I suppose its a fair guess they do.

I wish it were a guess mate.

Approx 20k a week built up with bonus and severance package. So factoring in tax £30-40k a month is what they are prepared to pay

It was so laughable I had to ask three times the person who would definitely know these things.

Leeds are throwing money at contracts.

I suppose it's like the Newcastle job in that they all go there knowing if they get it right they will be legends and highly paid ones at that . But the truth is for one reason or another they all fail. Leeds is still a huge job in this division if the money's right he will take it and he will fail.

Just over a million a year

  3. Just broke out for lunch here in Arkansas where it's a lovely 24 degrees sunny, cloudless sky kind of a day, we've got a tasty warm buffet laid on with some very sumptuous looking strawberries I'm eyeing up for dessert.

What could make such a wonderful lunchtime even better? I know my phone going wild with the news of "The Dogfather" himself speaking to Leeds Utd.

Now I can say a little over a Million £ a year is on the table and he's not going to get much assurances from his new owner Wael as his contract negotiations there haven't even been discussed but what do you expect from a club who wouldn't buy new goal nets when DC asked for them so bought them himself.

The "Owner" (and I say that loosely) has no money, he hasn't put anything in to the club other than buying out Piggy and Co.

Oh actually he did buy them new catering facilities A NEW BURGERVAN to help increase match day hospitality revenue, so add that to the Asphalt for the UWE car park it's a win win situation.

If it's all definitely on then DC will be gone, there's no love lost between him and the new regime.

As for the Stadium? When your going cap in hand around City financiers like a desperate scene from 'The Producers' (as one friend told me the meeting went) to get capital then you know it's going to end badly especially when your OWN FAMILY BANK can't raise the money itself.

"Thousand foot barge pole" described another friends reaction to them too.

Still they remain delusional and the messiah will deliver.

As he's out of contract I suppose it would make sense for them to pay him 450k pa rather than spend that on another striker.

But they are heading for trouble if they're thinking of 3rd party ownership.

If the player has any sense, he'll be off to something bigger and better I would have thought.

    I heard Reading mentioned.

Wasn't it 3rd party ownership that resulted in the whole Tevez/West Ham/Sheffield United thing?

Got to be honest, I'm not entirely sure how it works, other than it isn't allowed.

That and a few other nuggets I gleaned last night.

Waiting for the hangover to die down and I'll pass a few more on...

I thought your club had just made a massive statement of intent by offering a squad full of conference players new contracts?

Granted, that doesn't mean Wally won't make funds available, but with wage caps based on turnover in place will he be able to get quality in if the wage bill has been blown on some bloke who 3 years ago had to get up to deliver post.

£9k a week offered to Taylor, on very good authority.

    Something about 3rd party ownership.

  7. Funny who you bump into on a social occasion and what you make small talk about isn't it?

I mean there's a saying that comes to mind in situations like this.."Loose Lips Sink (Pirate) Ships".

Oh! my, I am going to belly laugh so intensely when their particular Pirate Ship has to traverse the choppy waters ahead and inevitably run aground.

You think the relegation to Non League was hilarious? Wait for it cos it's going to get a whole lot funnier....

I'm off back to the party to see what other prize gems are going to fall my way, nothing quite like alcohol to loosen people up.

Hahaha.  That's jager speak, well jager, some cocktails and ale speak. God, messy.

Enjoy the pre season guys, all rover's players players r getting contracts and we shall see what cash Wael is willing to spend.  I expect there be more changes at your end and u can see wot lansdown is more obliging than last year.

As for Taylor v Roofe.    Anyone who thinks roofe is a better player is either from Oxford or a city fan with issues (all of you).  Roofe is a luxury player with technique to burn, stick him in a struggling side and see what happens.  Taylor is more and more like m Stewart, and will run through a wall.  Cheers

    Getting contracts are they?

Make a change from being paid in pick 'n' mix won't it.....

Well done getting promotion from the Blow Football league.."Bobcat"

The Leicester squad are being treated to a trip to Vegas as they did not have any bonuses written into their contracts with regard to winning the Premiership. I guess that paying for a holiday and some spending money is looked upon differently to hard cash going into their bank accounts.

Indeed allowed as a "work place incentive"

  10. As much as I absolutely detest them...(and I hasten to add this next statement is as painful to say as having battery acid poured over my testicles whilst having the skin between my toes subjected to paper cuts)

Back to back promotions, fair play.

League 1 is a much tougher challenge than the division you've just come out of so enjoy the moment as next season will be back down to earth with a bump.
