  1. What a lovely bloke......who has had a torrid time of it injury wise, with a very unusual condition.  But it he has fought his way back and seems highly motivated, and it will be like having a brand new signing.  Good Luck Ross, hope u make it to the Euro Scotland Squad, which will also mean you are playing well for City!!

To get him in the team we have to drop one of Bell, Mehmeti or TGH. Players that you would consider to be projects.

A contingency plan without having an option? How does that even work?

If ST is a success here and I hope that he is, its a double edged sword as him performing well for us will mean to buy him will cost more.

Personally it seems like a good idea to me..............Projects?   Neither TGH OR Mehmeti came from the academy, they were both purchased.  I don't want to see Bell's opportunities blocked, but he is not exactly flyimg at the moment, but he is young and will hopefully come good again.  Competition for places is what drives a club and individual players forward......if your good enough you will retain your place, if your complacent you won't, cannot see any problem with that?

Id love to have him here on either a loan with an option to buy or on a permanent.

But as its just a short term deal then I'm unsure about the benefits of it. We've long made a big deal about how we give players a chance etc and now we are kinda blocking them.

If there is no one from the Academy capable of stepping up this season as a playmaker, then it is not a case of blocking, but a smart bit of business to hopefully revive our season?   I am certain that if ST proves to be a success, we have contingency plans to recruit him..............Looks like Win, Win to me.

Afternoon Chaps. Just thought I'd fill you in with our perspective.

Probably the biggest factor in Scott Twine ending his time at HCAFC is the arrival of Fabio Carvalho.  That will significantly reduce pitch time of Twine for the remainder of the season.

In addition to this, as solid as Twine is at this level, its fair to say that, for us, he hasn't pulled up any trees. Not altogether his fault as due to injuries he's spent a lot of time wide left instead of his preferred #10 position.

Also, we will sign either Rak-Sakyi from Palace or Benson from Burnley to play wide right, giving us a forward line of Benson/Rak-Sakyi, Carvalho and Philogene behind a Central Striker.  This leaves little room for Twine.

I think he's a good signing for you particularly as Manning will play him in his natural position and get the best out of him.

Good luck for the rest of the season as long as it's not at our expense!! 😎

Thanks for your observant comments, in his correct position, and with a manager who seemed to get the best out of him previously,  I think (Hope?) that he will prove to be a success?   Just wondering...............Are Hull not sailing a little close to the FFP wind with the expensive signings they continue to make?

Im sure it isnt fair  but if youre caught thieving, a defence along the lines of " tom dick and harry stole more than me" wouldnt carry much weight would it.

Everton consider themselves special but are guilty as charged so suck it up.

Sorry but i find that that a little simplistic and glib?   FFP is by no means a perfect model, and it needs to be refined and reviewed, as i do not believe it is achieving it's aims.  Everton are being hung out to dry, but theyr'e ; other clubs sailing very close to the wind.  I think FFP is failing in it's objectives and needs to be totally overhauled.       "Suck it up"?  Really??

  6. Similar to VAR .............FFP is a complete farce, punishing on occasions the wrong clubs while ignoring other's who are slipping through the cracks with clever financial manoeuvre's  .  I am not saying Everton are an innocent party, but  I believe that FFP is  not the level playing field it purports to be?

    Very good….for you Mark!

The irrelevance of height and weight! 🤦

I might well be wrong.......but there was/is a player called Elton Gomes who weighed in (Ha!) at 5 foot tall.................apparently could perform a nutmeg with the ball at his feet?  PS. How tall was Lou Peters?

Similar with Salah to some extent!  I think Chelsea bought him originally because Liverpool wanted him, so they did it in spite???

I don't know if it is true, or maybe it is just idle gossip?  But apparently Mourinho didn't rate him?  Poor olde Chelsea!

KDB is one of the most under hyped players in premier league history in my opinion despite being probably the best midfielder the premier league has ever seen.

Look at Salah for example, gets all the plaudits he deserves. But for some bizarre reason, KDB doesn't recieve the same sort of hype. I don't know if thats down to his quiet personality or because of who he plays for.

He easily goes into my greatest prem XI.

It is round about the 10th Anniversary of when Chelsea sold probably the best midfielder to have ever graced the Premiership, for 18 Mill to Wolfsburg?   All that money and all those experts, and they let him slip through their fingers for pretty much a pittance in relation to his talent.   Poor olde Chelsea........Ha!!

Doesn’t matter who is in charge, three league games in a row without a goal against teams that were bottom half when we played them  is crap and deserves to be called out as such.

According to Tommy, and i am not having a go at him, because he is young man doing his best.   But when i hear him say....that he is learning all the time, and  it's  getting better and better      , and he  is apparently going from strength to strength?   It is just not true, and it is not doing TC any favours, and as far as going from strength to strength, it is most definitely NOT playing to his strengths............ and for me it is just not working.

  11. Tommy stated on the club's seemingly party line 3Peaps podcast that he was learning all the time from the new manager, and loves his solo striker role in the team. .........really TC?  Pretty sure you will be off in the summer anyway, so perhaps making waves is not a good idea?   OK, he might be grateful to be learning some new strings to his bow, and the art of   being a lone striker might pay off later in his career, but at the moment it is not serving his present club very well IMHO?   The one up top striker role is just not working, and whatever Tommy and LM may come out with, just does not convince.   As  can be seen from our goals record against Birmingham, Millwall and Preston being a big fat zero.

I’m keen to point out that my offer of a wager some weeks ago still stands.
Wrexham to play in the Premier league before. Bristol City

As a betting man.........putting money on Wrexham to reach the Prem ahead of us seems a pretty solid bet.....you should check with Betfred, the owner used to like taking unusual bets when i worked there?  Not sure about now?

  13. Until we sort out our  "Wet Fart' of an attack and midfield...we are going nowhere.  Manning needs to recruit an attacker and a midfielder to shake up our stale shadow of a side, if he fails to achieve that, we have absolutely no chance of finishing in the top ten.  While i fully appreciate the difficulties in the present window............if we choose not to recruit, this season will be a right off IMHO.

    Observations from me.

We edged the first half, largely, however, because PNE was so poor. They were much better in the second half, their substitutions at half time changed the game effectively.

Max made a a world class save early in the second half to keep us in the game.

For me Anis and Sam we’re not in the game enough and when they had the ball they were poor. Tommy Conway wasn’t far behind and just didn’t influence the game. Again I think this game highlighted our lack of creativity and goals, thats no goals in our last three league games.

On the positive side, I thought Williams and Knight both had good games and it’s good to see McCorie and Roberts back in contention.

In the end, we were second-best and didn’t deserve anything from that game.

Huge well done to the traveling fans.

I feel so sorry for the travelling fans....what a complete waste of time and money?

Bruno Fernandez is a shocking waste of talent with a vacuum where his moral fibre should be. The fact that he feels the need to go down like that against a team two divisions below them, sums him up. The fact that Man United have a player like that as a captain, sums them up as a club.

I always thought that physically he resembled a rodent.........so not surprised he has started acting like a rat? Ha!
