Agree. Certainly has talent. Did well for the goal today. Hope he does well. But it was right to let him go as there was no guarantee that he would show his talent consistently or that he would stay fit. Suspect he was on a decent wage with us as well and we all know that we need to save money.

I don’t think that it necessarily follows that to start Conway you have to drop Martin. I think they could play together and I would like to see this tried. In effect play Conway in Semenyo’s position with Weimann reverting to the role he played last season. A potent front 3. Martin also brings a lot to the table at defensive set pieces of course.

Agree. To be fair, before his injury last season I did notice his defensive awareness. He clearly isn’t going to start every game, but in particular he might be a useful option as a sub when our other midfielders are tiring or we are looking to see a game out.
