  1. I wouldn't be surprised. Millfield Prep, then Kings College Taunton; A* in Maths, Physics etc. and, apparently, currently studying for an Open University (Maths/Economics) degree. Obviously a bright, well-educated young man, and destined for a good career (after he has finished with Somerset ?).
  2. Thank Goodness. I had no idea when this was filmed, but was looking closely at all the young men involved to see whether I could recognise WS ?.
  3. Sorry if I have missed something, but is there a link between your two posts?
  4. Has anybody tried today's QUORDLE? Some interesting words there. Daily Quordle 130 quordle.com ?? ? ???? ?? ????? ?? ??? ? ? ? ????? ? ? ? ? ? ?? ??? ????? ?? ???? ???? ?????
  5. Quite recently; this season, or last at the earliest. The important criterion, however, is that it only applies to concussion injuries. The other important criterion, so make that criteria ?, is that the substitute must be a 'like for like' player - so Parkinson, a spinner, for Leach, rather than (what might have been useful today) a batsman, like Brook, for example! Edited again, as @phantom has now provided a useful link.
  6. Assuming the Wilson you have at right back is Ray, and not Kane, I thought he was more a left back - George Cohen was our World Cup winning right back.
  7. Bad news. BREAKING: Jack Leach is out of this Test. ECB statement: "Jack Leach has symptoms of concussion following his head injury whilst fielding. As per concussion guidelines, he has been withdrawn from this Test. We will confirm a concussion replacement in due course."
  8. Well Done. Very clever, all of you.
  9. 'Phew, I'm so relieved', said Joe Jordan.
  10. I don't. I clicked the link, and there were a few pictures then almost a whole page advertising Allan Saint-Maximin themed vibrators!
  11. Rather him, than this one. Go On, Listen to it. I dare you.
  12. Spectacular, and partially (50%) funded by the town and local authorities!
  13. He paved the way for the well known Lancastrian batsman, Michael Vaughan ?.
  14. St Jean de Luz is, indeed, a lovely little town, although Biarritz is also very nice, albeit very expensive.
  15. A few years ago, I read a detective thriller (Arcam), which is set in Steep Holm. I recalled the name from my childhood, probably from visits to Weston-super-Mare, so did some research to get some more information about its history. I was surprised to learn that it is part of Somerset, whilst its sister island, Flat Holm, is part of Wales.
  16. Judging from the numerous warm comments from people who knew him, he was presumably enjoying his life too much and had better things to do.
  17. To the best of my knowledge, I never had the pleasure of meeting 'Tinners' nor, more importantly it would seem, of spending time with him, but have thoroughly enjoyed reading the wonderful posts on here and the article in Bristol Live from people who had the fortune to know him. It may have been mentioned on here, but was 'Tinners' a member of the forum?
  18. I quite like monkfish in a dish - it is sometimes called 'Poor Man's Lobster' over here - but have never tried it with chilli. One dish I did discover recently on here is monkfish jaws; it may have been proposed by you or, I think, @TonyTonyTony. I also enjoy prawns, but find them far too expensive in restaurants. I can buy them fresh over here, raw or cooked, so I rarely eat them in restaurants.
  19. I went there a few years ago with my wife, and we were both impressed - by the general presentation, the waiting staff and, of course, the food. Unfortunately, we were not very adventurous, and stuck to the dishes we know, and with which we are comfortable. I shall ensure we try something different next time.
  20. I was hearing on Saturday afternoon that there were loads of tickets for sale in Paris and around the stadium. I commented then that they would either be from locals or, more likely, forged. What is now coming out is that the people climbing over the fences/ticket barriers were locals and, furthermore, people with forged tickets were getting through the first checks, only to be refused entry at the stadium itself as the screening apparatus was more accurate. I don’t know whether this was reported in the English press, but there were also a lot of muggings, theft of handbags, jewellery and the like. Regrettably, this is a regular occurrence at the Stade de France, especially when there are concerts. The locality is not the best!
  21. Presumably, you have never worn a bikini either ?. Wordle 345 3/6 ? ??? ?????
  22. An IT professional, perhaps, but quite amateurish it would seem when (double) posting on OTIB ? ?. Just to be clear; I don’t mean this post to be offensive, just puerile sarcasm.
  23. Roy Keane did quite well with Sunderland.
