Terrible game but expected as nothing on it and joke formation first half.

No idea why JWP not in squad and Henderson continues to play

Far from the worse player on the pitch for me, awful game but 3 points and we’re already through

    Spot on.

I thought his re-appearance from inside a cupboard or wherever he’s been for months was significant.

Basically once Tinnion & JL decided to remove the entire Pearson coaching set up, him & Pat Mountain were all that remained.

As you rightly say, our last European signing was in the summer of ‘22, so what’s on earth has he been doing since? Watching games of football in Europe to no purpose.

Where do I apply for that (non) job?

Not a memorable one by any means but we signed Haikin in January

It doesn’t matter who we employ, if we keep selling our best players we'll be going nowhere fast.

Not being funny but any good team in this league will sell their best players. All the prem teams coming down will, Brentford did and kept improving, Luton sold a lot of players who were deemed too good for them and kept progressing. Obviously helps keeping your best players, but there are examples

  4. Some of the comments on this thread are ridiculous. I get the frustration about Pearson leaving but seeing people write him off because they don’t know anything about him is unfair. He fits the brief of what the club wants in terms of style of play and has plenty of top class academy experience. If we are willing to spend so much on compensation then we must be convinced he’ll be the right man

  5. I think people are getting ahead of themselves, can’t see things happening this quickly if it’s Manning. I really like him though and think he’d be a great appointment, I get he doesn’t have the experience but as we’re seeing with other managers in previous years experience isn’t exactly key to do well

No he said we haven’t spent hardly any money and sold our best player, can’t argue with that

I don’t disagree with that but he’s also gone a massive rant about owners getting the big names assuming we’re going to get Lampard

    Paul Merson is spot on!

It’s not very often I say Merson’s bang on the money, but today he is 👏🏻. We are a national basket case, and it is all about ego. Lansdowns out.

Merson is spot on here. Perhaps didn’t articulate himself very clearly, but his point is totally accurate.

Morrison showing he hadn’t done his homework at all.

Have I watched the same interview? Merson has just put 2 and 2 together to make 5. He’s just had a go at the Lansdowns just for something they haven’t done and just going off the bookies

  8. I get very frustrated seeing the stick he gets, kicking isn’t the best but he is one of the best keepers I’ve seen at City for commanding his area, third highest save percentage in the league. Some people refuse to give him credit and bash him for something that’s probably not his fault, I really rate him though

Rumours or not, for the injury list to rise from 6 to 8 after an International break is quite something.

Naismith and Williams joined the list ahead of the Coventry game and were not on International duty so that can't be attributed either.

While McCrorie, Tanner, Atkinson, Vyner, Benarous all remained out and were medium to long term.

Wells was injured at Leeds and remained so.

Definitely backs up what @Bcfcshags was saying around why Rennie went.

Is this the same Frank Lampard that is reportedly a very poor man manager, that blanked many senior Chelsea pros, tried to sell Rudiger in a January window as he was deemed not good enough. The same Lampard that split the Chelsea dressing room. Whoopee can't wait.

I wouldn’t read much into this as it’s not the first time that’s happened at Chelsea

Lampard is exactly the sort of appointment the Lansdowns would make

Remember when Johnson was sacked Gregor spoke a lot about how Lansdown was such a big admirer of Gerrard when he was at Rangers. So by that it seems plausible

He's generally not rated that highly by fans of other clubs if you look around either.

Stoke and Birmingham forums or some others on didn't think he had made any great impact on here.

A poll by that podcast with Dilks and Peach had a poll on Pearson and made for interesting reading. Presumably a cross section of fans across clubs.

Wouldn’t take that as golden, knowing their podcast’s view on him it wouldn’t surprise me if they created 500 fake accounts and voted no

  13. 14 hours ago, Mr Popodopolous said:

Birmingham in turn sacked a guy who has won a localish derby v West Brom 3-1 and were 6th or close to, for a "big name".

Some shocking owners around, sadly I didn't think we usually made senseless sackings but we appear to have joined such clubs. (Thinking more us and Birmingham).

The Pearson sacking is harsh obviously but I don’t think it’s half as bad as that Birmingham decision. One thing you have to remember, Pearson was one of two managers to have lasted 2 years before he was sacked THAT speaks volumes on how impatient owners are in the second tier

That's fine but they weren't really improving our squad, just replacing players that left.

We needed that and to enhance our squad.

Dickie is an improvement on what he had, obviously jury out on McCrorie but in terms of the level he was playing at he looks an improvement on Wilson. Knight and Roberts I get but don’t think they’d be far off who they came in for (that’s a huge credit to Knight btw)

  15. 41 minutes ago, Atticus said:

Shocked at the way he defended our recruitment and how our squad is good enough. It's such blatent horseshit and to think we'd feed into it is astonishing.

And the use of the word head coach. Ugh this is just a ******* vicious cycle were going through isn't it.

In regards to the signings I think they’ve proven to be good ones. Dickie and Knight have been impressive, TGH we’re starting to see the best out of, Roberts we’ve not seen the best of but only young and it’s a free transfer anyway and McCrorie we can’t judge yet as what’s happened with him is such a rare thing

You can protest against the board and support the team at the same time surely?

4 minutes ago, One Team said:

Yep, pretty much what I was saying earlier in the thread.

I get that, but point was more around boycotts and doing stuff during games. For me we’ve got to get behind the players (probably reduced squad as it was the other games over the week)

  17. Just now, One Team said:

They aren’t mutually exclusive though are they? Anti-Lansdown protesting and supporting the team can happen on Saturday.

Well there are people planning boycotting, before and after the game I’m fine with but during the 90 minutes I feel we need to support the team

Let’s hear them. Yea or no to who you would want out of these and add any more. Let’s keep them realistic though…not people like Graham Potter!

    John Eustace - yes

    Gary Rowett - no

    Dean Smith - no

    Nathan Jones - no

    Michael Beale - maybe

    Steve Bruce - no

    Scott Parker - no

    Liam Manning - yes

    Steven Schaumacher - yes

    Ryan Lowe - maybe

How in any way is the bottom two realistic?
