Club: We’re bringing someone in to spend more time on the grass
Someone: We don’t spend any time on the grass
We don’t even have 100% grass

Can we just stop with the irrelevant commercial circus surrounding each matchday?
For example
- Messing around with the kit;
- Back slapping on being progressive with the choice of ball/flags/armbands;
- The endless commemorations/x th minute silences/clapping.
and just all FOCUS on getting the Bristol City starting and ending 11 players to score more goals than the opposition each matchday?
Too much to ask?
/rant
Not a rant imo.
Just a sensible observation

The die is set.
Does anyone, other than the mighty duo, believe Manning will take us up in three years, or thirty?
what added stupidity to give such an unproven manager such a long contract

I certainly wouldn't write him off yet, he obviously needs more time in the U21's plus some coaching before he's ready again. I remember thinking Semenyo wasn't that good when he first came into the team and Scotty had some poor games early on, he obviously did well at City's academy so can't be as rubbish as people on here are making out.
You say he needs some coaching before he is ready. I agree completely. Sadly though he’s come to the wrong club at the wrong time for that

Mehmeti did zero today which pretty much sums up his time at the club. We will never progress with players of his calibre.
We have had too many wingers of his type over the years who have pace but lack a football brain

A lack of consistency has been a problem for the last few seasons. It's certainly not new or unique to Manning that we look like we've made progress and then pull a terrible game out of nowhere, then go on a run of defeats and draws before pulling off a win when we least expect it. Ultimately Manning needs to solve it if he is going to succeed here but it's certainly not a problem of his creation.
The difference being that on paper he has a far stronger squad

I never understand why any City fan would want a City manager sacked.
Because we would like to have hope. Hope is what Nige gave us, Manning is beginning to give me the opposite.
PS. My original post was also a little tongue in cheek, because it is a truism for 90% of ‘managers’.

Out of the mouths of babes. My 6 year old grandson summed it by saying ‘they tried their best’. I think that is called damning with faint praise

Pity the football didn’t match the kit

Don’t ask me, ask those paid to find the answer

What do people think?
I thought it was rather mealy mouthed. Should show more self awareness. Sadly I feel he has a long way to go to be a head coach of atop Championship side, and I had really hoped he was learning fast, re tactics and man management. Now, as I say, a way to goon both

Poor decision by Manning. Could set his whole career back. A boy amongst men
-
As said at start of thread that was my 6 year old grandson’s first game. Last one too if he has any sense!
Let’s be clear we will make no progress up to top flight without top flight quality manager (not Head Coach), who is then supported by positiveinterested owner with funds.
That is how we did it under Alan Dicks.
We had one piece of this trinity in place at beginning of season. We now have no pieces in place.
What of our famous Pillars, how many of them don’t lie in ruins.

In answer to original question - no longer care. A reset relegation might even be an option!?!

That was…… not the best start for him. The entire team were garbage though and clearly weren’t up for the game.
You are right when you say ‘weren’t up for the game’
So my question is whose fault is that?
Only one answer - Manning

On paper, that was the strongest XI and bench we’ve had since the LJ era. How the hell that translates to a shocking performance like that, I don’t know.
Answer: Coaches. Failed to prepare a proper game plan, failed to change said plan when it didn’t work, failed to get players up for it, failed to take advantage of half time for a successful blasting.
No excuses. Players available far far better than Nige had. Sorry but feel Nige would have got more out of them. They certainly didn’t seem to be playing for current Head Coach.
Hopefully wheels can be put back on the waggon, but it is a very worrying day at the office

Poor performance by a top 6 side !
Will we ever be a force in this league ?
Good players become poor when coming to Ashton Gate
Sorry, but Manning and coaches must take a great deal of the blame today for putting out such a lacklustre team and failing to change game. No quality, no ideas, but worse no fight.

Why do we fans put ourselves through this season after depressing season
Wake them up Manning and earn your corn. No excuses. This isn’t the Nige or Cotts era where we didn’t have enough players.
Sort yourself and the players out Manning or you are back in the fans’ doghouse

Bring back Nige and the kids I say, only half jokingly
-
Same old problem. No striker.
Why if fans can see it did we do nothing to change that in transfer window
-
So so City.
So so poor
Don't look as tho they care if they win or lose
Dock their pay at half time unless they turn this round
