  1. Good for him, I’ve never understood how who someone loves or is attracted to makes any difference to anybody apart from them. I see lots of high profile players and clubs have reached out to him offering solidarity and congratulations which is both nice to see and also a little sad that it’s still necessary in this day and age and is a reminder that taking the knee is taking a stand against any form of discrimination rather than as a separate political statement

But now it’s out in the open what I’m more interested in is, is he any good although we seem fairly well stocked for left backs at the moment

Why do these "entitled to stand where they want" fans so often chose to move into an area of the stand where there are obviously not enough spaces for them and as you say just before or after kickoff?

I had that yesterday and ended up with people stood in front of me in my row, no stewards to be seen for the entire game despite the stairs being completely blocked with people

  3. I don’t mean stereotype a certain type of fan but at the back behind the goal we’re lots of younger teenage supporters where lots of the chanting was coming from.Although there was zero stewarding in that area as i even had people stood in front of me in the same row which is ridiculous and the exits were completely blocked with people and i also saw a few beer bottles in that area too

I would add at one point they were waving around a half broken seat, where it came from I’ve no idea but one brainless individual after waving it over their head decided to throw it towards those in front

As has been said before a lot of these don’t regularly attend away games

  4. Absolutely can’t speak for what goes on behind the scenes but i like to get in the ground early and watch the warm up and even to my uneducated eye it looked like Simpson and Fleming were essentially doing the same thing so guess it was only a matter of time

I wish him well for the future and hopefully he remains healthy and comes back into the game in some capacity

  5. I kinda think the manner of how tonight ended will be a turning point we’ll look back in months and years to come, maybe it had to happen like this to give us the mental toughness we need

Given how little fight there was Saturday there was clearly a reaction tonight so we clearly do have players and management that care but the reality is we’re a work in progress and playing at home at the moment is becoming more of a confidence thing and the players are almost expecting something like tonight to happen

Yes, we surrendered etc etc. But the referee tonight. What a clown. Clear pen denied us, yes clear and a handball for their winner. Clear again.

Not making excuses, just stating the fact that the ref has had a Weston Super.

All plain to see on Skysports highlights too.

Absolutely if and with us it’s always a big if we score the penalty it’s 2-0 and a totally different game then maybe we’d have looked more comfortable

Whilst I'm happy for their fans getting rid of Ashley who feels like he ripped the soul out of the club I'm always on the fence with capital from Saudi Arabia with their human rights issues.

Would this soul be regularly getting gates of 17,000 before Keegan turned up and was allowed to spend big to stop him having a hissy fit and walking out which eventually happened anyway?

Their fans seem to like rewriting history and playing the victim, there seems to be a reason why they haven’t won anything for donkeys years and it’s not Ashley..

  8. I really don’t get the narrative of how Newcastle fans have been so badly treated and how they deserve so much more, it just seems they’re happy paying £300-400 for a season ticket and expect the owner to pay multi millions every season whereas he seems to have tried to run them to be sustainable with the odd PR disaster thrown in

They’re currently where they deserve, Bruce might not be everyone’s cup of tea but he’s kept them there despite their so called support while they continue playing the victim

That’s a very strange thing to say.

Maybe they weren’t close? Maybe Martin was sensible enough not to get hammered?Maybe his partner picked him up from this event, if he was even there?

Martin played virtually every game in the season before he joined us (38, scoring 12) so this incident certainly didn’t impact upon his season.

Not sure this sort of supposition is wise.

Was more referring to claims like these from the Derby side, it makes no difference to me whether he was involved or not but this interview does kinda prompt more questions than answers and maybe he’d have been better advised not to say anything or leave it to his book

The major player in this tale, the 'funtime' purveyor, was a recently retired 'Del Boy', Derby player. They also weren't so drunk as to realise they needed to save their own necks, the arrogance being they lived walking distance from the pub yet always chose to drive under whatever influence. They legged it to one player's gaff to 'decontaminate', change gear (every pun intended,) and then arrogantly DROVE back to the crash to see if Keogh had made it out. Some friends eh?

You can also see why the locals weren't enamoured with them.

What was interesting though was he listed those who he knew who his friends are but there’s no mention of our current number nine..

  11. The interesting part for me is he wasn’t the only passenger and so his only crime was not wearing a seatbelt and getting injured. It was always made out it was only the three of them involved whereas it sounds like there was more than that and it got swept under the carpet. Also doesn’t look like the team building exercise was very successful for them to all run off and leave him

I think this deserves its own thread for us all to share our stories and experiences of the burger joint … hard to believe it was there at all… surely a plaque to commemorate it is needed !!

Is that the one before it was closed was called the great British hamburger? And everything was served on plates

  13. Have seen the penalty back as was at the other end and it’s very soft and can’t quite decide if it’s even in the area or not. Was annoying as it was just when we were getting on top and then fell apart after that would most likely have been a 0-0 game otherwise  but they say these things even themselves out over the season so maybe that’s repaying they qpr luck we had

Didn’t even realise Wells had dropped out as the game was crying out for him to come on and instead we got a Palmer off night
