Ashton is just trying to endear himself to a new fan base.   Kind of like when you go to a job interview or start new employment (which he is), you need to show the right character.  I have a feeling this 'reach the fans' or whatever it is, won't have a happy ending but I've got to think for the better and remember the absolute shit that was involved while Marcus Evans and his staff were on board.     Don't forget he's relocated from one end of the country to another, pack up your troubles maybe and hope for a fresh start.

We did OK yesterday, maybe on another day the goal shouldn't have been given but we've had more than our share of wrongful rulings and decisions not go our way.     Nothing fancy out there, just get ahead and keep focus.    Lincoln did well in parts but didn't seem fully committed.

We could be playing Derby and Nottingham Forest next season it looks like.    This league is tough enough already and my concern is, if we don't make it out this season what with new players / manager / owners and expectation, it could be some time before a promotion occurs.    Its been a poor start but the win yesterday was crucial.    Hope it inspires the players and Cook to do a bit better and believe in themselves in the weeks ahead.

Sorry fella, with massive respect to a fellow fan of football, this will end badly.

Trust me, there is nothing that you have seen on here that is exaggerated. The man is dangerous and I fear for you as a club, I really do. If you doubt us, look at the view of the Watford fans where he was before he came here. I was one, and I freely admit it, that thought it was sour grapes - it wasn’t.

Our owner, far from a stupid man and, a self made billionaire, was fooled by him.

I have not looked at this yet, but I am ‘ intrigued ‘ by the companies that MA has / had, that are football related.

By the sounds of it Cotterill was asleep when Lansdown renegotiated a potential deal for Harry McGuire.

For the cost of Dwight Gayle - we instead had an Engvall, Hegeler, Taylor Moore, Adam Nagy and a Djuric.

Fair point about using money wisely.

Don’t know the truth of it but I thought SC went on holiday thinking they were done deals only to find that the club had attempted to re-negotiate in his absence and both deals collapsed.

    Happy to be corrected.

  3. I am sure this has been asked previously, but my 21 year old son died on Monday in an accident.

He was an SC holder for 10 years and loved the club. Is there anywhere that I can scatter his ashes when the time comes or is there any area where a memorial plack can be put up?

    Great tribute Fordy

Shortened version ( always need one of those on a MDT):

    It’s not Havanatopia though! :(

P.S. You’ve passed the interview and have all the attributes to take over the role, so sadly vacated by Havana. However, OTIB now has to undergo it’s rigorous and exhaustive 6 weeks process to identify the best and right person , so we will let you know that you’ve been unsuccessful when we appoint an illiterate, unfunny and obnoxious poster to the role - probably around Christmas time! :)

The good human test will also be part of that process.

Their owner is on the EUFA committee, I would guess that helps plus their version of FFP has been 'relaxed' recently for a year. Convenient eh?

What a front line they will have though, Mbappe, Neymar and Messi. Not bad that. ;)

I think it is their chairman rather than their owner.

FFP is not something that I am a fan of for a number of reasons, but to have different rules from country to country makes an absolute mockery of what, already, is a shambles.

Perhaps Paul Cook has the experience and strength of personality to be able to handle Ashton. I imagine Johnson and Holden were fairly easy for Ashton to handle.

They've built up a good squad and under Cook (who I'd have quite liked here prior to Holden) I can see them challenging.

    Yes, all valid points.

I would think that the problem Cook MAY have is players foisted on him, but probably has the strength to face that up with that nice Mr Ashton.

On a separate point I hear that he will be leading the team out at very home game to ‘Simply the best’ by Tina Turner playing over the PA system.

  7. As I have said before in this thread it is more than a little disappointing that our owner and our chairman did not spot all of his character traits much earlier.

It would appear that he is now utterly out of control and this is possibly due to his close relationship with ITFC’s new owners.

If I am Paul Cook I am applying for every vacancy that comes up.

    Semantics.

If you wish other clubs to go bankrupt you are taking football rivalry far too seriously.  We are all football fans and peoples football clubs can be extremely important to them.

We are all one terrible owner away from bankruptcy

I agree. I would never want to see any club disappear. We all have our rivals and we can detest them but football clubs are a key part of society.

But we are not paying 80% of his wages. We are only paying a maximum of £2500 per month. Whilst I know that many people myself included earn less than £2500 , it is not correct to say we are paying 80% of his wages, as I suspect he earns somewhat more than £2500 a month.

Also worth noting that whatever 80% equals, you still pay tax and N.I. on it.

They do have a lab in Wuhan which questions were asked about safety back in 2017. I was taking talking to someone yesterday regarding not trusting China and wanting to crush the worlds economy for they're own gain.

Don’t know about that mate, but this is more sinister than it appears. IMHO.

There is much more too this

Didn't SARS came from the same source (not the same bloke or bat)

It was me that posted the link.

Be careful of comparisons though - there are probably tens of thousands more cases in the UK, just not recorded.

And countries have different methods of measurements and there are valid reasons why Germanys stats seem out of kilter with elsewhere but may be more realistic than those of Italy.

    This link shows individual stats with dates which shows the curve of the virus expansion (substitute the country name with whatever country you want to look at);

    https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/spain/

Don’t know fella, but it seems strange to me that the source is not being discussed by the government or the media - there is more to this.
