Decent, steady keeper for the level we were at. Luckily for him, the only competition he had really was an ageing Mike Stowell, and a string of reserve Premiership keepers on short term loans to cover for injury. All of whom funnily enough ended up being far superior keepers than him - Boaz Myhill and Ben Foster to name two off the top of my head (sure there's at least 1 more I can't remember as I'm knackered).

His downfall was Basso, and getting all Billy big bollocks once he actually lost his spot in the team. Had he kept his mouth shut and welcomed the competition, he could probably have improved himself as well, but no, threw his toys out of the pram and wanted out.

He rightfully lost his place in the team, and almost immediately we looked far more comfortable with Basso in the side, and even he had his flaws.

Shame it turned out the way it did for Philips, because he wasn't a bad keeper.

Didn't we have John Ruddy as well at one stage around that time?

  2. Back in November their CEO wrote this: 'As all supporters will be aware, at the start of this season, we received a capacity reduction due to incidents at the end of last season, so these actions were required to mitigate future sanctions. This action resulted in a maximum capacity of 9,832.'

Yet I see they are now crowing about having a crowd of over 10k for this weekend (for the first time since 2019 apparently...)

How can they reduce the capacity to 9.8k and yet fit 10k in there when it pleases them once a season?

  3. Exciting one personally for this, signed up here as the Joe Bryan Fan Club (JBFC) so my 15 year old self would be incredibly excited at the prospect of us signing him again!

Remember vividly one of his earliest games v Palace in the cup, being a QEH pupil I’d made a flag with a fellow City fan/classmate which we held out pre match on the touch line. Scotty spotted it and told Joe who came trotting over for photos and autographs, genuinely lovely bloke and made two young City fans very happy!

This one makes sense for a lot of reasons, hopefully he makes his return here

Casa-Grande has been playing at Manor Farm level on loan. Has had good reviews.

You can tell hes had experience of mens football. Good command of his box, caught everything that has come in.

Very good on the floor as well, reflexes haven't been tested but looks a good prospect. From tonight, him, Anderson (playing lwb) and Owusu-Antwi (playing rwb) have stood out imo

  5. 4-0 up now, difference in quality really starting to show. Not sure many have been a 'level' above but as a team its been a seriously professional performance.

Very impressed with the City keeper, Casa-Grande. Seems to have everything you need from a modern keeper

  6. 2-0 at half time. Nobody really standing out for City so far, Owusu-Antwi is rapid and looks dangerous when he gets on the ball, but has seen very little of it thus far.

Interesting thing of note is we are playing 3-4-1-2. Always thought academy teams mirrored the first teams formation?

In all seriousness though, those deluded t*ats really believe they have a bigger away support than us. I've been to Plymouth many times over the years, midweek, weekend, City flying high, City struggling etc and we've never had less than 1500 down there. 480 is absolute dogsh*t.

Without wanting to be too much of a pedant, we've not taken 1500 our last two trips, 1200 and 800 in fact.

That being said, less than 500 for one of their closest away games is pitiful. Laughable numbers

  8. u23s/18s are 2 up at Manor farm after 20 minutes. Goals from Owusu-Antwi (superb finish after a lovely cross) and Hutton (tap in after some disastrous defending). Being outmuscled a bit (as expected) but playing some nice stuff so far

  9. Barely noticed him last night, which is all you can ask for from a referee.

If anything, we got reasonably lucky with the Wigan Penalty shout and the tanner yellow card, both incidents could have gone against us with a different ref

Too true. Imagine living in Nottingham and just getting interested in football. Who are you going to watch; Forest or County?

County have recently started doing a few very cheap games in order to entice new fans (pay what you want, 5 quid for adults etc). Its about the only way they can keep crowds up.

That being said, they are still a well supported, big club and so have enough of a pull, even when they're in the conference.

Rovers on the other hand would be finished if we went up, unlike County they have nothing going for them and with their ground and league position, that isn't going to change

Should throw the book at HER. If he didn't do (I don't believe this) she has wasted so much police time,.money and effort, surely grounds for prosecution

This is one of the key reasons why so many women don't come forward in the first place having been sexually assaulted or raped. I read recently that 97% of women over 16 have been or will be sexually assaulted, yet so few try to prosecute, and attitudes like this are one of the key reasons.

One of my closest friends was raped 3 years ago. She never took it to the police because she knew that nothing would come of it, and she feared she would be accused of wasting police time, just like you're saying here. That doesn't take away from the hell that that night has caused her since, resulting in trauma that will never fully go away.

As you say, Greenwood wasn't found guilty. But, like with the vast, vast majority of incidences of sexual assault and rape, that doesn't make him innocent, and it certainly doesn't make his partner a liar. That outlook causes so many issues for women who have been through what she's been through
