  1. You can tell hes had experience of mens football. Good command of his box, caught everything that has come in. Very good on the floor as well, reflexes haven't been tested but looks a good prospect. From tonight, him, Anderson (playing lwb) and Owusu-Antwi (playing rwb) have stood out imo
  2. 4-0 up now, difference in quality really starting to show. Not sure many have been a 'level' above but as a team its been a seriously professional performance. Very impressed with the City keeper, Casa-Grande. Seems to have everything you need from a modern keeper
  3. 2-0 at half time. Nobody really standing out for City so far, Owusu-Antwi is rapid and looks dangerous when he gets on the ball, but has seen very little of it thus far. Interesting thing of note is we are playing 3-4-1-2. Always thought academy teams mirrored the first teams formation?
  4. Without wanting to be too much of a pedant, we've not taken 1500 our last two trips, 1200 and 800 in fact. That being said, less than 500 for one of their closest away games is pitiful. Laughable numbers
  5. u23s/18s are 2 up at Manor farm after 20 minutes. Goals from Owusu-Antwi (superb finish after a lovely cross) and Hutton (tap in after some disastrous defending). Being outmuscled a bit (as expected) but playing some nice stuff so far
  6. Realise he's not the most popular figure any more, but it was Maynard for me. A 3 way debate between him, Webster and Tammy, but Maynard in 08-10 is about complete as a striker gets, scored every single type of goal. Run very close by the other 2
  7. Wilson could be in the u23 squad playing Manor Farm tonight to be fair, would be a bit of a step down for him!
  8. Just for the interest of balance, the last time we travelled to Plymouth in the league was also a Tuesday night 13 years ago. We took 800 for what was our 3rd away game in 7 days (as well as Palace and Reading). Incomparable really
  9. I see their striker was voted League One Player of the Year last night, a 300k release clause anybody?
  10. Fun afternoon out, can see a clear togetherness in the team which will be pivotal next year. Thought they played some very nice stuff in the second half especially, huge step up next season but they should enjoy today first!
  11. Manor Farm 2-1 up, Hamworthy player sent off for taking a throw in directly into a Manor Farm players face. A very bizarre red card!
  12. That clip also misses the headbut that apparently followed the tackle. The Barton influence is clearly paying off..
  13. Manor Farm currently 3-2 up in their relegation 6 pointer v Cinderford in more local news
  14. Those gurt teds have clearly invaded the away end again!
  15. Very last minute but due to illness have 2 tickets available for tonight in the south stand. Not looking for anything for them, DM if interested!
  16. Barely noticed him last night, which is all you can ask for from a referee. If anything, we got reasonably lucky with the Wigan Penalty shout and the tanner yellow card, both incidents could have gone against us with a different ref
  17. County have recently started doing a few very cheap games in order to entice new fans (pay what you want, 5 quid for adults etc). Its about the only way they can keep crowds up. That being said, they are still a well supported, big club and so have enough of a pull, even when they're in the conference. Rovers on the other hand would be finished if we went up, unlike County they have nothing going for them and with their ground and league position, that isn't going to change
  18. This is one of the key reasons why so many women don't come forward in the first place having been sexually assaulted or raped. I read recently that 97% of women over 16 have been or will be sexually assaulted, yet so few try to prosecute, and attitudes like this are one of the key reasons. One of my closest friends was raped 3 years ago. She never took it to the police because she knew that nothing would come of it, and she feared she would be accused of wasting police time, just like you're saying here. That doesn't take away from the hell that that night has caused her since, resulting in trauma that will never fully go away. As you say, Greenwood wasn't found guilty. But, like with the vast, vast majority of incidences of sexual assault and rape, that doesn't make him innocent, and it certainly doesn't make his partner a liar. That outlook causes so many issues for women who have been through what she's been through
  19. 6-0 win for Johnson today v Aberdeen, perhaps a winning streak is on its way... https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/64356678
  20. A poorer hand than McIness and O'Driscoll inherited? And thats only in the last decade...
  21. God, if you hated our 2nd most successful period in 40 years (league table wise), you must be hating life as a City fan right now! In all seriousness, have always found the last point interesting. People are all over Johnson like a rash for the stuff that went wrong (of which there was a fair bit) and yet refuse to give him any credit for the stuff he did right. Never really sat well with me that to be honest
  22. Good to see our twitter page showing an interest in lower league football...
  23. 4-3 down in the 94th minute, the gift
  24. Has he though? Considering the fanfare he brought with him, the experience he has and the contacts he has in the game, we are no better off than we were when Holden left. Pearson will presumably get the January window to improve things but tactically, considering the calibre of manager, there’s no ‘clear improvement’ that I can see on the pitch
  25. Would class that as more of a jibe than a blatantly derogatory word to be honest
