    Yes I can.

Being 3 points above the relegation zone, having played a game more than every team below us - is unacceptable.

Being below Coventry, who have 3 games in hand, is unacceptable.

Winning only 2 of our last 11 games is unacceptable.

A points per game ratio, over 20 months, of 1.1ppg is unacceptable.

    So what is the solution?

Are we in relegation scrap, you are correct we will be worse off next season when we sell our assets but you can lay that at super Lee and Ashton spending beyond their means

It’s nothing to do with Ashton or Johnson us spending beyond our means , there is one man at the club who signs off expenditure and agrees the budget. That person is still at the football club

The verdict - City deserving of more from entertaining game

    https://foreverbristolcity.podbean.com/e/swansea-h-the-verdict-city-deserving-of-more-from-entertaining-game/

Ian, Mark & DaveFevs join DaveP in reviewing a decent display against a team in form who, quite honestly, flattered to deceive despite having 72% possession.

Injury & illness meant City started with a back three of Tanner, Vyner & Pring. Whilst it might have been different against more physical opposition as a trio they did very well with Pring voted as MOM.

When Tommy Conway put City in front with a well worked goal it was just reward for a sparkling opening, indeed, if early chances been converted the game would have been won before the half hour mark.

Perhaps it wasn't the worldy described by DaveP but the power drive that took a deflection for an equaliser was no more than Swansea deserved as City were somewhat lack lustre for the last 20 minutes.

In this episode we talk briefly about club finances, ponder whether we'd like to watch a possession based style as displayed by Russell Martin's side and assess our chances in the final three league games before the World Cup break starting against Sheffield United on Tuesday.

Thought it was a good pod this week, not sure who the guy was who came in halfway through , is he new? Thought he was a good addition to the Pod

Police were in the park the whole time.
Before the Swansea fans had even come out there were about 50 police officers stationed in the park, standing in 2’s about 20 yards apart. They basically had the whole park covered.
The first group of Swansea fans that came into the park, about 30 of them, got charged at by the group of 200 or so City youngsters. This took up the majority of the police resource which was already deployed in the park.
As more Swansea fans arrived in the park, it did appear for about a minute that there were a large number of them with no police presence near them, but pretty soon a number of the officers who’d been moved to the top end of the park for the initial disturbance had made their way back down to the middle of the park again and were fully in control of the rest of the Swansea fans in your picture.
There was probably about 1 minute of time where the bulk of the Swans, if they’d have wanted, could have done anything they wanted. But there was no one for them to fight, as the City young uns were all up the top end surrounded by police.
In the end, nothing actually happened aside from a bit of running about and a fair amount of shouting at each other through the police lines.
But yes, there was a small period of time, as per your pic, where there were a lot of Swans entering the park and pretty much no police there, as they were all already dealing with the large group at the top end.

What brave boys they are, about 200 of them attacking 30 - so , so brave and certainly something to be proud of

    Why?

Not our job to appoint a successor, that will always fall to the lansdown who will no doubt **** up again.

I think if you have a view of replacing someone then it isn’t unreasonable to say ‘x’ as a replacement. If you believe there should be a change , then you must have a solution ? But agree the Lansdowns picking a new manager is a dread!!

Whether we like Pearson or not, he's here to stay unless we're adrift in the relegation zone - which is highly unlikely. I liken this period to Dicks' time in charge. Bugger all money to spend, but the eventual creation of a sound recruitment policy and a flourishing youth set up reaped promotion to Division One.

We'll just have to be patient.

I agree with your comments above and the Dicks period was before my time. On the podcast somebody said Pearson should have been sacked last season and should be sacked now. Another on the panel challenged the person who made the comment but was not given a reply

One thing I would agree with , is the comfy culture at the club. Been in place too long but that comes from the top

Because that opens it up to scrutiny.

Whether you are pro or anti Pearson, someone suggesting Dyche or Wilder just reveals you are completely delusional.

Suggesting the likely candidates like the ex FRG chap sacked by Watford or Jason Euell shows that you understand the difficult circumstances we currently operate in.

Correct , if you make a statement bloke I would sack Pearson you need a solution , whilst we may not have a final say in the decision we all have an opinion. IF Pearson goes for me we’re looking at a candidate like Ainsworth, based on what he did with Wycombe on a small budget which we’re working with. Can you imagine the reaction if he or someone similar came in as our manager.

Ian, Mark & Dave P review the action from Reading. Naturally disappointed after the good win at WBA and feeling very downbeat without being knee jerk in our reaction.

We're worried about the falling value of our stars and had no inside knowledge when recording at 6 PM that Gould was going to be on his way!!!

Please , please , please why comments are made about no trust in Pearson, no trust in his coaching staff etc is there not a suggestion put forward. If an opinion is the manager needs to go then whoever has that view must have an idea of who to bring in.

Disagree. It’s only Stevie Gee  (Gee for Guernsey) that has to have an option to replace, cos he's the bloke that will replace Nige, when Nige gets off his arse and walks

I agree that whenever a manager is appointed at Bristol City it will be Steve who has the final say. My point is that if fans suggest the manager should be sacked then an alternative should be suggested , because ultimately if you don’t think better can be obtained why call for someone to be replaced ?

But like your two compatriots , you wouldn’t give Pearson the funds to evolve the squad if Scott or Antoine were sold

    You change like the seasons

I just wish that when the comment is made that Pearson must go , a REALISTIC alternative is provided. None ever is , if you want change you have to have an option to replace

True. I want Pearson to succeed, but I'm flabbergasted why he can inspire the team to play attractive attacking football against the likes of Blackburn and Norwich, then revert to a clueless mess against Reading, Birmingham and Millwall.

I’m sorry but the reason we have inconsistent players is because they play for Bristol City if we had players who played more consistently they wouldn’t be playing for us - as frustrating as that is, it’s a fact of life. Pearson or another manager isn’t going to change that. The championship is an unpredictable league because most teams are in the same position as us regards being good some weeks, average others and awful. It’s like the comment after Tuesdays game asking why we didn’t defend better at Birmingham to what we did against West Brom overlooking the fact on Tuesday we had a different keeper , a different CB in the middle of the three instead of King and the return of James, an experienced player !

Thought he was generally unfussy - my problem with refs like Keith Stroud is that it's too much of a performance from them sometimes.

Madley, although not afraid of a card, doesn't give away too many fouls per game in comparison to others.

Felt he got the majority of calls right last night: off top of head though, trying to be balanced, Klose lucky not to get a yellow after a couple of fouls and i'd like to see the handballs again.

Atkinson, we've seen that given in the prem (probably VAR though) and Williams probably should have been a freekick outside area IMO.

Thought he had a good game too, Atkinson certainly looked like a handball and there were a couple of quick shouts from them in succession I thought he was likely to buckle and give one

Keep reading no money blah blah blah.

Fair enough. Doesn't help but then there are plenty of sides in the same boat and less attractive yet doing better. Add to the fact we have a pig headed Manager who doesn't use the loan option.

You’ve acknowledged we have no money , so how do we bring in loan players ? Still likely to have to pay a loan fee , a percentage of wages
