Yes, I agree. It tallies with what I suppose I've known for a while but thought it not appropriate to say. Unfortunately, we are in yet another scenario where the home truths delivered by the manager of the day have not gone down well with The Lansdowns.

The last two managers to have a difficult relationship with The Lansdowns were SOD and Cotterill and neither lasted more than two years.

Barring a change of ownership it'll be the same for Pearson. With the father and son managerial Double Act patiently waiting in the wings (that would be less of a surprise to me than NP being here come what August. I thank al that the Lansdowns have done for the club but we are going only one place with them in chance.........

Realistically, you can't have a wannabe-successful club with everyone pulling in the same direction when your chairman (and son of owner) are in public disagreement with the manager.

    Frustrating, but entirely predictable.

    So sad.

You are 100% spot on. Distinctly average at this level.

    Probably not even that.

If he is the answer, then wtf is the question.

I appreciate his contribution for us over the years, but Scott, James, Williams all can play the central role to a more distinguished level. (IMHO).

    Season’s greetings fellow-Reds.
The game being off tomorrow is a double-edged sword for me ?

If you read my OP for the Huddersfield match day thread you might recall I was in New York City with my family for a pre-Christmas holiday. Thankfully, my wife and daughters are safely home, however, I tested positive on Wednesday so I’m doing ten days solitary in a really grim Air B and B in Brooklyn. Tomorrow’s game was something to look forward to watching on Robins TV and a good performance/result (however unlikely) would certainly have lifted my spirits ?. As for the double-edged sword a poor performance/result would have only made a miserable situation even worse!

Just for a giggle here’s a picture of my Christmas lunch - drink up thee zider!

However you are spending this Christmastime enjoy yourself. Thank you fellow OTIBers for making this forum the remarkable place it is.

Where about  in Kings County are you JB?

My fave of the 5 Boroughs by far.

  5. Living in Leeds really gives you a proper perception of the teams following; .I can't leave the house and go to the local shop without seeing a Leeds shirt, they really do follow their Citys cause, its pretty impressive, if I'm honest, I'm a little bit jealous that they have the city to themselves (to a lesser state I remember living in Cardiff and feeling the same, although the difference is incomprehensible).

If things keep going the way they are, small teams will find it increasingly hard to survive unless they have a GENUINE benefactor, or receive success soon. I don't think the council/political Bristol would allow the gas to fold, as much as id love to see it I doubt it will happen in my lifetime, unless City become very successful and soon, hmmmmmm!

Ashton Gate is the least hostile ground in the league. I'm genuinely amazed there was aggro as most of the ground sit on their ass in silence all game. Teams love playing here.

Too true, and to think what it used to be like.

I have mates from a few different clubs who say that Ashton Gate/Bristol City Away was one of the scariest away days they attended.

Unfortunately now, the whole experience is a sanitised Disney World day out, its no wonder the players play with so little bite and enthusiasm.

So when he talks about bigger clubs, is he now talking about the likes of Forest Green Rovers; and Port Vale?

Christ, quite how far have the Gas dropped that their manager considered those type of clubs "Bigger".

What's the plan for next year Joey when the 5 loans, and 15+ players are either OOC or at the end of their 1 year deals. Go.out and buy another 20 players?

They need to build a team, not just employ a group of scousers who used to play for Fleetwood; and are mates with the Manager.

Why change it, I think it's going rather well, could do better, agreed; stapled to the foot of the league with a 30 point point deduction would be the better option: but hey ho there's always next season.

  8. Cracking away support for a winter mid week game half way up the country too.

We took 800ish against Bradford for the game that clinched promotion from league one to the championship, that puts it into perspective for me.

    Respect where its due IMHO.
