  1. Whilst having a gander on Slagchat came across a thread about our season ticket prices, most of it loads of shite being spoken until I came to a post taking the piss out of a marquee outside of the RobinsBS3 by stating it was our promotion party, anyone care to correct the pikey and tell him it was their main stand?

During my lifetime you have always been the better supported club. However, football was right in the doldrums in the mid 80s and attendances were pretty shite for every club in comparison to today . I just checked and City's previous home game against Swansea was watched by 6013. Yes our attendance was shit, but it was a lot closer to City attendances then than it is now!

Closer maybe, still less than us, standard. For the final ever game at that so say ‘glorious home’ that all gasheads adored and that’s all you could muster? Pitiful, much like your entire history really.

  3. Anyone follow Michelle Owen from SSN on instagram?

She was covering the Sags game tonight and gave a little insight on behind the scenes on her story, and yes it’s safe to say it’s just as shit as what’s on show, appalling facilities. She had to climb through a SKYLIGHT which had a step ladder attached to it just to get to the gantry! How health and safety haven’t shut that place down yet I’ll never know.

From a BBC article on Sunderland's plight. That other lot from north of the river must be finding it strange that they'd mention the biggest teams in League One for comparison. Must be to make the drop look less painful for those poor Sunderland fans...

They are always complaining about not getting national recognition, and here it is their time has come.

  5. Just had a gander on slagchat and came across a thread about Bristol Bears, one sag who’s a ‘lifelong’ Bristol rugby supporter, goes on to have a moan about SL and Bristol Sport etc then goes onto say he’s off down the rec to watch Bath :rofl2br:

Classy, as ever. Gaschat, re. MT.

'Wouldn't piss on him if I came across him on fire in a car accident with his missus. I would Snapchat film it with the gif of Bobby Reid with a fire extinguisher.'

Fucking belters the lot of them, all was funny when he turnt his boyhood club down and took the piss out of them to stay at the sags though wasn’t it.

Tables turn and we sign him and take the piss in the best possible way and they hate it, abuse him and his family so he has to move house etc.

Love it how it still boils their piss :laughcont:

Look at the state of him. What goes through his mind when deciding he wants to look like that

Truly baffling why anyone would want to make themselves look like a homeless person, perhaps he was one of the ones being paid under the minimum and after training heads to Cabot Circus and his 2nd income comes through professional begging?

Got to feel for the guy really, he's the only thing about the club that is near league one level but he hasn't been given the chance to escape...

Not sure he helps himself with regarding a move to a bigger club, could well be a lovely man like Wally but in the media spotlight he just makes him self look a prized *****.

And buried just under the date debacle, is a news story entitled, 'Club Statement's although Club Sentence maybe more appropriate. Apparently Ian Holtby (Who?) has left the building.

Shocking attempt at a statement that!

    Legal matters involved I reckon.

We all know hoe 'lovely' Wael is but even he can't sell that I should think!!

£3.2M in interest alone, each and every year BEFORE any equity is paid off?

    OUCH!!!!

I think it’s all Bull as it usually is with anything coming out of Whorefield, Higgs probably told Wally when he took over that the pikeys believe anything you say to just string them along.

Cant wait to see how it ends, it won’t be pretty I’m sure of it.

We’ve got a few related things here. On the one hand is how much the capital will cost the company. Any self-respecting CFO will know this, made of of the blended cost of equity and cost of borrowing. Let’s assume this investment would be entirely financed. Any investor will want a rate of return based on the risk free rate (what is available risk-free, usually the return on 25 yr government bonds) plus the credit risk premium that relates to the company, the investment, the industry etc. Risk free rate  is going to be about 2.8%, credit risk premium is really hard - heavily indebted company not currently making a profit, industry probably past peak revenues BUT the lending would be secured on the new asset.

Moot point, would the new asset plus the eventual sale of the Minimal cover the current plus new debt?

Then you have the issue if having an old stadium while the new one is built - costs go up considerably in the short term, this really hurt Arsenal so heaven knows what it does to a small club.

I’d say they’d be lucky to get away with an interest rate of less than 8%. That means each million costs £80k a year in interest alone, and the investment also has to be paid back at some point.

Payingf for the ‘80k’s’ is not a simple income generation issue. It’s virtaully unheard of for each £1 of additional revenue to add £1 to the coffers. So what margin will these ‘new income streams’ generate? We know that Ashton Gate now generates lots of new income but it’s hard to say what profit each activity delivers, though the club will know (obviously). We’ve got first mover advantage so Sags would be trying to attract market share away from an established supplier. Maybe they undercut us in their new megabowl, except that hurts margin and they’ve got all those £80ks to pay....

i wouldn’t want to have to write this an investment proposal!

So in other words, **** all chance it will ever happen.

    Let them rot.

I was actually quoting @Cheesleysmate, who said (in reference to the Rovers video:

'I've got it. I've got pretty much every gift they have given, including the Soccer Saturday highlights with Jeff saying those immortal words "and it is ALL OVER for Bristol Rovers". Beautiful.'

I remember seeing it at the time and feeling so embarrassed for the young lad, trying to share his exhuberance at their forthcoming millions, but being 'outshone' by his father.

    Sorry my bad haha!

Just seen this gem on gaschat!!

75k if needed, just to clarify that’s basically Old Trafford!  Amazing

    http://gaschat.co.uk/thread/11894/consulted-on-stadium?page=2

If the ambition is to compete at the top of the championship and beyond then a new stadium elsewhere will be needed.
A 20,000 stadium with the space to allow it to become 75,000 in the future as needed.

I find it hilarious how some of them (including serial bullshitter - HenburyGas) still believe that the funding is there for the new stadium.

All because Wally said so. Such a lovely bloke.

Not sure, I do know they sold a whopping 5,400 for this season....but fair play to them, they also do sell a ‘flexi ticket’ where you pay £140 in advance and then you can choose 10 home games to attend as the season progresses....they also do a 5 game flexi ticket for £70...and you can decide up to 1.30pm on the day of a game whether you want to attend or not. For people with difficult work shift patterns and uncertain home life arrangements etc, this seems pretty good...

They only do it because they never sell out the Mem (ticket wise anyway)

Memorial Stadium Condemned  Today and Tomorrow

The Memorial Stadium will be condemned from Midday today and all of tomorrow due to severe  weather bringing the possibility of vast improvements.

The Club Shop will remain closed on Saturday morning also as money has gone missing again. Literally thousands of supporters are expected to be locked out.

There is a chance that Santas Grotto will open to cash in on the freak weather conditions.

Fans are encouraged to come and use the pitch as a make shift ice rink. It's expected to be the only entertaining thing on the pitch for the remainder of 2018.

The tents are expected to gather a lot of snow on the roofs and collapse, breaking hundreds of white plastic patio chairs.

By the time the snow thaws there will be no grass left at all, just a brown muddy mess which will no doubt lead to more racist remarks from the prowed fan base who are held in deep affection by everyone in England except gurt Teds.

Wally will be returning from Jordan next week where it is hoped that his radiant smile will melt the snow just as it has melted the hearts of the faithful and true.

    Quality stuff @Cheesleysmate :rofl2br:
