Probably. I think he also mentioned that it was unusual for clubs to give that amount of time off to players, suggesting we were an outlier. So he (or someone else) had obviously done some research.

Assuming he is correct that the players got 10 days off (and I believe this is true) then that means they didn't train from 8th Oct - 17th Oct, and so only returned to training on the Wednesday before the Coventry game.

I'm no expert but that does feel like you're risking going into the Coventry game a bit undercooked.

    IF true it's a shambles

Another thing to be gleaned from the interview is that it appears there is no sale/investment on the horizon, and the Lansdowns are sticking around for now.

Also, far from disinterested and spending all his time in Bermuda, JL is very much still involved in the day-to-day running of the club "I speak with Brian all the time".

In fairness to Jon, unlike his dad he is a massive City fan through and through and has been since a young boy, the constant abuse he gets just doesn't sit easy with me

No way on earth we are a top ten budget in this league still. In the past without a doubt but now I don't believe that.

I doubt if it's far off, probably 7-8 definitely with higher budgets and probably 10-11 definitely with lower budgets meaning we are probably in mid-table mediocrity, all guess work though

There's plenty more enjoying the ride close to the top of the prem, quarter finals of the caribou cup and watching their team play the top European sides in the champion league!

    I'd take that I think!

That's fine, most football supporters would support anyone as long as the results are there, even Joey Barton !!!!

So essentially what he is saying is that to their disposal they have the facilities, the squad, and the budget? To me that simply translates to we have "all the gear and no idea".

Also, when people talk about what Lansdown has done for the club and the danger of them selling up, why do people automatically assume we will end up like a Portsmouth, Reading or Bolton?.. Could it not of been possible if the Lansdowns sold up a while back we could of ended up Like a Brighton or Brentford? It just seems a lot of people assume Lansdown moving on would instantly be negative for the club, thats not always true, Newcastle are pretty happy since Mike Ashley sold up.

There are plenty of Newcastle fans who would prefer their owners not to be Saudi

Not sure what it is about that joe sims I’m sure he’s a nice bloke but for me he tries too hard to be “Bristolian”

He got on the number 2 bus on the Wells Road in Knowle yesterday, got off at BBC studios on the Whiteladies Road and said "cheers drive" when he got off, could you be any more Bristolian ?

He's rightly remembered as a great manager.

However, it's often forgotten ( especially by those that think football only began in 1992!) that without his career ending injury at only 29, Clough would probably have become one of this countries greatest ever goal scorers.

At the time he retired from playing he had scored over 250 goals in around 270 games, but had only 2 England caps!

He was a fantastic player and to do what he did with two relatively unfashionable teams was incredible, by far the greatest Englishman never to manage his country

who exactly is 'they'??? This is a well developed forum for sharing views on Bristol City - supportive or critical. It's developed over years. What's new is a flood of recently activated accounts, all with WUM tendencies.

Plenty of us are not new, i'd be surprised if any were childish enough to join up just to wind you up, unless they are gas of course

The number of new or rarely participating posters with 'Board' supportive views is laughable - liking each others posts is an especially entertaining feature of their engagement. Haven't the club's media team got anything better to do? The comms are - and have been for a some time - abysmal.

Maybe not everyone shares the same view as you?

The best club manager   of recent times................Guardiola?  And Zidane, Trapatonni, Deschamps, Capello, and as someone mentioned already Dalgleish. But apart  from one of the greats Jock Stein (The only manager to win a European Cup with a team made up of players all from their home city?)  No other Brits of any consequence I can think of?     Going back a fair bit?  Alf Ramsey  Ha!

    The great Brian Clough ???

I still call it the Williams Stand.

Whilst I obviously appreciate the money he put in to rebuild the stadium, I thought it would’ve shown real class to keep the names of the stands as they were before 2015.
Ashton Gate has been our home for over century, it wouldn’t kill anyone to have some visible sign of that on the outside of the stadium or in the seating (Atyeo Stand aside).

Still, it’s his toy, he’s going to do whatever he wants with it.

What happened to the "Wedlock Stand" ?

    The Schoolboy Enclosure ?

    The Open/Uncovered/Park End ?

Another thread containing posts saying either something along the lines:

    - be careful what you wish for and / or (re SL)

    - someone might’ve done better (re Nige)

to frame their agenda with no consideration that:

    - it’s possible to have a better owner too

    - it’s possible to have done worse too

    It’s a very blinkered view.

Just because you don't agree with it doesn't make it blinkered
