  1. Holden started last season with Weimann playing as the attacking midfielder in a 3 (almost exactly as he is now), behind Martin and Wells. We won the first 4 then he got injured, out for the season. And it’s taken Nige a while to work out this position really suits AW (although TBF he was playing well up front as well).
  2. No agenda from me, just a different opinion. Appreciate the report though.
  3. Think that O’Dowda score and review is harsh, and reflects he is generally frustrating rather than last night’s actual performance. That said he started brightly then faded a bit, which he often has recently.
  4. Scott foul would’ve been soft for me (watching on telly). He does go down quite easily IMO
  5. Nah he lives in Exeter - saw him earlier!
  6. Said to my lad today that TK was showing why we paid a lot of cash for him. Really threw himself about into blocks, won everything in the air and calm in possession.
  7. I think both Bents ability on the ball and Max’s shot stopping are both underrated, to play Devil’s advocate. However, happy with Max at the mo especially given the last time Bents was dropped he came back strongly when selected, if I remember rightly?
  8. Mainly right but v capable on his left. A bit like me but with pace, strength, technique and youth.
  9. Liked it when he chased down an opponent with 10 ish to go and put it out for a throw. Nige gave him a little pat to say well done, which warmed the cockles of my heart!
  10. Never gets any less funny, that ? Cuz I’m not sure it’s possible ?
  11. Did he come on in extra time? If so seems reasonable to replace a player who’s played the whole game for fresh legs, at that point.
  12. There’s definitely an improvement in how dangerous we look at home now, since we got the monkey off the back. That to my mind is also down to Semenyo playing up front - he still lacks composure but he pulls defenders out of place with his pace. Martin has attributes but he is easier to defend against I think. As for Pearson I think he’s probably realistically doing as well as he can, given the squad he has and our financial situation. I certainly think progress has been made since last season, especially given the younger players developing with more game time. He still doesn’t know his first choice side (or formation) but he’s becoming clearer on who he doesn’t want, which is arguably half the battle. I suspect we’ll finish where most thought we would, bottom third (but safe), and that’s ok for now.
  13. Tbf James is quite busy organising the midfield and telling HNM where to position himself ?
  14. Somebody else suggested this in an earlier thread. If he was prepared to gamble on losing to make some sort of petulant point that would be pathetic. However, it would be completely against type, as whatever you might think about him he’s brutally honest in terms of his decision making. So if he thought the selected team was the best team for today then that’s what he thought. Whether it was a good choice is open to question, but that’s a different point.
  15. Yes I heard that. My ‘suggestion’ was firmly tongue in cheek. Good to see he’s got his career and more importantly his life back on track.
  16. Nope I was ok - had a sore throat and felt a bit tired, but could’ve Been worse I guess
  17. Always makes me laugh when another player well out of our league doesn’t sign a new contract/ is out of favour / Mark Ashton talks him up and suddenly some naive soul on here suggests that player as a transfer target however unrealistic it might be. Anyway, wass reckon? Ex player maybe not on super wages / may want to return home to a club where he played well? ???
  18. No one likes us No one likes us And we somehow Think that’s a badge of honour. Danny Baker’s alright though.
  19. As I’ve sadly found over Xmas being fully jabbed and boosted doesn’t stop you getting it (and passing it on). However given the higher reluctance of footballers (25%) ish and younger people in generalto not get vaccinated, I’m just pleased that as a club we have a high rate. After all, it’s mostly about protecting the vulnerable.
  20. Got excited by not reading this carefully enough - thought we were bringing in Simeone!
