Well the clubs won’t be paying out bonuses in any form, win, appearance etc. Would that account for 25% ish across the board? The clubs can issue a statement saying the players are taking a cut, but in reality as we all know they are paid well above the norm anyway.

The statement read 25% of annual salary which I presume excluded any bonuses as they weren’t mentioned and also as there are no games there are no bonuses. So in effect the reduction on players earnings could be greater than 25%

    How unfortunate:

Saracens have asked their players and staff to take a 25 per cent wage cut due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The five-time Premiership champions have requested their staff members to take the pay cut as the cancellation of social gatherings and events has resulted in the club being in a "critical position".

Although, to be fair, they do appear to have look after their 'normal' staff:

Our lower paid staff have been protected from this pay cut.

Bristol Bears also taking a 25% pay cut. I wonder if the Bristol City players will follow suit, or are their contract terms different?

    This^

Went to the supermarket last Sunday was pleasantly surprised by the amount and range of goods they had in stock, so I did a usual shop wrongly believing that the selfish had got everything they would need and had gone home.

Appears people are still at it. Why!!!!

Pleased to see that supermarkets are putting limits on things now, but it should never have come to that.

I was in ASDA this morning buying a newspaper. Clear signs saying max of 3 of any one item. A women puts 12 cans of potatoes in her trolley,  I told her limit was 3 of any item but she just ignored me and carried on adding another 4 cans. Everyone was looking at her and her partner/husband was looking slightly embarrassed.  Great when she got to the till and they would only sell her the 3 tins.

Just rang the old man to tell him about self isolation for anyone over 70. His reply was' we're staying in, just staying in Spoons rather than home'.

Got to love the older generation.

Well as Ireland have just announced the shut down of their pubs apparently in part due to the irresponsible behaviour of some, and worries about St Patrick’s day on 17th  March how long before he won’t be able to stay in Spoons?

I think one thread for all WSL related discussions would be a good idea

I agree one thread  within  the football forum, on similar lines to the Rovers thread. If you don’t want to read it, it’s your choice.

I took it as though @Midlands Robin meant has JCH played in this seasons FA Cup for the Fewers so if he did move elsewhere in Jan then would he be eligible to play in the Cup for his new team or not. The answer is yes he’d be cup tied, he helped them to a momentous 1-1 draw at home v Bromley who played the last 20 minutes with 10 men. The minnows though went one better in the replay infront the of millions watching on TV by beating Bromley in their own backyard, where some belter in the away end thought it would be a great idea to throw a flare of some sort onto a plastic pitch ??

and don’t forget Bromley had a perfectly good goal ruled out and in addition scored from a throw in (although as it didn’t bounce first or touch another player so again ruled out) .

Can’t see it myself, he’s the best thing since slice bread to most of them so won’t have the majority of the fan base on his back, and let’s be honest they’ve got no money to pay him off if they did sack him. Would be hilarious if they did mind, can you imagine Wally and co trying to find a replacement.
