Same happened last summer, positive signings early on, Austria trip, easy friendly schedule aside from Bournemouth away. Then same issues with injuries and a poor start. As I’ve said I’m a big Nige fan but I wonder if he would be better in the Tinnion role with a more progressive Head Coach. Let’s see what happens, if we don’t do something in this window now to add goals to the team and creativity there is not a chance we will go above 14th.

I wouldn't mind us going in for Jesunrun Rak-Sakyi on loan from Crystal Palce. Did well at Charlton last season 15 goals. Only 20 and can player either on the wing or as a forward.

Lopetegui was a big part behind wolves pushing for Scott, will be interesting what happens if Scott doesn’t leave. This is likely the time of his peak value, he’d have to do something spectacular until January to retain his value, hope we don’t look back and regret turning down what I think would have been a club record fee.

I'm not sure the change necessarily adversely affects the Scott transfer. If anything it might increase the chances subject to FFP. Scott is a home grown player and also Bournmouth were the other team interested, so a chance for Gary O'Neil if appointed to get one over his old team.

Interesting quote from text commentary, bit of a reality check for Ipswich- granted Sunderland away is one of the harder games at this level.

Not sure they'll go down but this top 6 stuff feels daft on their strength of their squad.

But it's not that long ago since Sunderland were in League 1 so should be a team Ipswich know quite well

Both coffee shops only cater for full fat milk no skimmed or semi skimmed options for latte

Also  no Crisps or snacks only doughnuts so have to queue twice it you want a snack and a coffee

Don't understand why the milk isn't semi skimmed. It's the most popular selling milk. Go into any Greggs it's semi skimmed and seems to be the milk of choice in most commercial outlets.

Oh I fully expect both to be in the top 7, just meant struggling on the opening day

I expect a lot struggle, pre season is so different to a league game. How many of the teams that got promoted last season, won their opening game?

Watching Switzerland Vs New Zealand and Jonathan Pearce has just managed to get his City mention in as always.
    Good work from JP.

New Zealand bossing the game but need to score or go out.

And now on the 4th mention and its not yet half time?

Cornick’s bit of physicality earns him the gig in my eyes.  He was pretty good today too.

But would I be surprised if Sykes started?  Nope.

Wells and Conway have both been excellent, harsh on whoever misses out.

I enjoyed last season when Wells & TC seemed to have that natural partnership together

Perhaps if those who are posting screenshots of the email from their iPhone 14, didn’t unnecessarily ask for a physical ticket, it would all be fine.

I think the club underestimated that although the vast majority could have a digital card if they wanted to, they just love having the physical card . Suspect 3000 was a reasonable estimate for those unable to have a card (not through choice)

Agree with this but a late deal leaves us with little time to bring in reinforcements.

That said, it would be a very different scenario to when, for example, Webster left near the end of the window in that we have got the key players we need already so any signings would be “nice to have” rather than critical.

Think that is the way the club are thinking . If Alex goes we've enough to cover and if he stays then we have a deeper depth in the squad.

Not one of our finest moments if so, was it ever proved it was some of our fans that did it?

Don't think it was ever proven. The Rovers statement at the time referred to persons purporting to be City supporters. Despite proof either way fairplay to City for quickly bringing in a specialist contractor to clean them up. Probably ended up looking better than they did before the incident.
