As I said on page one, for obvious reasons I’d love that. However, I think what would be better if there was a room/area at the club dedicated to the juniors it was named after him, and also recognised the other people involved in some way.

Mum (Claire) had to be cajoled a bit into doing the podcast but I think it did her a lot of good. All the messages and tweets are fantastic for her - if I could teach her to use the internet it’d be handy as I’d save boatloads in paper…

Personally think it’s important to recognise those who’ve played a part in our club, and no doubt the junior reds had an impact on many reading this forum today and becoming supporters of BCFC.

    Shameless bump.

    Good show guys, thanks

Really good podcast - can we get the club to call it the John Banks Junior Reds - it would be a fitting tribute to a man who made the junior reds

Memories & Music - We invite a fan on to talk about a game in history and then we talk about the Top 10 from that week also… this is the 5th episode of this format… enjoy!

Remember this game , like @Big Csaid I also had a family meal that Sunday and remember going home with my mum telling me I was banned from going to see city play after what had happened!! There’s a book out which covers off the trouble in quite a bit of detail.

Good listen these podcasts with the memories and also the recollection of the music! Maybe the 3-1 win at Cardiff could be one to discuss ?

Having (somewhat) of a vested interest here, what I’d say is this:

    - Delighted to see it back, but it is just a mirror of the adult membership and at the same price. I don’t think the free tickets offset it necessarily

    - I’d have personally pitched it at a lower price. For a non STH family, say two kids, it’s £75 membership. A tenner for junior members feels more in the right place for me

    - There are easy things that I’d like to see added to the junior membership that won’t increase cost to the club massively - like…

    - Birthday card signed by favourite player. Easy to do and manage, means a lot to kids

    - All under 12s entered into a mascot draw, and one place per home game goes to a JR. Hell, you could throw in the kit for free if they win the draw

    - I’m sure this will happen but could be more explicit - Juniors Christmas and EOS parties, attended by players

    - Free or reduced coach travel on away games, with option (where available) for dedicated family coach

There are really easy things to do. This is a great start, but could be better.

Agree with your comments, as someone who doesn’t live in Bristol there isn’t much to entice me to get membership for my two sons. It’s good to see the return of junior reds

    That's them.

Glad we arrived towards the end of their "performance".

Saw him on Tuesday night and he was fantastic , hopefully one day we’ll see them reunite Oasis.  Hopefully Fridays and Sundays are as good

    Link to listen live: https://www.podbean.com/lsw/voj3TKjf6G?lsid=xYr6gC7gupo

Join DaveP, Ian, Mark & Neil from 8.30 AM in the build up to the release of the 22/23 Season fixtures at 9.00 AM.

When are the "big" matchdays, are some periods less testing than others, what is an acceptable points total by Matchday 16 when the season stops for the World Cup break?

We'll also discuss the summer transfer activity so far.

    Really like this idea

Work all summer with a 4231 built on:

    Webster, Kalas

    Pack, Brownhill

Weimann, Szmodics or Paterson , Eliasson or Paterson

    Diedhiou

Then toss it all up in the air in the week leading up to the season, and then after one game after a defeat v Leeds (and that’s wider than just Palmer). Lordy, Lordy, Lordy.

I was comfy to sign Palmer, just the way we did it was wrong.

Exactly and I don’t like to quote your pal on FBC podcast but he’s right when he says the manager should go to the board with a list of players and explain how they’d fit into a system. As you show there was no plan for Palmer to fit into out system  yet the purchase was sanctioned. It was an expensive acquisition with no real thought into it and ultimately we’re paying the penalty as a club now.

I was very surprised that we signed him after a very average loan spell so no hindsight here pal

Alongside the utterly cringe lyrics, it was one of the things that irked me most about the Kasey Palmer song. Folks were belting it out when he hadn't done enough really to deserve having his own song.  Plenty of other players should've been ahead of him in the adulation stakes.

I don’t disagree, personal thoughts on Palmer was it was a signing that just didn’t make sense - we already had Paterson and had earlier signed Szmodics who had started pre season relatively well. Palmer signs, then Paterson goes on loan , to come back into the team. If ever there was a signing that displayed the scatter gun approach to transfers under Johnson & Ashton era this was it.
My recollection of fan demand for the signing was it felt a large proportion but maybe the loudest!

I might be reading too much into this, but was browsing the site for the new kits today and noticed the categorisation is “Mens-Womens-Junior Reds”.

IIRC, we’ve always categorised as “Youth” previously.

Is the club about to get their butts in gear and relaunch the junior supporters clubs and this is getting the branding lined up…?

Listen to most recent @3 Peaps In A PodCast as comment about how Richard is looking at getting more fans in the ground and reaching out to different communities- certainly promising to possible relaunch of junior reds in some capacity ?

Just been in the shop (after having a shocking experience on the website, or so I thought as I seemingly couldn’t find anything…) and there is literally nothing for my lad who is 18 months, who I was hoping to buy a few bits for holiday

holiday aside, other then a £40 kit (which now doesn’t include socks and I swear it used to?) there was not a thing in there for any occasion, really was shocking

    needs sorting

There still is no baby wear - not sure if junior reds range will over. It really is a missed opportunity for the club from a revenue side

Over the course of last season there was a lot of negativity aimed at NP,  football always has been a results industry, but even NP critics must have listened to that and gone away thinking we are in good hands.

I think when you hear reactive comments like he should resign or be sacked they’re emotive responses. As you say you’ve only got to listen to what he says to understand the clubs current position, the positive for me is Pearson clearly does and yet he wants to stay , that suggests he also sees positives and believes he can improve us. He’s had plenty of opportunities to walk away should he have wanted to (with his health etc). I’ve not seen anyone come up with an alternative

A mixed bag, totally….I just don’t buy the “it’s been all negative” from those posters.

I think there has to be a realism about where we are as a club right now and we simply can’t spend the money as we’ve done before. People talk about budgets as use clubs like Coventry, Huddersfield  and Luton as clubs without a budget. Whilst that’s true , Luton and Coventry have had consistency with management of the club and Huddersfield stuck with their manager last season when they had an awful year. Yet people want the constant change of management with either no suggestion of a replacement and no concept of the constant change of manager brings. As Pearson has said problems at the club and will be there whether he stays or goes - he accepts the problems and appears prepared to stay, surely that had to a positive

On the flip side, we never went on a losing run longer than 3 games (3 times)…we’ve strung 5 games unbeaten twice…..we’ve not been boom nor bust.  We’ve conceded too many, but we’ve scored a lot too.  We’ve not had too many scoreless games.

We seem to have lost the Johnson era of long losing runs and that is a positive. As I say I’m firmly in the Pearson in camp those are the two improvements I feel we can make and if we do you’d expect a more successful team. There is a lot of positives as detailed in the podcast of this thread but doesn’t mean we can’t be critical but constructive with it

    What questions?…………:dunno:

This was his first season of the rebuild and he’s had much to correct on and off the pitch. He’s done a decent job imo.

I will firstly say I’m firmly in the Pearson in camp but I do think there are two questions / issues for me:

The number of goals we’ve conceded this season has to reduce

We’ve only run two consecutive games this season, against  an already relegated derby and a hull side with nothing to play for
