Seems pretty decent that in April, no?

Have noticed recently a number of adverts on prime time TV advertising season tickets for The Bears. I wonder if they think they don't need to advertise City tickets in that way due to the numbers sold.

Regardless of the money...going to Real Madrid is a massive cultural move.

It's going to be a completely different environment to the UK and Germany.

I actually feel for him regardless of money. Fair play if he pulls it off.

Language, culture, history, politics, and so much more...even before kickin a ball.

Think he's immersed himself in the Getman culture language etc so I can't see why he won't do similar in Spain. Seems to want to experience as many different cultures as possible whilst his stock is so high. He reportedly turned down much higher offers from Premier League clubs, so money doesn't appear to be his overriding consideration.

Saved me typing, cheers! This is so obviously the reason but some fans don’t want to listen to it. They’d rather be down about things. Up to them I guess.

I think we have to look at the bigger picture when comparing ourselves with the Millwalls etc. We've built and are building a sporting complex under the Bristol sports umbrella with associated infrastructure hotel etc not just what is happening on the pitch, what SL wants to leave as his legacy. I don't think that are any clubs outside the PL can compare in this regard. Whilst that is now progressing we need to get back to the day job and success on the pitch. I'm quite optimistic,  the players seemed to be aligned with NP and the coaching team and there appears to be a team unity - look how several went up to Alex Scott after his error . I see a top half/play off place next season (officials permitting!)

Last home game it is then. Could be the last game I see Scott in a city shirt. Disappointing for us but so exciting for Scott and proud that it’s our club that have helped develop him into the player he is. Will also be great to see Brownhill back at Ashton Gate, will certain get a good reception.

And over 23k tickets sold. Impressive

    COYR 3-2 win

I'd like to see a couple of our young players get a game today or at least on the bench to soak in the atmosphere. NP won't be able to make too many changes against QPR unless they beat Stoke today as they're in a relegation battle and accusations will fly over fielding a 'weakened team'. Regardless I think we can spoil Burnleys efforts to get 100 points . 3-2 city

I would be very surprised if any club paid £30M+ & the chances are that would be the fee, as there's so much interest in him so there's bound to be a bidding war, to loan him back to us.

Its such a life changing event for him that any loan back simply will not work. Its a measure of him that he's putting all this speculating to one side and is still performing consistently. That's also great man management from Nige.

I think a fresh start all round would be needed. Him at his new club and us moving on.

Barring the lucky 2,000 odd away fans at QPR, tomorrow represents probably the last time most of us will see him in a City shirt ever again, so enjoy.

We play QPR next week(8th May) and unfortunately because of QPRs league position only 1800 of us wil be fortunate to see us in a Bristol City shirt.

Like you, I try and avoid single points of failure. Cards, a bit of cash and an alternative to phone reliance where possible.

For me it's an as well as rather than instead of.

Agree. Having just gone through Bristol Airport where there was a queue trying to scan bar codes on smart phones, my printed out boarding pass worked perfectly

What's it got to do with him, he isn't an EFL player, he just played in this league for a season because he wasn't good enough for the one above.

Exactly. Sour grapes. According to the Manchester papers Manchester United Ace misses out, not a Sunderland Ace. Whereas we can rightly claim Scott.

He’s captain, elected by the players who obviously respect him as a player and a man. Try watching him closely on Saturday and maybe you’ll get a wide view of just what he contributes - I assume that you do actually watch City play live?…………:dunno:

Notwithstanding your comments, weimann was poor and not to his usual standard tonight. Surprised he wasn't subbed. Being Captain shouldn't mean you can't be subbed if not playing well.

Prices are very reasonable indeed - fair play to the club for that.  But agree - this will surely make giving your tickets to friends when you can’t go obsolete which will be a shame imho.

Should have a system like other clubs where you can legitimately transfer your ticket to someone else or sell it back to the club to resell f you are on holiday for a particular game.

Almost certainly he will be at the Gate for the last home game of the season, so would hope that we would be able to show our appreciation.

I don't know about 'in future', but the podcast (One for the Bristol City: The Podcast) has been running since 27/2/2023. At the moment it seems to be mainly the fan content from SOTC. and is of massively variable length.

RB seem to be pushing both the City and Gas podcasts in recent weeks, so perhaps that is the way it will be in the future.

No PPs this season, but have been in the PL since we came up in 15/16 and benefitted from £75m in PPs in the time since.  That’s 4-5 years of pure football income in our case.

That money has helped them keep a stronger squad together, supplementing it with new players as they churn that squad.

They haven’t had to go through a rebuild like we’ve had to.

Of course it’s disappointing to let a 2-0 lead slip, but shit happens in football.  By the same token, we turned around our first loss to a win on Friday (a Good Friday), and have started to show we can comeback from a goal down, or stay in games with an under strength line-up.

I’m not sure I’ve heard any excuses trotted out by the people that matter, e.g. Nige, just a reflection of a good, entertaining game where we matched and in some cases bettered a team going for promotion.

I also don’t think they looked superior to us for large periods either.  Just because they have possession in our final third, doesn’t mean “superiority”, it just shows a different approach to the game.  When we have had possession like this in recent games versus low-block teams, nobody talks about our superiority, normally it’s written in the negative, ie moan, moan, moan, we aren’t creative, blah, blah, blah.

For all their “superiority” we created chances quite easily, more than they did.  We were able to defend narrow, and then spring counterattacks.  I didn’t sit there biting my nails like I have done in previous seasons, e.g. Forest (h) last season.  That was when I sensed inevitability, I don’t anymore.  We didn’t hang on at 2-2 like in previous years, we still took the game to them.  We missed 2 good (one gilt-edged) chances (Vyner and Weimann header) in the latter stages.  We were still strong, not out on our arses like in previous seasons.

We’ve come a long way, albeit in a very gradual way.  It seems more “inevitable” to me that we will continue to progress under the current structure.

    That probably sells season tickets.

Also Boro have 5 PL loanees and a championship (WBA) Loanee whereas ours, are all our players Inc a good mix of academy players

I’m really gutted about this. He’s a fantastic local broadcaster and I love both SOTC and the scrum. I remember sitting with my dad listening to the Friday night phone in many years ago too. Sad times, as whoever replaces him won’t be of the same caliber.

I liked him when he did his non sporting stint a few years ago. Showed his versitality and always willing to listen to the callers and letting them give their point of view and then quietly and subtly disagreeing.
