Ever tried to park near the football ground in Exeter, the rugby ground was built on a  more or less  blank canvas,so not as straight forward as you say.

On readiung this, the hierarchy at rovers will be adding it to their list of places they can "squat on and then nick"

In other news they think they have sold 500 out of 740 season tickets in the corner of a new stand that is yet to get planning permission. I can't see that here will be any problems at all in doing that.

Forget 'Row M' this stand might not have a Row A, or B, or C.....

How long do you think it'll be before their forum start to sift through our released player list and suggest that they should sign some/all of them?

    Probably not that long

It will probably also be accompanied by such guff as ".... could do a job for us" - essentially implying they could do better, but would at a push "settle" for one of our released players.

The reality is our released players are in most cases likely going to find themselves better clubs than that lot.

I dread the day that Wally finally grows a pair and sacks the thug. The thought of them appointing someone who has even half an idea of how to manage a club is rather alarming.............................................

If this happens this little beauty below might come in handy for "Wally the watch". While it does not specifically mention cigars as a risk it protects against. It does say "Our lightweight, compact and well-balanced faceshields feature various options including flame resistant faceseals for applications with hot particles."

Sam Frost uncritically reports all this shit as well.

He is undoubtedly the most biased & sycophantic reporter the Post has ever employed (last night’s HT Tweet was a real gem) “Rovers the better side despite the score line, should have had a couple of penalties, I can see them winning this one”.

He’s moving on at season’s end, that’s either because he’s been hired by Kim Jong-Un or he’s finally breaking free of the Merseyside crime syndicate.

I heard Kim Jong Un considered his reporting to be too biased, and therefore likely to lack the level of credibility North Korea looks for in their reporting.

Joe Bryan physically weak and poor at heading? I’ve heard it all now!

My recollection is most definitely not that either.

I remember he was capable of making crunching tackles if needed, though admittedly it was not something he did frequently. In his previous spell with us I recall he often had the better of much taller players in the air. His jumping ability was so good that it often put him in danger as he went "over the top" of taller opponents, with a few incidents of him landing awkwardly on head/neck. However If he went down injured you knew he was actually hurt, and he shook off a few "reducers" from opposing full backs when attacking.

His main weakness I felt was that he would often be out of position (or switch off?) and this would cause us problems with opponents "getting in behind" or getting on the end of crosses when he should have been defending the back post. You can obviously argue if that was down to the individual or coaching, systems. tactics. He also had a tendency to try and win the ball high up the field, and if the winger/forward evaded the tackle it could result on opponents bearing down on goal.

While he is not most definitely not on teh same level this is pretty much the same criticism you will see of Trent Alexander-Arnold.

As others said going forward he was often very good, his crossing was decent and if he came inside and attacked the box he was capable of scoring wonder goals like we saw against Rovers, Swindon,  Palace and Man Utd. I seem to recall him scoring a free kick or two (including one that got Fulham promoted) .

Him and Pring in tandem on the left would be exceptionally strong IMO. Both good athletes, capable of carrying the ball at pace and with an obvious threat - both capable of defending.

  7. Some of their comments beggar belief

"I would love a 40-45 thousand stadium capacity"
So more than Villa Park, Stamford Bridge, Hillsborough, Goodison, Elannd Road? for a club that averages 7-9K?
For comparison sake this is like us saying we need a 100K capacity, it is a x5 multiple!

"fast foward straight to phase 2 of the build as we will most likely be in the Prem by then."

Based on what? being 15th in League One and being regular whipping boys to most decent teams in their division this season?
They have never been in the top division in their history, and have not as far as i know ever threatened to do so.

The gap between League One and Chamionship is now huge as evidenced by the number of clubs that have gone straight back down in recent seasons. At the top end of the championship the number of clubs without Parachute Payments getting promoted is ridiculously small, and those that do have usually invested in their squad to a level rovers can only dream of - Andy Tilson is STILL their record signing by all accounts.

I think most gasheads are envisioning a stadium that is a "smaller version" of the Tottenham stadium (no expense spared) what they are much more likely to get without them funding it is a basic concrete build with limited facilities - which as far as I can tell they will not own? So all the talk of concerts etc. won't matter as they will be lining the pockets of Congyar or whoever operates the development.

Coventry MK II looms - it's going to be fun!

Bit of a mystery why they have had so many pitch troubles at Bobble Park. The lack of sunlight is often a problem where high stands throw shade onto a pitch. Not an issue at Membley clearly. ,

The only tall structure in that image is the big Screen, so clearly the bobbles are a conspiracy from that "rosy cheeked lady garden" and his evil band of "Gurt Teds". Case closed.

  9. From "Honest" Joe - "for what I think is a yellow card tackle for a bit of frustration from a young player, he gives a straight red card."

The tackle was late, from behind, performed with a scissor motion, likely to injure the opponent... oh and followed up with a headbutt (or putting the forehead forcibly into the face of joe morrell) in the confrontation that inevitably followed.

So are they still 'promotion chasing' in 15th after losing, again, to the side Bar-con said they would finish above when the lost at Fratton park or do we have to wait until they're relegated?

???  They'll be "needing snookers" to get promoted.

There are 9 games left - Their maximum points total is now 72, so I think we can put the "promotion chasing" phrase to bed.

They still have to play 5 of the top 7 plus the teams in 10th,11th and 12th - They have one match against a team below them (port Vale).

19 points off 6th place. It’s not looking good for that late play off surge.

So if the actual playoff candidates went on a long 100% losing streak it would take the gas half of their remaining games to catch up.

Sheffield Wednesday, leading the division, have scored 2.24 pts per game over the season so far. If the gas manage that for the rest of the season they would be around 5 or 6 pts clear of  the current playoff chasers. It would be almost inconceivable for them to get promoted from where they are now.

I'd like to be the first to wish the gap an early happy birthday for October 2023.

It’s ok, bit bland with nothing design-wise to get excited about. Seems a bit of ‘we need to get something out quick, let’s look through our past catalogue’.

Pity we’re moving from an established ‘premier’ brand…but if they can’t supply enough shirts for the first team, let alone supporters we’re left with little choice it seems.

Like the O’Neill video which has allayed some concerns about origin and likely quality. Are they same as the established and decent’ish surf gear manufacturer? Seems a different logo.

I think the quotation marks in this post are very apt.

Part of the evident appreciation for Hummel was perhaps that a lot of fans viewed Hummel as a "premier" shirt manufacturer for their history of supplying famous teams and iconic kits over the years. But it is just that "history". Their chosen distributor going out of business left us high and dry. I asume our legal team had break clauses in the six year contract (watertight?) which were realised when that happened.

There have been a lot of complaints on the fourm over the lack of availability of Kit in the shop from fans. Commercially this situation would have been disastorous for the club in reecnt months (missed opportunities at Christmas, and during our recent good run with bigger gates).

It sounds very much like the club have been now been backed into a corner by this turn of events - On the face of it it seems to me like thery have made a pro-active decision to change to next seasons Kit now to prevent the problems that could be caused by not having enough Kit for the players. This deal will also bring in revenue, as they can start selling Kit in the shop again soon.
