Don't quite get why we are loaning Leeson out to Conference North for a month. But putting a 17 year old under 18 RB on the bench?
A number of the under 21s seem a little persona no grata for the 1st team squad at the moment (Marlee Francois?).
Instead we have players like Nelson and James that are only just in the under 18s?
Because Leeson needs senior men’s football and with respect he’s not getting over TGH or Sykes there let alone when Tanner and McCrorie are back. Francois isn’t there because he’s a forward and if Mehmeti isn’t getting any game time with the squad we have then he won’t either.
The James and Nelson inclusions were strange to me but Tinnion would’ve put them up to it and I trust him when it comes to academy players
-
Mehmeti has been awful when he’s played this season, I’d have given him a go and think the Yeboah sub was good so would’ve still done that. Conway didn’t deserve to play the full 90 for me, personally would’ve brought him on and moved Cornick central

Without trying to upset anyone with their personal views, what are peoples views on todays moments silence?
I’m personally struggling to see what positive impact it had on the situation, there seems to be more and more moments of silence/applause for situations that the club are not affected by, or have any impact over.
In the past it would had been for when a legend had passed away, a chairman etc.
It’s absolutely dreadful what is happening on both sides of the conflict, Wouldn’t for example a bucket collection for aid for both sides, of been better?
There were a few shouts today when it happened also, which wouldn’t help when people can have such strong differing views on the conflict.
I don’t mind it, 60 seconds and it’s been collectively agreed so I see no reason why not to participate. I however don’t have a lot of time for people heckling which I heard today (believe it was from the Coventry end).

Sheaf looked decent for them, lacked a bit of end product this lad.
Yeah I like him a lot, their right wing back gave Pring a lot of trouble aswell

Thought he looked a very good player for Coventry today, very agile and creative player. Hadn’t heard much of him before but I was delighted when he was subbed off!

If I’m honest, I don’t mind the lack of contract negotiations. We’re still at the start of an important season, as much as I think Pearsons doing a good job we can’t rush into it.
Where I am annoyed is the questioning of the managers starting 11 by the hierarchy, especially when Andy King is a very well respected player at the club

I personally disagree that we were second best never mind comfortably. Yeah we were mostly pretty poor but Rotherham are easily the worst team we’ve played against this season, they were as bad as us if not worse. Great report otherwise though!

There are a few that will watch just because it`s not the CL and of course 50,000 s*gs hoping we get stuffed - it`s the most important game of the week for them.
Don’t be ridiculous, not a chance they have that many fans

Only this club would have a meltdown for signing a third choice keeper as temporary cover…

That's the sort of thing that constant lack of communication and disconnect with the fanbase. from a football club will breed over time.
With all due respect club won’t ever announce the reason, like with most cases. Reason is probably between the board and Alexander, which is also what happens in most jobs in and out of football

Do we know for sure that this is true? Or is it just murmurs between fans? Timing just seems weird

So you’re not even willing to acknowledge the possibility that there was contact with the player, from behind, before contact with the ball - therefore making it at the very least a debatable decision?
No, he’s won the ball clearly, yes he’s got his leg round him but that should never ever be given as a penalty especially from where the ref is positioned

Should score, hit it low right or into the roof of the net & keepers got no chance. He hit it low left and enabled the good save. Nicely chested down though.
Easier said than done, with the keeper closing him down and a defender right next to him it’s hard to score

My main thought after watching that....
If Knight's is a foul to have his goal disallowed, then Sykes is fouled too. Very little difference apart from a shit Ref will usually give the defender the benefit on those.
The bloke is not fit for purpose.
Main difference for me is refs give certain fouls anywhere on the pitch other than when it would be a penalty kick. Happens so many times with so many different referees

Sorry to hash this one out again, but hopefully others will have had opportunities to pass tickets on by now.
I know I need to get another person to link with my account in order to borrow a ticket but my question is once linked can I send two tickets on my account to one person? Thanks.Haven’t tried but I know you can have two under the same Bristol Sport account so forwarding them to the same account is surely doable?

Whole midfield was outstanding. Williams didn’t stop running and used the ball well, James does the basics unbelievably well and always in the right position and Knight was excellent carrying the ball forward and creating chances but also had the intelligence to keep the ball and stop them from putting sustained pressure on

'boro currently 0-2 down at home to QPR, bottom of the table 0 - 1 - 4 and a -8 GD. Will they pull the trigger on Carrick this early in the season?
Think he’s still in credit but that attack massively carried them last season didn’t they? Munoz of Sheffield Wednesday could go with their utterly bonkers expectations this season

Hello Steve
This isn’t because I agree or disagree with your opinion on Lansdown, it’s just there’s no way an adult would willingly call him such a childish name

I struggle with this a bit Dave.
Surely, it's his squad within the budget available to him? All managers have to compromise.
I acknowledge it was a rebuild in terms of highly paid deadwood and a cultural issue.
But he also inherited Scott, Semenyo, Pring, O'Leary, Conway and the HPC.... not bad!
He's spent something like 10m on his players, some for fees, some for free, and they're his recruits, who play his version of 4-3-3, trained by his coaches.
Inheriting a mess, along with young talent, was always part of his remit, which he was aware of.
In my opinion, expectations are the variable here ie what do we expect him to achieve in this scenario?
I can’t agree with the highlighted personally:
Scott and Conway made their first squad in Pearson’s first match, he deserves huge praise in developing them into the players they are now.
Pring was injured when Pearson arrived and made his debut under him (may not have made a squad but not 100% sure) over the last two years he has massively improved under Pearson.
O’Leary backup to Bentley but got given chances, 21/22 he wasn’t ready but last season he showed huge signs of improvement.
Semenyo admittedly was making strides under Holden but what got him his prem move was his improvement with his end product undoubtedly

I wonder if Steve is fed up with the money he has given to Nigel who has wasted it on Rubbish players and said that’s enough until the next bloke walks through the door next season
The only money he’s probably given him is the funding from Semenyo, where a lot of that was spent this summer

I’m seeking some genuine clarification via this post please.
As it happens yesterday the forum was unavailable then today it’s full of rumours and conspiracies about the demise of Nigel Pearson.
These are the two primary questions I have, what has happened and why has it happened now?
I’m aware that some people have linked the failure to secure Adam Murphy and the fact that LJ is now unemployed to the rumors that NP is to be shown in the door, but I really don’t get it and would appreciate anybody helping me to do so.
In a nutshell when IMO he has done such a solid job in creating a sustainable and professional culture, cut the wage bill, recruited wisely and on a limited budget, developed young players, and so on, would we ever want to replace him with somebody else? The only explanation I have to why this would happen would be if he didn’t want to continue when his current contract expires.
Perhaps I am missing the point big time but I would really appreciate any insights into why these rumors are so rife at this particular time.
Thank you in anticipation.
Think it’s a big overreaction regarding last night. We weren’t great going forward but it’s a cup game against another Championship team and those results are always a bit of a freak (bit like when we hammered a West Brom team who were in excellent form).
