It became personal to me when he destroyed my love of watching us play, when he claimed his love for my club, after saying the same about Oldham and Barnsley, when he thought he was the high and mighty, and none of us watching were worthy of understanding the game.

The strange thing is that I quite liked him as a player, always playing it simple, keeping the ball, giving it to players who were far more talented than him.

But as a coach/manager he thinks he is some kind of inimitable expert, that must be looked up too. His after match interviews are farcical and pathetic, talking down to people who just watched 90 minutes of sheer shite, by trying to tell them they didn’t understand what they were watching.

No other Championship club would have gone anywhere near him ( someone give me one reason why they would of? ) when SL hired him. He had done nothing to warrant coming here, except being a mate of the owners son.

Yes, it’s personal, i and many others have been involved with football for 50 years plus, one thing I don’t need is someone who isn’t very good at his job, trying to tell me what I’m watching.

Spot on you could see through him .he ?

More good news. Looks a great player in the little time we have seen him and will only get better with more opportunities around first team.

Callum has improved but Im still not convinced he’s going to make it here tbh. Hope I’m wrong but he still don’t impact games enough

Agreed hes had enough chances prefer Benarous out wide .

    Are we still using one?

Like NP I was totally frustrated watching how easy it was to score against us from crosses/set pieces.

Is it the players fault...or are they being asked to defend/set up like that?

Yes...it's arguable that out GK could have done better for both...however, how do you expect to win a header when marking as they do?

How we set up to mark for the second goal was so inept.

Not one of our players gave themselves a chance to actually challenge and win the ball.

All in a line on the 18 yard box, 18 yards of space for the cross to come into, and the opposition able to run into that space, nothing stopping them. Only have to concentrate on heading the ball goalwards under no pressure.

We are lined up in-between them. Offering no blocks on runs, and having to defend with back to ball, facing goalwards, instead of away from goal. Giving yourself the hardest possible chance of defending the ball, winning it or clearing it.

No one looking to attack the actual ball...just running back between the opposition, no real attempt to block runs or win the header. I've used this word before regarding defending...it's ' symbolic'.

    It's basic stuff.

I really don't understand how professional footballers are making such basic mistakes.

Yes and two of the smallest guys getting continuously beaten in the air on crosses Dasilva and Massengo teams have sussed this out .

The manager believes in Conway and has played him when he's been fit. Ditto Bell. Sam Pearson's not good enough.

    So what's your point?

It's demonstrably obvious, noted by various posters with reasoned arguments more than once, that Britton isn't physically up to Championship standard. There's no doubting he has natural ability when it comes to putting the ball in the net but modern football requires supreme physical athleticism above all else which he hasn't got and is unlikely to develop no matter how "fit" he gets.

Semenyo is the exact opposite - superb physical attributes, poor technique. But his technique can be improved through hard work and good coaching - we've seen that already.

The areas Britton needs to work on cannot be so readily improved, if at all - it's down to DNA by and large - watch the video with Dave Rennie talking about the most important quality in modern top level football being explosive power. Semenyo has this in spades, Britton has the explosiveness of a tub of lard.

That's not to say he can't have a career - there will always be a need for players who can find the net as well as he can, just not at the level City are aspiring to.

This is all pretty obvious stuff so I  can only assume the reason you're getting your knickers in a twist is you're his dad or something.

We took a punt on a local lad with some ability. Like most punts it wasn't a winner. It hasn't cost us much so no harm done. Next.

Il come back to you if he progresses funny how you can slate him and kick him in the bollox hope he dont come back to bite our ass.

Pearson is on loan, same as Britton and so was Bell so it seems to me the only player that Nige really thinks is close is Conway. I would have thought there will be footballing reasons for that rather than because he likes Conway and hates the others.

States on Bristol live hes being released .

    I'll humour you.......

Do you think that watching the kid train every day might give Pearson a better opinion of his current ability than you?

How come he never smashed it on loan at Woking if he is as good as you say he is? Were they picking on him too?

You don't think Scott and Benarous are better than Britton?

What problem does Pearson have with the lad? I'm asking because you state it is so obvious but I'm a bit dimp and can't see it.......

If West Brom and Wolves are watching him what is he doing on loan at some League of Ireland mob?

Not comparing with the likes of Scott and Benarous  I'm talking Pearson Bell and conway .

But we can all do that on our day, it's doing it consistently that matters (although one can only do it twice a season v Brentford if in the same division as them).

He didn't get another chance to prove himself obviously his face didn't fit west Brom and wolves watching him.

Nige said awhile back that Britton doesn’t have the physically as yet to push for a first team place and that he lacks enough games playing competitive mens matches.

Since then things have obviously changed if Britton is trialling in Ireland. Maybe he’s been released?……….:dunno:

All I know is last season he battered two Brentford defenders and scored a goal ?

Shoutout to the fella in the away end with a Gas flag.

“Yeah, you know what I’ll take a Bristol Rovers flag in and show them”

    Tadaaaa??

And the silly ***** wiping his ass in our Robins flag 1.0 up then went in to a coma whilst we banged in three .

Taken from Cardiff forum where they are calling this out as disgusting, apparently Cardiff directors had to apologise and will be sent the bill.

    Bristol toilets smashed

I've just got back from the Bristol game, and I'm pretty disappointed. Not just in the result, but in the actions of a group of idiots who thought it was okay to completely demolish the gents toilets in the away end. I hoped our fans were better than that.
Sinks and pipes were ripped off the walls, the suspended ceiling was brought down, with metal rods, insulation and broken tiles everywhere, the electric wiring was ripped out and hanging down - it looked like a bomb had gone off in there. What sinks were still intact were overflowing, as the plugholes were blocked and the taps forced open. There was water everywhere.
Okay, some will say it's just fun and games, but if someone did this to our away end, you'd never hear the end of it. It was appalling behaviour, and whoever did it should be ashamed. Rant over.

The only result the Welsh scum got today battered on and off the pitch .

I’m feeling I’m in the minority here, but I’m not convinced on him… yet.

Their second goal looked saveable at the time, and having watched the footage back I would hope he could have done a little better. The ball seems to take an eternity to go in. He seems to also be a bit rooted to his line when crosses come in.

Flip side of it is that he does look very comfortable with the ball at his feet, and can drill the ball with seemingly far more accuracy than Bentley. Plus he has a good long accurate throw out as well. This seems to suit how we want to play better than Bentley’s slow delivery and inevitable long high punt.

In summary… I’m not sure who I’d pick moving forwards (unless Bentley is sold). But certainly don’t think it’s as easy as saying one is clearly better than the other when they each have merits and weaknesses.

Yes agree both got faults Bentley rooted to his line good shot stopper was disappointed with their second but think Max edges it .

Be nice if we could get this lad in and ship out COD and maybe get some money for him. To me COD has undoubted ability but only ever plays well for about 45 mins every 2 or 3 games.

    League one player at best
