I would have thought by now, there are a "chosen few and "trusted" persons who would know the EFL fixtures that will be announced at 09:00am on Thursday

I think the media get the opening days fixtures some time today(Wednesday) so that they can conduct the interviews and then they can play the interviews at 09:00am on Thursday.

    So two things

    1) Who would you like on the first day,it should be away as we will be away two weeks later

I WOULD LIKE SUNDERLAND AWAY ON THE FIRST DAY,

SECOND CHOICE NORWICH MIDDLESBROUGH OR HULL,just hope none of the four teams mentioned will NOT be played on a mid week date

    2) Would YOU actually know the fixture lists?

answers BEFORE 08:00am on Thursday morning

They've been all over facey for the past week?

Got a feeling Hildreth will retire end of this season, he's been in gradual decline.

Few others likely to move on too I think - Brooks, Waller, MDL.   So maybe quite an overhaul this winter.

He is and has been planning for a couple years, he has a job lined up.

And Rest in Peace also the 649 Argentinians who lost their lives so needlessly, too.

I've visited both memorials, in Stanley and Buenos Aires and travelled extensively through Argentina 25-30yrs ago, every single Argentine i met then agreed we did the right thing and said the Junta was wrong. I never met one person who thought they were in the right and we were in the wrong.

Fast forward to the past 10yrs children in schools are being indoctrinated, you wouldn't believe the 5hit they put on social media, they are absolutely convinced they sunk HMS Invincible and we secretly sailed a replacement south and pretended it never happened.

Unfortunately my respect for them went out the window several years ago.

May be an image of aeroplane and outdoors

May be an image of text that says "News wortd Argentinian pilot MOCKED after claiming he 'SUNK' HMS Invincible during Falklands War Gerardo Isaac claims he severely damaged HMS Invincible despite evidence the contrary (Image GETTY) AN ARGENTINIAN pilot has regaled crowds with a story about how he crippled flagship Royal Navy aircraft carrier during the Falklands War despite British veterans insisting their ship was never hit. Sounds a bit naughty to me. Surely retiring should only be for a genuine injury.

I've seen teams do it in friendly/warmup type matches when the batsman has already got a big score and they want to give others a go, but yeah in a competitive game like that it isn't the done thing.

Ashwin did it in the IPL this year which caused a bit of fuss, and Brathwaite was quoted afterwards as saying it was something he thought teams should look to exploit more.

It's within the laws/regulations for the T20, but is it within the spirit of the game?

A lot of junior age cricket players retire at 30 or 50 and can only take 3 or 5 wickets and they have to stop bowling

  5. 2 batters retiring themselves out in the T20 today for 'tactical reasons'

    Samit Patel and Carlos Braithwaite

Reason i've read for Patel was so a batsman not as 'rotund' as him could come in for the last ball to try and get the 3 needed.

Probably same sort of reason for Braithwaite but haven't read anything yet

Feel I'm missing out by never having visited Spain's northern coast. ?

Will put that right this year, hopefully. ?

Do it, it's well worth it.

Another place that deserves a mention is Mundaka.

  7. If you planning a long weekend there's a ferry from Plymouth to Santander, about 20hrs, good for a p155 up there and back.

Santander is about 1hr drive from Bilbao, done the trip loads of times to get into SW France.

As said above San Sebastian is worth a de-tour, Basque region as a whole is great.
