A proper bench, save for goalkeeper. This is as good as we can expect at the level we are at.
COYR.First match for 5th generation City supporter on his 6th birthday. 73 years since his grandfather first saw City play. Something like a century and a quarter and more since his great great grandfather saw his first game. Covering three centuries and we have been, and will be, CTWD. He has travelled from West Sussex to Ashton Gate.
If you see an excited little boy in City shorts and shirt that will be him.
Hope, and expect, he will see City win

The cost of the other clubs be quite neutral, Rugby let alone Basketball doesn't have any kind of major cash input.
Doesn't make much money either of course and that is the issue, the cost of acquisition. By far the biggest drain proportionally is the Football in terms of necessary Owner Contribution, but of course it has the highest revenue and growth potential too.
Agree, but who wishing to buy a football club would buy us with all that goes with BS. Plenty of much more straightforward options

Can’t compare as we have the albatross of BS around our necks, thanks to the Lansdowns

The difference last night was the choices Manning had from the bench. Getting nearer to having a full Championship squad.
Plus, Manning used those choices with precision and success.
Well done all.

Fantastic pass and well taken goal.
This is City at their imperial best

Poor performance by our fans, being out sung by Saints fans
Come on City, team and fans
-
COYR, put them to the sword second half

It will take a super human effort to return to championship football after all this time out, not even taking into account recurring injuries

Can tell you right now if big Nige was in charge it would of been the perfect performance but for some reason this wasn’t and needed calling out
The reason is obvious JL& BT over promised. Thus some expect more than is likely to be delivered.
I remain a huge fan of Nige but now feel that Manning is doing the same as Nige, ie attempting to make silk purses out of sows’ ears. If Manning keeps us up, as I anticipate he will, he will have achieved what Nige would have done. No more, no less.
There is unlikely to be improvement unless we stop selling our best players and invest in some quality ones. We could have Klopp as manager and it wouldn’t make much of a difference to where we end up this season,

Wonder if Twine will be fit, Mehmeti and Bell put in a big shift against forest, so may need Twine and adire as replacements.
Word is Twine is not fit

Oh, I hope for a proper Board and a manager rather than a head coach, plus a good CEO..
IMO when we had Gould and Nige we were two thirds there. I had real hope at the time, and momentarily forgot it was SL and JL calling the shots, with BT in the background biding his time to strike.
We desperately need a reset, not on the pitch, but in the Boardroom.

One positive action to take would be to go through any relevant material held byBristol Museum Service
A few years ago I visited the museum , down on the docks, and saw a picture of Ashton Gate, circa late 19th/early 20th century, described as a football match. It clearly was not, given the large numbers of women present. As an historian I wrote politely suggesting they check their labelling. They didn’t even answer my letter. So, if they have other City related material it should be permanently lent to our museum where it will be correctly recorded and viewed by fans.

Great effort and performance.
Now let’s get 3 points on Saturday

In goal
Yes, but obviously not the part the ball went in!

Less convinced we shall avoid a relegation fight than I was when Manning was appointed. Recent run of results are relegation form. Yes, we should avoid the drop given the strengthened squad but that depends on
1. Manning getting his tactics right
2. Tinnion not interfering in selection and tactics
3. The players continuing to support the manager and each other.

I agree about the lack of training of those at the top of the club in the basics of good management. This is becoming an embarrassment for the club. I have said for years now that when appointing staff, including managers and players, they need to bring in professional advisers, and my old chestnut that we need an independent audit of club management.
it is frankly unbelievable that a company as large as it is is run so amateurishly

The problem is whose plan it is. Not Nige’s not Manning’s but JL, no firsthand experience, and BT, hardly an outstanding record as a coach or manager, and promoted way above his natural level.

Doesn't it put things into perspective when we have owners that have invested over what 25 years and we've achieved league 1 champions and papa freight rover cup thingy (what ever it's called ) win at wembley it's not exactly great but we established ourselves in the championship.
No , no, no. Face the truth for a city and hinterland the size of Bristol, with a solid fan base, we should have done far better over last two decades and more. Top 6, Europe in how many years was it. It is plain pathetic

Stubbornness is seemingly coming across quite a lot with LM.
If so, stubbornness is a dangerous trait for any manager in any scenario. Ability to change is vital for all good managers.

The future we all wish for will never come with present owners and arguably not whilst we are under the ludicrous BS umbrella.
i am now reconciled to never again in my lifetime, aged 78, seeing City play in top flight. Much more likely see them play in equivalent of old division 3 South

Definitely, and I think, but no evidence, he saw game before that before we we were officially set up in 1894, probably Bedminster.. What I do know he was at our Cup Final.
