In all the years Nothing I’ve ever seen of Phantom would ever lead me to believe that he’s in any way a bull shitter. He’s a forum stalwart and if he says something then it’s either true, or he’s mistaken.

What I will say however is the influx of new members who appear to share the same down trodden opinion of Nige is bizarrely coincidental - almost like something is going on.

The paranoia on this forum is getting worse.

Judging by the the people i spoke to on Saturday the majority seemed in favour of Pearson going but were appreciative of the work he had done, there are many many City fans out there who have a different opinion on the Pearson saga than some on here seem to have, accept it.

The Kieran McKenna who was at Manchester United for about 5 years including 3 as assistant manager when they finished second in the Premier League before moving to Ipswich so its a slightly more impressive CV than 2 years split between MKD and Oxford. The Lansdown's have taken a huge gamble and it feels very much a yes man appointment but as Nige says lets get behind OUR TEAM.

McClaren has been in and out of Man U for donkeys years but has done **** all as a manager

Surely some mistake. Rather have Kasey Jones. Already got a song for that appointment:

Kasey Jones hootin  and a rollin

Kasey Jones you never have to guess

When you hear the tootin on the whistle

It’ll be Kasey at the throttle of the Bristol C express

Some would probably say that we've already got "fireman Wally and the rest of the crew"

Opinion would definitely change. Taking a risk and it paying off has to be respected - however it's exactly that, a risk, which means if it doesn't work then they're going to be up for a lot of scrutiny!

We've been watching dross football for about five years now so i'm all for taking a risk

I know the stories about transfer disagreements but I'm not sure that's the whole story.

I was massively excited about the Coppell appointment, but right from the start, something didn't seem right, he never really seemed up for it. The fact that (as far as I'm aware) he's never managed since, suggests to me that whilst falling out with SL may have been a contributory factor, in truth, Coppell fall out of love with the managerial lark.

Everyone at the club and all the fans were badly let down by Coppell

I know they keep changing but must be a fair wedge betting on him as hes favourite now at 1/4

Still 6/4 with Skybet which is a massive difference, obviously the bookies are as much in the dark as we are

20 years ago it might have got hostile but tomorrow will be just like any other game these days. Quiet. Not a criticism either, just the way it is now.

20 years ago and more we were smashing the windows of the old players changing rooms under the Williams if we weren’t happy!!!!!

I wonder if there will be any kind of protest against the board. There is a lot of anger online but we are all being very Bristol like about it. Complain on the forum but don’t actually do much else.
Would be nice to get a minute’s applause for Nige at some point at the game or maybe a silent protest against the board at half time.

    I remember the windows gett

    He didn’t “buy” him.

    He was a free agent.

It was a mistake though & a player I would have preferred had never played for us.

However even Alex Ferguson signed a lot of duds in his time & when compared to LJ (how long a list do you want?) or even Holden’s brief spell (he signed Chris Brunt, who was arguably worse than Simpson) it was very minor.

I read an article recently regarding Man U's worse ever signings and Ralph Milne came in at number 4, some real dogs below him as well, AF said that Ralph was his worst ever signing 😃

Ratified by Lansdown. Nige or any other manager cannot just go and sign the players they want to without Steve knowing or approving. Your moral ownership argument is shown to be questionable so you blame Pearson but the Owner gets away scot free. Steve was totally conned here and had no say in the matter....is that correct? He could easily have said "I understand why you want to bring him in Nige but you need to go and find a different experienced player I'm afraid".

    I give up 😩
