Huge win for Manor farm, 2-0 v Saltash, to confirm southern league status. On the anniversary of Geoff Sellek's death thats a huge result in front of just shy of 400

Manor Farm currently 1 up on Saltash in the play off. Thunderbolt by Robbins (left back) on the 30 minute mark. Nervy game in front of a pretty packed creek

Casa-Grande has been playing at Manor Farm level on loan. Has had good reviews.
You can tell hes had experience of mens football. Good command of his box, caught everything that has come in.
Very good on the floor as well, reflexes haven't been tested but looks a good prospect. From tonight, him, Anderson (playing lwb) and Owusu-Antwi (playing rwb) have stood out imo

4-0 up now, difference in quality really starting to show. Not sure many have been a 'level' above but as a team its been a seriously professional performance.
Very impressed with the City keeper, Casa-Grande. Seems to have everything you need from a modern keeper

2-0 at half time. Nobody really standing out for City so far, Owusu-Antwi is rapid and looks dangerous when he gets on the ball, but has seen very little of it thus far.
Interesting thing of note is we are playing 3-4-1-2. Always thought academy teams mirrored the first teams formation?

In all seriousness though, those deluded t*ats really believe they have a bigger away support than us. I've been to Plymouth many times over the years, midweek, weekend, City flying high, City struggling etc and we've never had less than 1500 down there. 480 is absolute dogsh*t.
Without wanting to be too much of a pedant, we've not taken 1500 our last two trips, 1200 and 800 in fact.
That being said, less than 500 for one of their closest away games is pitiful. Laughable numbers

u23s/18s are 2 up at Manor farm after 20 minutes. Goals from Owusu-Antwi (superb finish after a lovely cross) and Hutton (tap in after some disastrous defending). Being outmuscled a bit (as expected) but playing some nice stuff so far

Realise he's not the most popular figure any more, but it was Maynard for me. A 3 way debate between him, Webster and Tammy, but Maynard in 08-10 is about complete as a striker gets, scored every single type of goal. Run very close by the other 2

Wilson could be in the u23 squad playing Manor Farm tonight to be fair, would be a bit of a step down for him!

Just for the interest of balance, the last time we travelled to Plymouth in the league was also a Tuesday night 13 years ago. We took 800 for what was our 3rd away game in 7 days (as well as Palace and Reading). Incomparable really

I see their striker was voted League One Player of the Year last night, a 300k release clause anybody?

Manor Farm 2-1 up,
Hamworthy player sent off for taking a throw in directly into a Manor Farm players face. A very bizarre red card!

That could have been two red cards, one for the right foot then one for the follow up with the left. Shocking.
That clip also misses the headbut that apparently followed the tackle. The Barton influence is clearly paying off..

Manor Farm currently 3-2 up in their relegation 6 pointer v Cinderford in more local news

Very last minute but due to illness have 2 tickets available for tonight in the south stand.
Not looking for anything for them, DM if interested!

Barely noticed him last night, which is all you can ask for from a referee.
If anything, we got reasonably lucky with the Wigan Penalty shout and the tanner yellow card, both incidents could have gone against us with a different ref

Too true. Imagine living in Nottingham and just getting interested in football. Who are you going to watch; Forest or County?
County have recently started doing a few very cheap games in order to entice new fans (pay what you want, 5 quid for adults etc). Its about the only way they can keep crowds up.
That being said, they are still a well supported, big club and so have enough of a pull, even when they're in the conference.
Rovers on the other hand would be finished if we went up, unlike County they have nothing going for them and with their ground and league position, that isn't going to change

Should throw the book at HER. If he didn't do (I don't believe this) she has wasted so much police time,.money and effort, surely grounds for prosecution
This is one of the key reasons why so many women don't come forward in the first place having been sexually assaulted or raped. I read recently that 97% of women over 16 have been or will be sexually assaulted, yet so few try to prosecute, and attitudes like this are one of the key reasons.
One of my closest friends was raped 3 years ago. She never took it to the police because she knew that nothing would come of it, and she feared she would be accused of wasting police time, just like you're saying here. That doesn't take away from the hell that that night has caused her since, resulting in trauma that will never fully go away.
As you say, Greenwood wasn't found guilty. But, like with the vast, vast majority of incidences of sexual assault and rape, that doesn't make him innocent, and it certainly doesn't make his partner a liar. That outlook causes so many issues for women who have been through what she's been through

Can we be clear that our problem lies with the owner not the Manager who, imo, Has done a great deal with the poorest hand any manager has inherited
A poorer hand than McIness and O'Driscoll inherited? And thats only in the last decade...

No, crap player - couldn't defend, couldn't tackle, bottled 50/50 challenges, no assists, no goals,GJ had him on all free kicks and corners and we never scored from them. Handed a playing career by his father, handed a managerial career by Lansdown, he hid behind the continual churn of signings by saying he needed more players/clubs in the bag, then said they need more time to integrate, then 6 months to learn " the passing patterns", then wanted more players, more leaders, . A complete fraud. His subsequent jobs have been failures, Sunderland got rid, and he's been a disaster at Hibs with their fanbase only talking 6 months to unanimously call for his head.
5 clubs, won nothing, done nothing.
The one short decent spell at City (Man U game etc) was because injuries forced him to play Reid and Patterson up front and he couldn't tinker or go long. ..as soon as Diedhiou was fit he started chopping and changing and lost that momentum.
A total fraud.
God, if you hated our 2nd most successful period in 40 years (league table wise), you must be hating life as a City fan right now!
In all seriousness, have always found the last point interesting. People are all over Johnson like a rash for the stuff that went wrong (of which there was a fair bit) and yet refuse to give him any credit for the stuff he did right. Never really sat well with me that to be honest

Joe Bryan - Signed for Millwall
in All Things Ex Players and Managers
Posted
Exciting one personally for this, signed up here as the Joe Bryan Fan Club (JBFC) so my 15 year old self would be incredibly excited at the prospect of us signing him again!
Remember vividly one of his earliest games v Palace in the cup, being a QEH pupil I’d made a flag with a fellow City fan/classmate which we held out pre match on the touch line. Scotty spotted it and told Joe who came trotting over for photos and autographs, genuinely lovely bloke and made two young City fans very happy!
This one makes sense for a lot of reasons, hopefully he makes his return here
