I think your somewhat missing the point here.

Do you think Floyd would ever step into a cage? Of course he bloody wouldn't as he knows he would get done within 5 minutes.

The fact Connor stepped into a boxing ring and for a part held his own draws a massive amount of respect for me.

Did you see him with his small child after? Didn't it warm your heart knowing that that child will never have to worry money in its life? Because their father stepped out of their comfort zone to provide for his family, something Floyd wouldn't do.

It was so one sided mate as we all thought it would be but you never knew, now we do and a rematch would never sell

So one sided that Connor almost knocked him out?  Come on at least be gracious in victory and come to the table with the facts.

This coming from someone who said I'd be full of I told you sos. Pot,kettle, black.

However the fight went I enjoyed it. I respect both fighters for their participation. despite my dislike for Maywesther I still respect him. I dislike him simply because he is so god damn good and professional and gets the job done. I'll always cheer on the under dog.

Such a shame you can't give Connor any credit or respect but then I guess that's what sets me and you apart.

Nah, they wouldn't be able to sell it. Nobody would be interested in watching that again, nowhere near close enough to warrant a rematch.

I'm not so sure, it's left me with a feeling of what if.

Hmm I think Floyd went easier on him for a few rounds to make the match more of a spectacle. Mayweather threw about 12 punches in the first 2 rounds.

Even at that intensity - it's a bit embarrassing Conor gassed out so early. I thought he'd been working on his cardio.

I doubt there'll be a rematch, when the dust settles people will realise Mayweather was in control ultimately. 50-0 is a nice round number for Mayweather to retire on.

I think there's a far better chance of Conor fighting Paulie; that's a marketable fight.

I'm not disagreeing. I think Connor is a all or nothing type of person so went all in in those early rounds whilst Floyd sat back. I 100% believe had Connor had the experience of going 12 matches it's a much closer fight.

I ain't going to pretend to know the current situation with boxing but I and Connor knows that is where the money is so we will see him in the ring again IMHO.

I'm not sure about him going into boxing purely because who does he fight,he's just been stopped by mayweather who hasn't stopped anyone for years,if he fights a active fighter then it would end in tears. Back to mma what he's good at and his stock is still high

Surely you can agree that McGregor put on a good show a giant o e of the greatest ever boxers? He has potential and I'd certainly be interested in seeing him box in the future. Money talks.

That's what I meant by levels in boxing. Mayweather's experience and skill showed.

McGregor made a good go of it for the first few rounds but he'd never be able to maintain that. Nice counter uppercut on Floyd early on but after Mayweather worked out McGregor's style he just let him tire himself out.

He always would have had to count on a KO in the first 3 to 4 rounds which I still believe he was/is capable of.

I think we will see a rematch in the future. Neither of them will turn that kind of money down.

Conor done alright for first 3 but the gulf which we knew was there to see after, don't mind Conor but let him get back to the street fighting thing he does instead of the sweet science

I'd like to see him explore boxing. He's done all he can in MMA and I think boxing will give him the challenge he craves. The only thing that ****** him up was tiredness. The more he boxes the more he will improve.

Incredible story for a guy who was once on benefits to securing his and his children's future.

However much I dislike Mayweather I give him my upmost respect for the professionalism he has shown throughout his career to get the job done.

You are one of those after pretty boy teaches him a lesson you will say ah well he's not really a boxer but if he does do a miracle it will be I told you so

No I will be like miracles do happen. Whoever wins will deserve it.

They don't,just like Pissed up ***** down town don't,doesn't make them a boxer

You are very clearly missing the point I am making. People like you are focusing on the fact he is a MMA fighter and are assuming cos he isn't a 'boxer' he can't box.

bare knuckle fighting is nothing like boxing mate, don't think you understand boxing tbh, mcgregor has a punchers chance and that's it

Ah sorry. Didn't realise they use their feet to punch in bare knuckle fighting instead of their fists.

You are guessing he's good at boxing because he's Irish ,floyd isn't dirty either,I will give you he's a old man who hasn't boxed for ages and that's why they are fighting,if mcgregor was in against the best p4p around he would be wiped out first round

I explained that badly. Admittedly I've not followed McGregor career but the Irish are known for their bare knuckle fighting so I'd say it's an educated guess that McGregor can box.

Think people are getting too caught up on the fact he is a MMA fighter. TThis isn't a cricketer being asked to play centre forward in football. This is a fighter being asked to fight, just with different rules.

McGregor hasn't just walked off of the street into this. He is an experienced talented athlete.

Floyd not dirty????? I've heard it all now. He knows every trick in the book, how to bend the rules how to play the refs etc.

  12. 100% you put Floyd into MMA and McGregor would destroy him.

Many people are expecting a easy win for Mayweather but I'm really struggling to agree. OK McGregor hasn't boxed professionally and certainly doesn't have the experience of Mayweather but boxing isn't exactly alien to McGregor is it? Tbh I've not followed much of his career (I've seen more of Mayweather than him) but I'm guessing being Irish he can box.

One of Floyds tactics has always been to play dirty and get hold his opponent  (something that has always annoyed me) this ain't going to work against McGregor as he is used to the close combat from his MMA days.

Add in the fact Floyd hasn't fought for 2 years and I really do think McGregor is going to upset the odds.

Imo the reason he is not being given much of a chance by many is because people don't want a 'outsider' winning and showing up their beloved sport so they simply just try to dismiss his chances .

  13. I am a very passive casual boxing viewer, by that I mean I only ever watch the big fights.

Nothing has really caught my attention since the Hatton and Haye days. But this has proper caught my attention and I am super excited for it. I didn't even know who McGregor was a few months ago.

The point I'm trying to make is OK I can see why boxing fans are pisses off with this but I'm the perfect example of why this fight is happening.

If boxing was more like it used to be then simply this fight wouldn't be happening but the fact is there is no stand out big names that catches the casual viewers attention.

What I have noticed is the purists have completely dismissed McGregor chances. I struggle to take their views seriously because they are so biased it's unbelievable. The thought of a 0-0 MMA fighter winning this is unthinkable for them. But this is exactly why causual viewers like me are interested.

Have people forgot Mayweather once took part in WWE? OK that's fixed but Mayweather isn't as pure as the purists like to think.

In life if you underestimate someone then do so at your peril.
