Not sure what it is about that joe sims I’m sure he’s a nice bloke but for me he tries too hard to be “Bristolian”

He got on the number 2 bus on the Wells Road in Knowle yesterday, got off at BBC studios on the Whiteladies Road and said "cheers drive" when he got off, could you be any more Bristolian ?

He's rightly remembered as a great manager.

However, it's often forgotten ( especially by those that think football only began in 1992!) that without his career ending injury at only 29, Clough would probably have become one of this countries greatest ever goal scorers.

At the time he retired from playing he had scored over 250 goals in around 270 games, but had only 2 England caps!

He was a fantastic player and to do what he did with two relatively unfashionable teams was incredible, by far the greatest Englishman never to manage his country

who exactly is 'they'??? This is a well developed forum for sharing views on Bristol City - supportive or critical. It's developed over years. What's new is a flood of recently activated accounts, all with WUM tendencies.

Plenty of us are not new, i'd be surprised if any were childish enough to join up just to wind you up, unless they are gas of course

The number of new or rarely participating posters with 'Board' supportive views is laughable - liking each others posts is an especially entertaining feature of their engagement. Haven't the club's media team got anything better to do? The comms are - and have been for a some time - abysmal.

Maybe not everyone shares the same view as you?

The best club manager   of recent times................Guardiola?  And Zidane, Trapatonni, Deschamps, Capello, and as someone mentioned already Dalgleish. But apart  from one of the greats Jock Stein (The only manager to win a European Cup with a team made up of players all from their home city?)  No other Brits of any consequence I can think of?     Going back a fair bit?  Alf Ramsey  Ha!

    The great Brian Clough ???

I still call it the Williams Stand.

Whilst I obviously appreciate the money he put in to rebuild the stadium, I thought it would’ve shown real class to keep the names of the stands as they were before 2015.
Ashton Gate has been our home for over century, it wouldn’t kill anyone to have some visible sign of that on the outside of the stadium or in the seating (Atyeo Stand aside).

Still, it’s his toy, he’s going to do whatever he wants with it.

What happened to the "Wedlock Stand" ?

    The Schoolboy Enclosure ?

    The Open/Uncovered/Park End ?

Another thread containing posts saying either something along the lines:

    - be careful what you wish for and / or (re SL)

    - someone might’ve done better (re Nige)

to frame their agenda with no consideration that:

    - it’s possible to have a better owner too

    - it’s possible to have done worse too

    It’s a very blinkered view.

Just because you don't agree with it doesn't make it blinkered

  8. A couple of things (tin hat on again), i've seen him on camera before and he's painful to watch and should never be fronting anything in front of a camera he is far, far, far out of his depth.

I haven't and won't watch this "performance" but what i don't understand are all the personal and vitriolic abuse aimed at him, i get that the majority are furious and frustrated at what's happened but most of you are better than that.

I've had 55 years of following City so like a lot of you seen the good and the bad (and the very bad) so i was here a long time before SL was on the scene and hopefully will have a few more years after he's gone, keep it classy lads (awaiting the happy-clapper & snow-flake comments)

He has but we know he’s a quality player. I’d be very surprised if it doesn’t come good for him

He looked a right handful for Sunderland against us last season, would of loved him at AG

No. He's just got sh1t fer brains when it comes to football. Nothing more, nothing less.

I Rarely listen to phone-ins so i've no idea who this Wilkins guy is but does he really deserve the dog's abuse he's getting on here ? at the end of the day he's a fellow City fan

He’s not got many transfers wrong in his time there.  They are better than their results and will turn it round I reckon. 12 games ago fans would have jumped at Robins.  I understand there is a tendency to focus heavily on recent games but you don’t become a bad manager in 12 games.  Whoever we appoint will have had a bad run at one point.  Not even sure he’s made bad signings, they just aren’t playing well right now.

They are actually playing very well just can't put the ball in the net (as we witnessed at AG) Sims has been a big disappointment for them

I thought the 3 of them looked tidy.

Kelly, Semenyo and Scott. All sold on for a profit.

But **** me. To Bournemouth. ******* Bournemouth. You can see how far we’ve gone backwards when we’re selling to Bournemouth.

And Brentford. Not so long ago well below us.

And Brighton. Who remembers the story about the Brighton chairman driving up from the south coast to give his support to Steve’s grand Ashton Vale dream?

Sold for a profit. Did Steve reinvest? Or take a dividend?

How far we’ve come. In Lansdown we trust 😡

Plenty of teams much, much bigger than us saying the same thing regarding Bournemouth
