The only positive is I think they said the TV schedule would be fixed a lot earlier so less uncertainty/mucking up of plans, e.g. TV matches until Christmas would be fixed at the start of the season.

Yes 82, 86 and 90 all great for me too (the first WC I remember was 78 but of course Scotland rather than England). In 82 I also vividly remember rushing home from school to watch England v France and Robson’s early goal. In addition for some reason we were allowed to watch the Brazil v Italy game in the school hall - great game. I was going to say the same. I think Naismith in particular would have been great for Vyner this season - a great communicator, confident on the ball and calm under pressure. The whole of the back four has looked calmer and more confident and I don’t think it is a coincidence.

Yes, although I only live 30 mins away from Southampton and I work there so I’m looking forward to them being back in our Division! You’re right about the road though as I go the other way to Ashton Gate - train more pleasant (when they put more than 3 carriages on!)
