  1. Unpopular opinion but I reckon Pickford should still play for England. People enjoying shiiiting on him, and sometimes watching him in an Everton shirt it can sometimes be valid.

But in an England shirt he's a different player. We couldn't of asked for more in the Euros from him really. I also quite enjoy seeing him shout at Maguire.

  2. 2017-18 season COD was at his best. Got injured and was never the near the same. It was a long time ago.

I wish we were able to keep Niclas Eliasson over COD over these years. Wouldn't surprise me if NE got more assists in that one season than COD has his entire career here, he was exciting to watch.

  3. Not the result I wanted. Hoped Luton would go through.

Now i'm rooting for Forest. If either Huddersfield or Sheffield United go up it'll be pretty boring imo

Fulham and Bournemouth going up is already pretty meh.

  4. Just my take, but maybe Sunderland humbled him a bit? He got too used to the cozy times at City.

Possibly he's self aware of all this now and wants to build himself up again, and Hibs is a club that doesn't demand too much so he can build. I think he'll do well there.

This is completely an outside look in, for all we know Hibs was the only club interested and he's just taking it because he can.

    Yes, agree 100%.

I think he’s a decent player but a) suits a style of football that’s the polar opposite of Pearson’s, and b) not sure it’s championship level decent.

He's not football smart enough off the ball to be a champ player yet. I want to call him lazy but on the ball he can be decent, we've seen it.

    His level is L1

  6. Bit off topic, but has Cundy been as good as people are suggesting on this forum? Or is it a case of "expensive to replace". I haven't seen him play live apart from highlights.

I thought his loan last season in L1 was fairly unsuccessful? Can't believe hes been loaned out 9 times!

It’s just occurred to me that some way back in this very thread theres discussion about another season’s end with Rovers scoring late on to secure 3rd place in the basement and promotion to L1, beating an already relegated team at home.

Probably about 2000 pages ago. ?

I seem to remember they were coming for us after that promotion as well.

They had a better squad going up that time too, L1 is also tougher this time round. I don’t think it’ll end pretty.

  8. I wanted Everton to come down but seeing Leeds take that spot is bittersweet.
I remember a fair few of their fans giving it their all when they got promoted, like the thought they’d be back down never occurred to them.

That said I have no doubts they’ll get 6 points off us next season

Rovers getting my promoted hasn’t pissed me off as much as the reaction by City fans has.
Unbelievable the amount of well-wishes I’m seeing on here.
You wouldn’t get any such praise for their rivals getting promoted if it was Celtic/Rangers, Sheff Utd/Weds, Villa/Brum, Newcastle/Sunderland, Southampton/Portsmouth, West Ham/Millwall, etc etc etc.

I put it down to the fact they’ve been below us for so long that some people forget how much of a horrible club they are. I don’t. They’re a horrible club and I do not wish them well and I will not congratulate them for being the third best team in the lowest division in football. Bollox to them!
I’m astounded at the amount of City fans dishing out praise.

People need to wind their necks back in, it’s our right to call Rovers tinpot any way we like

I have to be honest, when they got to 5-0, I hoped they would do it. Made the end of the season's football more exciting. Shame that Exeter couldn't win the league, but I'm quite pleased Rovers got promoted and fair play to them and the job Joey Barton has done. Well done the Gas, credit where credits due, if you win 7-0 you deserve to go up. No bitterness here.

BTW, I bet its bouncing on the Robbered bus right now!

It’s hard to deny that’s the football magic right there. I will still call them tinpot but fair play to them

Why?  Because those of us Bristolians who are in our eighth decade remember a time when you could support both Bristol teams whilst favouring one of the two.

I remember, as a City fan for over 70 years, I got an enormous thrill seeing Rovers come back from 3-0 down at half time to Leeds, in old Division 2, to draw 3-3 at Eastville.  I remember going to cheer Rovers on, Divison 3, against Everton, in Division 1, in FA Cup at Goodison.

show respect everyone for a great achievement for one of the city’s clubs.

People who on here say they ‘hate’ Rovers, or worse, just take a moment to see how silly you look.  I know what John Atyeo would have thought of you!

I look to a time, or rather dream of a time, when Bristol provide both city clubs in a European Final

    That’s a nice story, anyway…. **** rovers

The Fewers will be intolerable for a month or so but they have a reality check waiting for them. League 1 won’t be quite the stroll in the park that they will be predicting tonight…..

They’ve got a few key players on loan too haven’t they

Wont be easy for them. L1 is tough even for champ teams

I think the pitch invasion is probably because they turned around a five goal swing to win 7-0… not because they’ve beaten the lowest team in the league.

    We’d obviously pitch invade too.

Well done, nothing gets past you mate.

I’m still gonna call it tinpot

Given our squad the season panned out pretty much as expected imo. Not inspiring and downright frustrating at times but we are seeing the fruits of crackpot financial strategy from a billionaire and the previous CEO that he backed to the hilt. My hope is for a ten point improvement next season. We certainly won’t morph into a play off side, that’s for sure.

I know that’s a majority view on here. But I don’t think our team is half bad and I think with this current squad top 10 is possible. Maybe if we started the season again with the current team selection that may just be true.

I believe NP has got the absolute best out of some players, which is great, but not the best out of the squad. If that makes sense? Maybe that’s all we could’ve asked for this season.

I think Towler is near-ready for the Championship in his favoured position. A strong pre-season and he could be in contention for the first team squad.

No way should we even consider helping The Sags after what the parasites did in ‘82 and in later years to Bristol Rugby.

From what I saw I really don't think he is. Needs another season loan imo, possibly to a L1-2 team.

Decent going forward but players absolutely got the best of him in defence. But if next season starts and he hasn't been loaned out, I trust NP that he thinks he's ready for the champ.

  16. NP has just chosen the best of the two. Pring hasn't done anything "wrong" to be dropped. There's is just better now.

It's strange but this is the sorta of stuff a turning point looks like, it's good. We got too used to having to play players like Vyner or Simpson because there was no better.

Do you think LJ would be happy JUST coaching? If NP was fully on board with it, and he was a coach then maybe - but I feel it just be too much of an issue

    This was my thought

No way. There would be a complex there for sure
