    PATHOLOGICAL LIARS !

Its what these type of people do. Attempt to flip things around the other way. I'm not a doctor but the reasoning behind it must be some sort of disorder that runs through the veins of every single Rovers fan, maybe its called the Chernobyl Effect?

We've stumbled from the Conference to League 1 in two years. The old leadership who led us to the Conference have gone.  Based on last season, we are 7th in home attendance, competing against the likes of Millwall, Coventry and Sheffield United. Away attendances are incredible considering what we've gone through in recent years.

It doesn't match where you are now, but to call it a shambles is frankly nonsense.

But you knew that when you wrote it.

Hmm, didn't that same old leadership also lead you back into the league and we're custodians for the majority of last season?

Wally had very little to do with your.success last season.

Yes they led you to the Conference but they also mainly over saw your rise to League one. You shouldn't forget that

So as I see it, you're all in agreement:

Rovers are clueless, tinpot, the owner is an unprofessional buffoon stringing the fans along and hasn't got 2 brass farthings to rub together, there's never going to be a new stadium or training complex, the fans are all muppets, forever in your shadow, no longer rivals, you don't even care about them any more...

I think we get the point. It's preaching to the converted isn't it? I mean, you all think it, and you all know it to be true.  Yet you all still have to keep saying it over and over and reaffirming it to yourselves every day.

Why? Things are going well for City right now, Europa League on the near horizon according to your manager, if we're no longer rivals why not just take a chill pill and not get yourselves into such a lather every day? Why the obsession? Really, why? We are nothing to you.  Move on.

    Have a good weekend all!

And I'll see any Rovers fans that use the forum (both long standing and newbies? at the Mem tomorrow?

Take care everyone, enjoy the weekend :-)

Cards on the table time I think.

Your club, and it's fans have had a very weird obsession with us from the very early days. If this was a domestic situation 99% of your fans would have restraining orders against them. That is how bad it is.

Every time you score a goal or some other insignificant event we are bombarded with messages of how your coming for us. But in times of hardship, we don't hear from you. Isn't that right Danny Boy?

We find this weird obsession rather funny and we know us laughing at you for losing to the likes of Bath City is intolerable for your fans.

I'll cut you a deal here. You and all of your other fans STFU about us (this includes your board and official social media accounts) and then we won't continue to laugh at you! Deal? Doubt it because your obsession with us is deeply rooted in your clubs Dna and without that obsession what else do you have left? A dodgy owner who has admitted he's only in it for the value(sounds like asset stripping) a rugby stadium you stole, only able to.sign players on free or on loan and a poxy car boot sale on a Sunday.

Somehow I think this obsession with us kind of makes you forget for a.briefing moment just how tin pot the club you support is.

  5. Oh the last two pages has been great bedtime reading. Even the penny in starting to drop for our regular sags on here.

Many many times on here I have spoken about how all they wish for us to be one place above us, even if its only for a flirting moment. That is as far as their ambition reaches. They would dine out on that for many years to come just like they did with the counless Lambert comments.

I don't take any enjoyment out of my assessment of their ambitions being confirmed correct by their owners. I just find it incredibly sad.

Over team our club has built some strong foundations which we continue to build upon. Its early days but the signs look promising. The way we are doing things is the absolute correct way of doing things.

They need to do the same. But they won't. They won't, because that takes time. They are driven by an obsession to be somewhere near us. Due to their deep obsession they will never allow themselves any time to build a stable club as it means we continue to be ahead of them and for them that thought is Intolerable.

When we lose a game I'm annoyed because I hate us losing, when we win I'm delighted because I love Bristol City. For them, its a different matter. They hate to lose because they hate giving us more laughing opportunities, when they win they are happy because they can plaster all over social media how they are coming for us following a last minute plucker winner against the likes of the mighty Burys of this world.

On the rare occasion we lose and they win I try to avoid all social platforms. Simply because what I see is cringeworthy

I feel blessed in life, the great lord gave myself and all of you a very specialgift. The lord knew life is full of ups and downs. He knee there would be days where your pet hamster dies, or you leave home without a coat and it chucks it down, or you put petrol in your diesel car. He knew he had to do something to balance this out, so he created Bristol Rovers football club, so on those days one could come onto this thread and instantly find new ways to laugh hysterically at them. Just like I am now.

However bad life gets, just remember, you are blessed by virtue of not being one of them.

I guess some of us are able to take a broader view on whether its right or not to charge fans again for a match that was declared null and void after 59 minutes the first time around, regardless of the teams involved.  I happen to like my colleague at work who attended the first game and I don't believe he has ever punched a horse or indulged in any of the activities you describe, in the same way that not all of us have vandalised the memorial gates.  So yes I do have sympathy for him.

My broader view is this could happen to any away team in the country, its just flipping hilarious that on this occasion it so happens to be them.

Yes OK they do have one or two OK fans, but the majority of them are grade a tossers. Have you ever had sight of their forum? Very stark differences between our fans and their fans.

Not only have their fans been involved in many unsavoury embarrassing incidents the club they also support is just as bad as them, trying to get Wycombe kicked out the league, trying to steal our ground, stealing the rugby ground, Darrell's 'happy days' comments, watering their pitch so they could postpone the game before playing us, showing our scores on the scoreboard etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc.

So add it all together and almost everyone associated with that club deserve zero sympathy.

Full corner full I heard, took our jackets off and everything, proper mugging them off

I heard we all brought houses in Mansfield so we could use a Mansfield address to buy tickets, we then all went out and brought Mansfield shirts and scarfs. Just so we could be in the away end that day.

Ah the footballing Gods have blessed us for so long hey?

And that's a huge generalisation re: the supporters - that's like me suggesting all City fans are Harvester Family pub destroying, wife-beating, war memorial desecrating thugs.  That's certainly true of a minority of your supporters but I wouldn't tar you all with the same brush... ;-)

I remember the vile disgusting scenes following your rightful relegation to non league, that was hardly a minority was it?

Back on the Swindon tickets, only giving Rovers the expensive tickets and not opening the cheaper bank behind the goal. This is why Swindon are the club I dislike the most. I want to beat Rovers more than anyone else but when it comes to horrible little clubs in horrible little Towns, Swindon take the biscuit.

I think its very thoughtful of them. They got soaked last time so are ensuring they don't have to get wet again.

Being serious tho, why the hell is there a huge amount of sympathy for them recently?

Personally I'm delighted Swindon are charging them watch the game again, I'm even more delighted they have to pay even more to watch the said game.

Their fans are some of the worst in football, attacking families in pubs, boob cricket, horse punching etc etc so its about bloody time the football gods have conspired against them.

I think some have a huge dislike for Swindon and that is clouding over their dislike for the sags.

Give me Swindon over the sags any day of the week.

I would plan a mass boycott of the Swindle game if I was a gas supporter. The decision by that Swindling bar steward Power is disgusting and is all about making money out of the away fans!

approx £50k by my reckoning, swindle don't have big crowds and not many would potd if the gas boycotted so it would hit power and swindle hard financially.

Personnally I can't stand the man

My understanding is season ticket holders have been given free entry for the rearranged game? If that's true then I can't see the problem. Clarke has purposely put out that misleading statement.

There are terms and conditions about abandoned games. By buying a ticket a supporter accepts them terms and conditions. Usually it's free ticket / Refund if abandoned before half time. Half price entry before the 60th minute and no refund / discount  after the 60th minute.

With that in mind I think it's quite honourable that the club are looking after those who have season tickets

I remember we once had a game abondoned at home against Notts County, think we were losing 2 nil before the abandonment after half time and I certainly remember having to at least part pay for a ticket for the.rearranged game.

  11. So on the day we sell a player for potentially 15 Million they lose to Reading Youth Team.

At least now they have the very proud honour of being the only Bristol team to lose in a Carling Cup preliminary Round, relegated out of the league AND lose to a youth team In a competitive fixture.

The first three questions are very good and need answers.

The last is disrespectful. Call him Dopey if you want to be a forum favourite, but we all know he's done a great job at Rovers in the last two years.  Leeds wanted him.  He was sensible enough not to want them.  His tactical changes at Chelski almost rescued the game against the big boys to the point where they had to bring on Hazard and Terry to keep it safe.  And even then they were worried.

DC is a great young manager with a great future, perhaps not with Rovers.  This "Dopey" crap is just that. We might be ragbag Rovers, but we do not have a ragbag manager.  He's the best thing to have happened to us for 20 years.

Ah. The exact same as this was said about Trollope until you all turned on him.

Oh and that wasn't 20 years ago. Very unlike you lot to exaggerate things.

Whilst I'm here I'd just like to say all this attendance stuff is boring now. You will nnever be able to compete with us on that front so let's let the football do the talking. You were beat by scunny in what was a huge game for you, we totally outplayed them and beat them.

    With our reserves.

    Mind the gap.

I think he's got a point.. Kind of.. Overall I like the redevelopment and it was needed. AG doesn't have the same feel though, imo the atmosphere is worse and the south stand is a poor replacement for the EE. Hoping it'll all come together eventually but there are aspects of the old AG that I miss.

Right now I feel Ashton Gate isn't really home because as you say it feels different. That will change in time as we all become familiar with it. I'm still checking I'm entering the right bogs until it becomes a habit which it will do.

I'd respectfully go against you with regards to atmosphere. The jury is still out as we've not even had one game with a fully open stadium. The old EE was great(to those in there) outside of it you could hardly hear a thing as it trapped the sound in. Ashton Gate always has supporters inside ready to create a noise when the action excites.

Against Wigan the atmosphere was really good. For what must be the first time ever all the stands now sing together at the same time. From my seat in the SS I can clearly hear all of the other stands sing and then it catches on into the other stands.

I honestly think with the amphitheatre style of Ashton Gate now we are soon to have some memorable atmospheres.

Definitely not slowly sobbing away. . As I say .. most of us are happy we're still allowed to stand at matches and the pisser is shite .. love it ...

You know what,  times change. I loved standing on the East End for many years,  but now I love our new stadium far far more. Ok there may not be the packed in like sardines feel but all the new facilities on other make up for that and some. Would I swap it all if given the choice? Would I ****!! Your only saying you love it because that's all you have got and all you will ever likely have.
