    Excellent win.

For those who slag off Max, Hull had 2 keepers tonight & both were shite.

Terrible goalkeeping for Mehmeti’s goal & the sub keeper looked absolutely shocking.

Just because Hull may have keepers who are shite, that doesnt therefore make Max any better or worse, without true competition from an experienced, commanding keeper we will not truly know his ceiling. If we truly want to kick on we will need as mentioned above, doing so will make Max a better keeper, personally Id like us to look to Europe for a keeper, get us a gert big bastard with experience.

Agree with all your point Fox.

However with regards to Leicesters decisionmto rappoint Nige meant your owners didn't have too big of an ego trip.

Sadly Lansdown seems to have such a fragile ego where he sacked NP in the first place, and the last time he attracted criticism he spieled the old "its MY club" card.

If he wasn't English there'd be more than one comparison with a certain Vincent Tan.

Sadly can't see him admitting any mistake. Wish he'd just sell. Him expecting what he values Brilstol Sport at means thats not happening any time soon either. Delusional. Him, Tinnion, and his Son. None of them at all qualified.

Tann has been extremely successful though, if it meant we got promoted to the prem and reached the fa cup final but played in say; yellow for a few months then I'd take that all day long. As far as football club owners go, Mr L is a huge failure.

I'm thinking our Board thought "Hey, do you remember when Steve Cooper took over at Forest and they were bottom or thereabouts. Well he got them promoted later on that season. We aren't bottom so Manning has a 'headstart' on Cooper, so we will tell him it's achievable so get on with it"

The board and useless owners of this club think one thing; Luton got promoted and weve got a better stadium, superior training facilities, excellent academy, top 6 squad and now a fantastic young coach.......promotion is a given.....and therein lies the problem.

Success for us as supporters of this club IMHO will only come when we have a change of owner, and the sooner that happens the better.

Agree with you on Weimann, consistently underwhelming. Worked hard today chasing and closing down, but never provided any real linkage from m/f to attack - something Knight does. OOC end of the season and for me, should be released.

Wells however, has better movement and more ability to hold the ball and bring others into play, than any of our other forwards. Also brings out the best in Conway. In contract to end of next season and I for one, hope he is fit to return to action soon.

Wells and Conway as a partnership are fantastic IMHO, I feel like Tommy is not the same player without Wells, they are a real handful for most defences at this level on their day.

  5. Last time I went to see City at Oxford must have been late 90's early 2000 ish and to this very day it is still the most boring game I can remember

The shenanigans that came before and if I remember correctly after the game were quite the opposite with a few Oxford lads getting a bit of a hiding after running up an alleyway which happened to be w dead end.

Still a very nice city is Oxford but like most places in the UK it has its problems.

Station 15 mins walk from the ground , good food , done Huddersfield a few times always a decent ( cheap pint ) walking through town from the station and pies are good ( all pies up north are good in my opinion )

oh and it’s gets bloody cold aswell

It's already cold, I really noticed it "turn" yesterday.

I'm just hoping I'm bobbing about with excitement as LM Bristol City football gets me out of my seat!!!

  7. Unfortunately he has cost us goals which has meant points, he's not good enough consistently for a championship team with aspirations to challenge at the top end of the league.

Definitely an area we need to improve on in January, fat chance of that though!!!!

Looks very likely that the new head coach won't have been appointed by Saturday, which is quite surprising when you consider

    a) they've already been considering Nige's replacement for over three weeks

    b) Jon said that for the first time in over 20 years of running the club they have absolute clarity on the type of head coach they want

I understand they need to be diligent, and in fairness a not outrageous period of time has passed since Nige's sacking, but you really would have thought they'd at least be very close to an appointment by now - and I'm not getting those vibes.

May I jog your memory back to the 6 weeks of deliberation that brought about the unveiling of Holden....... unbelievably an internal appointment!

Who really knows what is going on with these clowns in charge!

We have also recently played Leeds and Leicester away. How on earth did we expect to win.

On my way home after the Leeds game (I live in Leeds), I listened to Leeds supporters talk about the game and the one thing that was being said about us was how we were the only team they'd played in a long time that had turned up and had a real go and how well organised a team we are. I couldn't help myself explain about our injury crisis and lack of investment, I was met with surprise and maybe even a bit of animosity towards a regime that wouldn't back a manager of Pearson's experience, desire and proven ability to succeed, what at first struck me as an arrogant comment now seems more honest and knowledgeable "I don't think you'll get a better manager at a club like Bristol City" never more has that comment seemed so true than now.

What does he know, he was one of the worst City manager/coaches ever, remember the 9 goals conceded against Swansea and him crying in the middle of the pitch after a great player for us,  but should have never come back to us.  It was the old boys game again, in my opinion, a trouble maker.

He's done a great job with the academy but he should never be able to manage the team but anything to save a penny.

  11. MY GUESS is that Luton are going to be the excuse for such a disgusting decision.

Maybe SL believes we were well overdue promotion as we spent way more than them, were a bigger club, better facilities therefore NP wasn't doing well enough and he wouldn't spend anymore money chasing something unattainable with the current staff unless we were unbelievably successful and in a strong position and maybe still in a cup.

Is it that a new investee has their terms of engagement and this is step one of it, if so we're stepping backwards so SL can get a bit of financial return (from his loss) which is just completely selfish if true, or is it a cost cutting episode to replace Nige with BT AGAIN, nothing would surprise me as this buffoon makes mistakes again and again and never learns, football is not for him.

I'm grateful for the academy and 3 sides of a decent stadium but it's time to **** off but it's almost guaranteed he won't leave until the end of the season just before we get relegated back to where he left us!!!

His legacy will be a fantastic stadium and facilities, and the base for someone else to come in and take us to the next level.

Its only fantastic if you compare it to The Mem, its really not that great, if the Atyeo ever gets replaced then itll be fantastic, but as we all know, thats never going to happen, a bit like us getting promoted!

Can't remember the context but he did say one time "I'm not paying for other peoples' beer". He was quite annoyed about something. It wasn't in the same context as you've noted, but I do remember him saying it and I found it quite funny.

He's right, I don't see why he should.

He's a billionaire and owner of a football club, it would have been a gesture and a way of showing his appreciation of the hundreds of miles those supporters had travelled that season, he wouldn't have been there if we hadn't been in the position we were in, that's for sure.

Happy enough to lap up the praise and be part of the celebrations but not happy enough to make a tiny gesture to those very fans.

  14. So when is the press conference to announce that after long consideration and with all the fantastic work he has done at the club we are delighted to announce Brian Tinnion as new club manager!

This wouldn't surprise me at all, it also wouldn't surprise me that this would be the first BT or NP would find out this news!!!

Steve was at the rugby tonight answering all sorts of questions and was buying rounds of beer for anyone who wanted one and there was plenty

I remember Crewe away in our promotion season under Cotts when SL was doing some kind of speech in a pub and I asked him if he was going to stick his card behind the bar and he quietly said to me something along the lines of "maybe when we get promoted to the prem" or words to that effect. I thought well that's how much he values our support, he couldn't spend a few hundred quid on the supporters, it left a bitter taste and reflective distain for him, it's only got more bitter as time has gone on for me.

  16. PYoung Tommy wouldn't be half the player he is without the influence of Mr Wells.

I remember thinking what an unbelievable partnership they'd formed when they absolutely terrorised Blackburn away last season.

    I hope he's back soon.

Maybe the haters will understand his worth when they see Cornick lead the attack instead.

One of the most incredibly gifted players ever for me.
But, his career leaves a lot to be desired.
The level of his talent should have us talking about him as one of the all time greats, but he failed to regularly hit the heights.

All I’ll really remember him for is pushing the ballboy at Swansea 🤣

And quite how Belgium didn’t get to a final with Hazard, De Bruyne, Kompany, Lukaku, Courtois is astounding.

American owners with a bag of cash to spend immediately and clearly spent it wisely.

Unlike us and our poor owner who's penyless and needed to keep all the money from the Scott sale!

As a Leeds resident I thought id walk at least part way home so it would be easier for my Mrs to pick me up after the traffic had died down a bit and I'd had time cool off more to the point!

Anyway, I got chatting to some Leeds fans, a rare breed that were not full of a false sense of entitlement, here's the short version of what was said: first team to come and have a real go, why did you get rid of Ayling, thought your owner was a Billionaire or is that the other Bristol lot, worst keeper seen at Elland Rd for years, you won't go down, we lacked quality up top.

I think they were all fair points, I pointed out that the other lots owner just has a nice watch, couldn't disagree about keeper, LJ sold Ayling...say no more!!! Tommy is quality but been out for a while, no we hopefully won't go down but without spending money on 3/4 players of good quality we won't go near the play offs this season and next season we will probably have lost our best players and an excellent manager.

Whilst I expect nothing less than a loss today, I didn't think that the gap between the two teams was so big, I also heard a rumour that made me more despondent than ever, rumours are just that though.

Well fought City, unfortunately I see another season of championship football again next season, could be worse, we could be........
