Kids were on the pitch at Ashton Gate twice previously this season, not including Saturday. Assumption would be that at the very least parents/guardians didn't prevent, perhaps encouraged them who knows.
As for the wider point, don't condone it but different times. Excluding promotion, playoffs or staying up last home game, I remember at least two probably mainly kids on the pitch, Norwich in 1999 and definitely Preston in 2000. Unsure about subsequent dead rubbers but it has become progressively less acceptable over time. I remember those as they're my first 2 seasons.
One thing that has changed without a doubt is kids down the front shouting names of players during or after the game. For pictures, signed shirts or even an actual shirt.
Autograph books at the end of games was about the limit of it in previous but relatively modern times. I certainly don't remember kids running on the pitch in relatively modern times to try and wangle a players shirt.
Remember used to stand at the bottom of the dolman stand as a kid with a programme and a pen during the warm up and the players would come and sign- not everyone’s admittedly and would head back either to the warm up or back in the changing rooms - how life has changed!!

Quite simply the “budget” was less than previous managers had. If my calculations are right the cost this season will be the lowest since 16/17.
Exactly, and has to be taken into consideration when judging his recruitment. I’m sure if he had a bigger budget, the players brought in would be very different

The kind of quote we heard all season re his recruitment. At various stages I responded by asking whether it’s best to wait until the end of the season. Well, we are almost here…one week to go.
Here’s my view. Not meant to be right or wrong, so more rationale than “rating”
Fees Paid:
Atkinson: started well, suffered mid season through illness / form but has come back strong. More than happy with Rob.
Tanner: low expectations of minutes overall, and injuries have hampered progress, but looks a decent signing for the future.
Free Transfers:
James: a bit like Atkinson, started decently, mid-season injury, come back well. Probably more influential than we think.
King: just hadn’t played enough, although I thought he was decent when he played
Klose: bloody excellent
Re-signings:
Weimann: stellar, nothing else to add, other than done this on a smaller wage
Baker: was playing well until injury…such a shame. Was a risk, didn’t pay off
Simpson: poor signing, only mitigated by him being on a low salary / coaches salary.
My view is that although the above shows a mix of results, I would go with a positive overall (others may disagree), and I’d certainly have no issues with Nige making the decisions on who to sign this summer with limited budget.
It’s difficult to judge the summer recruitment without knowing the budget Pearson had.
I think on the whole it’s been ok, James and King for me were brought in for leadership in the dressing room. James has shown glimpses of quality and King unfortunately hasn’t been fit enough on a consistent basis.
Atkinson has been a decent signing with room for improvement. Tanner too early to judge.
Simpson has been an awful signing , for me should never have been brought in short or long term, personally don’t want someone with that conviction at my club. Simpson has been a stick with which many have beaten Pearson with.

Many of us were reminded to spend our “rewards” money over the last few weeks, and if like me, you browsed our website and looked at what was on offer in the Club shop - you were probably disappointed at the lack of choice compared to 10, 20 or 30 years ago.
I was having a quick look at the Hull website to see their reaction to yesterday’s game and a link for their ‘shop’ appeared - so I had a look.
What a huge difference in choice - 5 different choices of Polo shirts, 5 different choices of T shirts, numerous items under a fiver and many many more under a tenner from key rings, glasses, place mats, bedding and it goes on and on!!
Since the club shop (if you can really call it that) moved to the new location the choice has gone one way - down down down!!
Come on City - review your buying strategy and bring back choice for us City fans - the “Robin” logo is surely here to stay for the time being - so buy “accessories” and “gifts” which will have a shelf life of more than one season, whereas Team shirts will always change!
If in any need of inspiration - just look at the Hull club shop www.tigerleisure.com
I’ve contacted our SLO about the lack of products available in the club shop for a while now with absolutely no reply. With the financial position the club is in you’d think they would want to increase products available to generate extra income. We’re miles behind many clubs in merchandise. @Street redI live by Leeds and the club shop at the ground is well stocked and they have a club shop in the city centre (I appreciate they’re a bigger club and a bigger fan base than us) but their club shop is always busy. Our club shop is closed today and tomorrow and when I asked the reply was it’s a bank holiday weekend !!

Yeah what a game that will be if all stays the same tonight. I wonder also what financial situation Bournmouth would be in if they failed to secure promotion again this season?
Outside chance Huddersfield could be playing for automatic promotion last game of season

I think we will want more than £10m, nobody will offer what we want, and he will still be here next season.
Problem is clubs know our financial position and will look to take advantage of it. We may want £x for a player , the question is can the club afford to turn down a lower bid with where we are ?

Morning all,
Heading to Bristol next weekend and taking son to his first game at AG. Planning on something to do on the Friday and considering either Bristol Zoo or Longleat. I understand the zoo is being closed down and moved out of Clifton. Is the zoo still good value for money, or is longleat a better option. The lad is 2 and a half (almost)
Thanks in advance

They should prosecute the sad **** who posted that.
Should put the little ***** in front of ronaldo and his family and ask him to repeat his comments.
Just hope this is respected by both set of fans:
Manchester United have confirmed there will be a fan-led minute’s applause in the seventh-minute of tonight’s game at Liverpool.
The mark of recognition follows the loss of Cristiano Ronaldo’s new-born baby boy and is a gesture planned by fans of both clubs.
Both teams will also wear black armbands.

Must be just me then but I thoroughly enjoyed the game. Thought our commitment was spot on. Imo one of our best performance s of the season. A well deserved point against quality opposition.
Agree, thought we played well second half in particular - needed a bit of composure in front of goal or a better final ball

Zero sympathy , a great club ruined by the corrupt actions of Morris and Pearce. Yet the fans loved it at the time, thinking they were being cute. They were not, they were using the tax payers money to fund a (sadly legal) fraud.
I hope fans, with a renewed sense of humility , can now hope to find a buyer who will deal with another points deduction, a squad of 7 youngsters, no ground as we speak, and the confinement of a controlled business plan to rebuild a once proud club. They will.
Morris deserves a jail term but the weakness of our financial controls will mean that apart from sad Derby fans, every person in this country has paid a price for his fraud and he will retire to his hundreds of millions.
Owners like Morris and the guy at bury should be banned from running companies when they’ve created such a shambles at football clubs. It’s too easy for this owners to walk away with no penalty

Been announced his baby son has passed away , awfully sad news:
Cristiano Ronaldo and his partner have announced that their baby son has died.
Writing on Instagram, they said they are "devastated" and called it the "greatest pain that any parents can feel".

It’s not only Halifax.
Several years ago, I was shopping In Sainsbury’s when my toddler daughter, just three or four years old, told me she absolutely had to go to the toilet - she was no longer wearing nappies.
I tried initially to use the ladies toilets, but, unfortunately if perhaps understandably, I was told in no uncertain terms that I was not going to be allowed in - this was by the female clients, not security.
I received the most awful comments and threats when I chose the men’s toilets, but persevered, only to receive exactly the same when we left the (filthy) cubicle, and was abused and spat at whilst I was helping my daughter to wash her hands, and this by men who were leaving the toilets without so much as a second glance at the wash basins.
Very difficult to explain such behaviour to a young girl.
It’s shit that numpties are out and about and are everywhere

Unfortunately it isn’t just related to football , threatened by a group of four this afternoon will bring stabbed. Took our little lad whose two to the the toilet with me as potty training and trying to encourage, to be called a padeo and my son gay by some numpty to which I replied do you want want a slap - to be met by four outside and one monthly **** threatening to stab me for disrespect . It isn’t just football , it’s booze and coke and it’s only to get worse

What was nice was when Nige was being interviewed after the game, fans shouting “we are with you Nige” and his response….”that’s nice that”
Give him the time and he will make us better and get us much closer/into the top 6
People have got to accept it’s going to take time , next season is likely to be tough and hopefully get through that onwards and upwards

What about Cundy?
He usually says we should be giving him a chance, my hunch is after Saturday he’s probably not going so big on that now.
Harper was also being touted , along with Towler and when he was played and exposed it was bad management as he wasn’t ready!!

If Ian says one more time about bringing in a young manager, who dies he think will fit the bill? Please stop saying Lowe and Cooper, they are both employed and unrealistic now.
Someone please point out that we went down that route with LJ and DH, they worked out well..or not
Agreed , IF Pearson is sacked or end of contract is done ‘mutually’ we simply don’t appear to have the funds to pay compensation for an employed manager. Plus whatever we have to pay Pearson and coaching staff will reduce our playing budget. How has this been allowed to happen , questions need to be asked to the decision makers of the club

It’s clear we aren’t getting out of this mess without serious investment into the playing staff. However, due to FFP we are financially hamstrung and NP has already come out in the press and squashed any expectation I had for next year by saying it’s unlikely we will be spending big in the summer (at least not unless we sell big).
Assuming (for whatever reason) the big money bids don’t come in for the likes of Massengo, Semenyo or others, just how on Earth are we going to raise some much needed cash?
Do the panel have any legitimate suggestions for alternative ways the club can generate some much needed income so we can go after the quality players needed to turn this around?
Concern for me is whilst we may receive bids for those players , we won’t receive the bids of our valuation. Clubs will know our financial position and therefore would expect bids to reflect this.

Mark ,
I think what needs to be discussed is how have we ended in this position, ultimately we’ve gone from a side that had an outside chance of top six to a relegation fighting side. I think it’s easy to point the finger at Pearson but in my opinion our problems are bigger and have been going on longer than Pearson has been at the club

Saturday

Watford v Leeds

quite possible Everton could be in bottom three on Sunday and level on points with Watford (but with better GD)
