  1. Ok from one who was there...here's my perspective.

Tomlin buries the Penalty then it was game over.

O'Neil resists the cynical tackle then we would have had the extra man advantage.

These things obviously didn't happen...I'm currently sat with several Wednesday fans and their summaries go from "That were a crazy five minutes" "How did we win that" "I can't believe how lucky we were your man missed the pen" "Your boys battered us 1st half and turned off in the 2nd" "Play like that and you're gonna have a good season" "we robbed you"

Now for what it's worth I think we folded when then pressure was applied...Bannan yet again bosses the midfield and we just watched as he pinged balls around and made ours look silly.

The meltdown I've read through on here wasn't quite what I witnessed at Hillsborough.

Conceded again isn't great and yes I'm pissed off we lost in the manner we did but I think it was a fair result.

where was he begging for investors? I imagine as an investment banker he has contacts/knowledge of people who would want in on this sort of scheme

As for what they will get out of it, that does remain to be seen and depends on who they are

You're correct he does have contacts the issue is all have been exhausted and nobody wants "in"

Somewhere in this increasingly lengthy thread there was a few links to pieces in the EP saying that he was seeking investment both at home and in London.

Correct, several high profile investment banks.

I guess you were in on all the conversations then?

Not personally but business associates of mine were.

I tend to believe those who have no axe to grind.

I'll also make it really simple for everyone to understand, the stadium ain't happening.

The sooner you directly challenge the Emperors New Clothes the better.

Do the Gas have any presence at UWE at the moment? The reason I ask is that I had to drive along the A4174 there one day last week and saw a Rovers car (number plate ended in GAS and the strage little pirate thing on it), as I passed there was a chap in a suit on a handsfree phone.  I was wondering if he was off to a meeting with the bigwigs there or if they have a training presence there?

He was off to read the meter at UWE

The first three questions are very good and need answers.

The last is disrespectful. Call him Dopey if you want to be a forum favourite, but we all know he's done a great job at Rovers in the last two years.  Leeds wanted him.  He was sensible enough not to want them.  His tactical changes at Chelski almost rescued the game against the big boys to the point where they had to bring on Hazard and Terry to keep it safe.  And even then they were worried.

DC is a great young manager with a great future, perhaps not with Rovers.  This "Dopey" crap is just that. We might be ragbag Rovers, but we do not have a ragbag manager.  He's the best thing to have happened to us for 20 years.

You're correct, you both deserve each other...

    To be more precise:

Beaten by Scunthorpe, who were on the verge of the playoffs last season.

Beaten by Bolton, who were two divisions above us in May.

Beat Oxford, who finished above us and were tipped to do well in L1.

Beat Cardiff.  Your rivals, who do better than you.

    Not brilliant, but not bad.

And as for calling 9,000 in League 1 "pathetic", the vast majority of clubs in that league would bite your hand off for an attendance like that.

I'm not trying to big us up, but just hoping that some more reasonable posters on here might see that what we have achieved in the past two years is actually pretty impressive.  We're not going to storm League 1 as you did, but to be where we are now compared to May 2014 is something to be a little "prowed" of.

    A bit like Chlamydia then?

  6. So I've thought about the game tonight a bit before my two pence worth....

Coming away and feeling down is actually pretty positive considering we played a team who I would have fully expected to be challenging for the title come May.

For me it's a case of when not if we 'click' as a team, I just have this feeling that when we do we may be pleasantly surprised this year.

So a defeat is not great but to come here, feel disappointed about not getting a win - I'm actually quite comfortable with.
