Rotherham are down but in name. That leaves two places to go. Suspect Huddersfield won’t make it, but suspect Sheffield will. So we do need a win tomorrow so as we can breathe more easily. What worries me most, other than our failure in front of goal, are the things coming from Manning. Thus my message to the players in front of a home crowd is: PLAY FOR THE SHIRT, and give everyone something to get behind. Hope in that context James may be fit enough.

After Manning’sPress Conference I have an awful feeling I know the answer

He’s been our manager for 4 months.
Results in that time certainly haven’t been great, so I don’t think how the under 18s play is really a big priority for him at present.
He is not the manager. He is the Head Coach of the first team

I just said elsewhere, it's pretty much the perfect opponent for us. Early in LMs reign I would have been confident but we have clearly regressed somewhat reverently.
Just love your use of the word ‘somewhat’

If you remember back to when Nige arrived he expressed concern about players’ fitness. We seem to be slipping back into old ways under Manning. I really don’t like the sidelining of the Academy players under Manning. Worried re summer recruitment, as should he still be here, god forbid; will we recruit, as in the recent past, too many have been’s and never will be’s.

You've missed nothing but more of the same: anything remotely positive about anything BCFC seems to signify that you must be BS/gas/troll/deluded.
Oh no not riding that old hobby horse again

Re the title of this thread.
It isn’t the only thing about Bristol City that doesn’t work

Simply the wrong guy.
He must at some level know this himself
He must go and by next Monday if not sooner

Do you really think any of those would make up for our failing manager?

Imagine.
Imagine we’d not lost the last three and we’d gone to second in the league and matched them for most of the game. There wouldn’t be any real negativity. The negativity, quite understandably, is driven by wider factors. But tonight, in isolation, wasn’t horrific.
I think until we went ahead Manning got it spot on. The first half was boring as hell, but contained them. This led to frustration from Ipswich and we reacted well - we could have been two up easily. What was totally noticeable though is how much better we were when attacking at pace. Real lesson there.
I do go with that after we went ahead that McKenna managed the game better than Manning. Our second was great but a bit against the run, and not even making a disruptive sub when things were drifting last ten is a big no no.
I said pre match that what happened changed nothing. It really doesn’t. It was better, but similar concerns remain. If Liam was a 4 last three games he’s a 7 tonight. But the aspects that drive that grade down are still there.
Not hanging him in isolation and 2/3 good tonight. But it’s still not enough.
Yes but in the real world we did lose the last three. Now number risen to four

But it's 1.09PPG since Liam arrived.
Fingers crossed for Sunday.
Fingers crossed won’t help

4 defeats in a row with poor defending. Do we have a defensive coach. Surely not Mountain as Manning seemed to be saying a few days ago
Manning really has to stop this run of defeats and very very soon
I was hoping when it went 2-1 we would at least take a point
I remain unconvinced by Manning. The players rose to Sky cameras perhaps?
