For those going to Rotherham; https://boards.footymad.net/showthread.php?t=38310487

"It’s bring a friend for a fiver, not guaranteed to be sat at side of you or even in same stand laugh.gif but still at good game for them to watch"

hmm; does that also apply to visiting fans? Red & white scarf, carry a whippet and utter "Eeh bah gumm" and you're in!

Have you ever thought of being a comedian in your spare time!

The reason he’s put so much money in is because he’s ran the club so badly. His quarter of a century in charge of city has been nothing but a massive underachievement.

This is probably the best post I've ever read on this forum in regards to the running of OUR football club.

I remember how excited I was with the prospect of a BILLIONAIRE "fan" running out football club.

When he took a over there was no FFP, he could have bought our way to the premier league within 10 years and then built the ground around the success on the field. Its sad to think that I will probably never get to see my club play in top flight, definitely not in Europe or at Wembley for a major cup final. Its even worse when you think about the clubs that have achieved so much more than us and from such lowly positions.

It beggars belief that the guy has made so much money running a company that adheres to FSA regulations but can't run a football club into a successful position even before FFP came into the game, not that FFP should be an obstacle to a man with fiscal blood running through his veins.

I wonder who'll be the next club to pass us by from a lowly position, home to a shit stadium and a questionable foreign owner......oh GOD no.......nah...

Guess what? Nige knows what he’s doing.

Imagine if he was given the resources others in his role have had.

Great way to go into the international break.

It really makes me sad to think exactly that, wtf is SL playing at, even a small piece of the Scott money would have freed up wages for a free transfer or a loanee or 3, AHH another case at Bristol City of what could have been!

Cornick putting in a good shift, God knows why he didn't start him, he reminds me of Mark Viduka in his style. COYRs

Its pretty clear that Wells should start in the middle, we need to accommodate a fit Tommy next to Wells as those 2 formed a really dangerous partnership, Cornick off the bench is a nice option, did well when he came on but I think Bells pace justified his start as he pinned back any danger they tried to create down that side, anonymous going forward though.

Millwall may have been a one off for them, bigger sample size needed IMO due to the unique circs surrounding the sad passing of their owner and it being the first (League) home game of their sesson.

I do agree however- 2k, 2.5k tops, segregation, then as much as possible to our fans in the Atyeo would be my ideal medium term benchmark. Cup rules on allocation may make it a bit difficult but League sure.

Would have to be looked at again if we ever go up due to PL away allocation requirements which are 3k or 10 pct of capacity whichever is less.

I've just picked myself up off the floor after a fit of hysterical laughter, it's the bit where you reference us being promoted to the PL, I'd put a large suitcase of cash that someone like Wrexham will get there before us, unless we get new owners?

  6. The loss of Scott is more apparent than ever, there's nothing to link the play, no single way of bringing the ball forward from defence to midfield.

On the plus side we have Conway to come back, that maybe the answer but probably only if we go long and bypass midfield, unless we sign an attacking midfielder who can link play and carry the ball forward, we may need whodini to find one we can afford though.

    Its only one half though....

I met him at a social event once and he was relaxed, humorous, self-depreciating, friendly.  We bantered over a beer, but there was no real dislike. When you live in the Bristol area, you end up with Gas mates, Gas workmates, sometimes Gas relatives. You can joke about it and take the piss, but ultimately, they are just fans of another team: some are nice people, some are utter throbbers - the same mixture as our own fanbase.

It's the club I can't stand - not its supporters, deluded though many of them are.

He's in the past been quite vocal of his hatred for 'da shit" in the press so when my mate bought him a pint of half cider & half piss it was no surprise that the true gashead drank half of it before realising what was the added ingredient. No love lost from me or my mate come to think of it!!!

Hopefully it turns out a world of pain for them but I still believe it can be constructed within 3 weeks to complete. After all it is temp seating. Although they better get a move on as if they are waiting for planning consent then they could be waiting a while.

Either way it's going to be dawning on them soon.

Glamorgan used to have a lot of temporary seating that was I believe slided in for bigger games etc, I sat at the top of one of those "stands" and you could feel the thing lift, hopefully theirs will blow into the home stand (tent/big top) and crush nobody (a few...sorry) maybe a few pasting tables & some fake Fanta from the catering stall!

When Joey Barton retires from football, I can see him going down the far right conspiracy weirdo influencer path in an attempt to stay relevant. In fact I’d bet on it. He won’t want to go quietly.

Thought he gave up football years ago!

  10. I went to the opening night of this a while back as my mate is Vinny Jones cousin. Both men are still very engaging on a 121 basis, Vinny obviously being more of a mate now you forget what a huge Hollywood star he is, the guy is a gent and a great laugh, Gazza has his good and bad days with his demons.

I thought the show was hilarious, if not a bit disjointed at times, although that could be down to be seated with a certain Mr Bellew, another nice guy.

Shame that the pass for the first came from his side and the finish for the second came from his side. He looked good but those two moments will potentially make it seem otherwise.

pretty sure it was Bell that was at fault for the first, honestly can't remember the second.
