is a foul. For the defender.
  13. Semenyo is the big reason for Martin playing better. Not just that he creates space for others but he also takes a lot of the physical side away from Martin. This isn’t a dig at Martin, by the way; just pleased we’ve found this formation.
  14. The point is why criticise at all - it can only achieve negative things. There are plenty of managers who just refuse to comment.
  15. Personally I was not completely convinced it was a pen for Semenyo, but even if it was it wasn’t a clear error IMO. As for Nige, I really fail to see what a tirade of of abuse at the ref achieves. Another fine, possibly a ban? A reputation as a complainer? None of which reallly helps the club. It doesn’t really matter if he’s in the right.
  16. If that’s how he plays with no match practice then we have a good ‘un
  17. Blimey reading this I feel like a Tory MP spouting on about the Beeb ?. For the record no, the media don’t hate us. Just like the Beeb aren’t biased against the Tories OR Labour.
  18. I’m unconvinced about Zac but wow. We could’ve / should’ve killed that game off well before then. Andi in the first half, Antoine’s header in the second, Cam playing in the latter at the end. All of these probably / definitely = 3 points. Let’s enjoy the fact that the corner has been turned, we are becoming entertaining to watch for the first time in 3-4 seasons and it’s now decision making that we need to improve, not our ability to create chances. And as has been said, it still took a worldie to deny us the win
  19. He has been caught out position and occasionally been a bit of a headless chicken (well I exaggerate but he can get caught out). But apart from being the best game I’ve seen him play, that’s one of the best midfield performances I’ve ever seen by a City midfielder, and I’ve been watching for 30 years. No really. He was pretty much faultless. Start to finish.
  20. The Fail is an utter bog roll publication but for somebody as media savvy as LJ that’s a very naive thing to say in an interview
  21. Well whatever the nuances of the formations it suited Weimann at the time, as it does now.
