  1. Not sure that's the reason but stand to be corrected. The clubs agreed to the change back in June (were the egg chasers fixtures even out then).
  2. A bit of what you're on please. I take it that's three 1-0 wins and two 0-0 draws. We've scored 10 goals in 11 games and 7 of those came in 3 matches.
  3. How good does that make us look then. Scraped past Rotherham with two late goals. Beat Wednesday by a solitary goal after they were reduced to ten men and looked no better than QPR in a dismal game.
  4. Handball would have been extremely harsh. Ball hammered at him as he slid across to block. From my view wasn't even convinced that it hit his hand/arm.
  5. No blame from me on Cornick ( I am one of the few that can see what he brings to the team ) he just got a bit carried away with his run. He could actually have just wellied the ball goalwards a bit earlier as the keeper was 'all at sea' and in no mans land. And I was referring to our late chances where we could have 'nicked' a point. Anyway as you say, let's hope for a win Saturday.
  6. I didn't say it did, I said we should be more than just 'hopeful' against these sort of teams if we want to be competing amongst them. There are probably 8 teams with a bigger financial advantage than us but we have been told we should be competing at the top end of the table, rather than just 'hoping' to.
  7. I was there too last night and agree with your assessment of the game, why you have to then spoil it with a rant about fans being aggrieved that NP has gone and your use the word Messiah demeans the rest of your post imo. As for the improvements in the three players you mentioned since early season, you conveniently forget that Tanner was out injured for the early part of the season and TGH was covering at RB. Obviously once they returned to their natural positions and TGH got up to speed playing in midfield they improved (although Tanner still looks as good as he did last year, no great improvement). As for Mehmeti he looks no better now than he did in his cameo sub appearances under the 'Messiah.'
  8. But if the expectation (of the board) is top 6 we should be more than just 'hopeful' against this kind of side. We played well enough to come away with a point, despite a poor second half. Despite the second half, if Cornick crosses to Knight, one pace / step earlier or Mehmeti doesn't fall over his own feet in the box we could and should have had a late equaliser.
  9. You must have been looking away quite a bit on Saturday, then. Because our goalkeeper kicked quite a few long balls to our 5' something winger who was marked by a 6' 4" defender. Also kicked long to a single player marked by three of theirs. Personally I was quite happy with Max kicking it out wide to Pring on the halfway line where we had a 50/50 chance of winning a throw, halfway up the pitch. Yes he overhit a few but I would much rather that than see us taking stupid risks at the back (see their first goal Saturday). And we didn't always play it long, Max for the past couple of seasons has also played a large number of short balls to Vyner / Dickie / Naismith, each game.
  10. I nearly did the same earlier, but pulled back just in time . Always been a bit suspicious of three peaps since one of them 'won' the free season ticket a few seasons ago. If you listen carefully to the post Cardiff podcast Matt W definitely knew something was 'going down.' He didn't seem altogether shocked at the news later in the day on their second podcast.
  11. Stopped listening to three peaps even though it used to be my preferred City podcast. Matt definitely spouting the 'party' line.
  12. Obviously missed it elsewhere but why is Pring unavailable?
  13. You said we didn't have a consistent game plan. We did. It took 2 years to evolve via moving players on etc and couldn't always be executed due to injuries (Sykes having to play RB for example), but we had a plan and a way of playing.
  14. Boro H last season was better than this season imo.
  15. What sort of progress were you expecting? We were 8th a few days before he was sacked and were carrying a shed load of injuries.
  16. We did. It's not my problem if you couldn't see it.
  17. What's not to like ? The total dirge of the first 35 minutes, Max's continuous poor kicking (finally resulting in us conceding a goal), unable to find a team mate with a simple pass, lack of movement to create space and give the man on the ball options, Vyners two howlers (got lucky first half). Shots on target included the 3 goals, mehmetis tame effort after a long run, Conway's miss, not exactly edge of the seat stuff. Complete lack of pressing (except Knight, who left a massive hole behind him each time), standing off watching them pick any pass they wanted, us not picking up runners etc. We all see it differently but I thought it was a poor performance/ game and was at least expecting to see a set game plan and more inventiveness after 2 weeks doing nothing else
  18. we never did hit long hopeful balls to Conway. We hit long balls into the channels for Bell and Sykes to run on to. How do you explain the number of long balls pumped up to Sam Bell by Max yesterday or are you choosing to ignore them?
  19. Totally agree. The crowd was just starting to get edgy and on the point of turning when TGH picked out that screamer. It returned at 2-2 with chants of,"JL is a w*****." We were woeful for 35 minutes imo.
  20. Or..if the crowd hadn't got on his back a couple of minutes earlier for going backwards, yet again. Nothing to do NP.
  21. Not sure I would agree that it was the most exciting game seen for years. We were shockingly poor for 35 minutes and not much better in the second half. Gone back to years gone by just standing off watching the player in possession pick any pass he likes. Thought Boro were as poor as us. Terrible game imo
  22. Agree about Pring, I think he has had a poor season so far by his own standards.
  23. Have to win these type of games to make top 6. Nothing short of an entertaining 2-0 win will do. If you don't believe me, ask John.
