VAR really killing my passion for football I have no team in the Prem so it shouldn't bother me as much as it should.....but it does we shouldn't be talking about decisions 3-4 days later on things
The laws don't help at all they need ripping up and re writing.

This game was my 1st visit to watch England. Was really looking forward to seeing some of our best players play. Also my sons first ever trip to Wembley. Finding our seats and seeing his face when he 1st saw the size of it was about as exciting as it got I'm afraid. The Mexican wave and paper aeroplanes were more exciting than the game.
Not one player for England stood out for me where I thought wow. I did get what Southgate said after that players won't always play to their maximum against these sort of teams, whilst a little arrogant. It's true. But why didn't he give other players a chance who haven't had many caps. They would've have been chomping at the bit to play and would've wanted to impress, also on a side note I thought Malta looked decent passed the ball around nicely, sadly for them they'd still be there now trying to score just had no end product.
Hoping to sort tickets for the game against Brazil so hopefully get to see a more exciting game.

He was superb that day. Personally I thought Phil Foden shaded it for MOM but he was a close second.
Yeah foden was good that night, i just felt for what I knew of Forden and my lack of knowledge of Lewis, Lewis impressed me alot

the kid is fantastic, I thought he was the best player for them against us, proper modern RB who slots into midfield.

If they abuse you by all means block them. I'd do the same. But if you block people just because they disagree with you it suggests you are not open to debate. An odd way to improve communication as Jon claimed he wants to do.
On here I will give a like to someone I disagree with if I think they have made their case well. Why on earth would I block them? I have to be open to the possibility that they might be right otherwise what's the point of debate?
It will be interesting to see whether Jon ever addresses the fans face to face. Would he have people escorted from the room if they disagreed with him?
Of course I get what you're saying, though I'm sure they get for more interaction then any of us do on here, and it must get a bit much at times, still well with in their rights to do what they want on their own social media channels. And communicate the right way ( which obviously they haven't done recently)
-
Don't get the problem really, if someone was talking about you somewhere and you didn't agree with what they were saying surely you have the right to block them for your own sake. Wether it's the truth or not doesn't give people the right to say some of the things I've seen.

Hogg’s playing career is interesting i5 looks like he was very highly regarded as a teenager (international appearances) but never really made it https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_Hogg
Yeah I hadn't realised he stopped so young i think injuries played a part. I do believe that people who didn't really make it at the highest playing level usually make better coaches.

Let’s hope we’re not 4 down at ht Saturday .
that would put the cat amongst the pigeons on here Saturday - carnageOf course that's the danger but I think if that was to happen criticism will be at the board more than likely, Hopefully we get a positive result Saturday and a god performance and then he has 2 weeks to really get his ideas over to the players....On a seperate thing I've just driven past the HPC and saw the team bus being packed up so he's only had yesterday and this morning with the players unless they plan to train somewhere in London.

Dunno if you’ve seen this one:
have you got the link for the pod you listened to, please.
Really interesting watch, always had an interest in coaching, good to see it all broken down in to parts, I think from the very early signs I've seen and heard we are in capable hands.

I've been listening to LM interview today on the official site and press conference he speaks very well, comes across like a genuine nice guy and fits everything we want in the head coach. I also Listened to the Podcast with his Assistant head coach Chris Hogg, He seems like a character and was talking about how they are more of a team (He didn't suggest this the interviewer did) along the lines of Howe and Tindall at Newcastle.....not for one minute suggesting that they will hit those heights. But I am exctited about this appointment. Obviously proof will be in the pudding.

Totally agree, I think people just find it easier to be negative around these appointments because the chances are highly likely he will fail and they can say see told you. Where as I would rather be positive and give the guy a chance.

Hey Everyone just wanted to check in with everyone and see how you are all doing? Football for me helps me massively with my mental health struggles, I've obviously seen lots of people talking and the backlash of losing Nigel Pearson, some of it in my opinion very over the top and unnecessary. It's not triggered me at all but just got me thinking how people have been affected by this last weeks events obviously there a numerous threads on the main page and a lot of the stuff I cant be assed to go through. But this page seems a bit more open and level headed.

Why is there so much talk about him being young and progressive like its something weve never done before? LJ and Holden were young and progressive. LJ dismantled one of the best teams we have had in 40 years and left Holden a bloated squad that could easily have got us relegated. Now we get to do it all again.... it doesnt fill me with any kind of excitement.
Slightly different in the fact that Manning has been a coach since he was 21, Been to lots of different countries, learnt lots of philosophies under lots of different coaches, Holden.....well Holden will never be a Number 1 he's a good coach and a good assistant, but that is it, Manning has improved MK Dons and Oxford and plays the sort of football we want i think it is a good fit. He will need time to get his views across. Sadly though if he loses the 1st couple people will be on his back.

Actually quite excited by this one, watched his Oxford side completely outplay a high-flying and difficult-to-play against Stevenage side. The football was fast and forward-thinking and they completely outclassed Stevenage. Gutted to see Pearson gone and what a job he did for the club however, drawing a line in the sand, we have the man with the skills Tinnion and most modern progressive clubs want. Let's give the man a chance, I look forward to hopefully seeing a more front-foot and attacking style of football Travelling to the game on Saturday and cant wait to get behind the team and new man in charge.
Completely agree, really looking forward to somebody new with new ideas, and a modern approach on it. Will 100% be behind him.

SACK THE BOARD
Genuine question i have a very tiny memory of when I was a kid the fans storming the pitch in around late 80's early 90's chanting for the board to be sacked can't remember the outcome, my question is how would this process work ? and what would then happen? (I know that's 2 Questions)

Hope Nige gets well soon and they've managed to get to the bottom of what is causing it.

That's the problem when the blame lays with you and you're asked to explain yourself, there really isn't much you can say that's going to change minds. Ultimately the board have messed up and now they're trying to spin it so it sounds like they haven't.
What Lansdown said sounds like utter lies and if its not then the club is being run piss poorly, which again, is down to the board.
Am I see is someone caught in the headlights as they're to blame and they're trying every angle to shift that blame, but after so many repeats of the same mistakes there really isn't anyone left to blame.
How have they messed up, they are privy to what goes on behind the scenes far more than we are. And we don't know they've messed up until the new person is appointed and he's given a period of time to get results, if he comes in and does well no one will have a problem if he comes in and we struggle then of course they messed up, as I said previously I loved Pearson what he stood for what he was trying to do. He has installed a great working environment.
I think even if they came out and told the truth the majority wouldn't be happy because nige has gone, its tough to take when someone you like goes.
One thing I will say though in order for this club to be successful I believe the lansdowns need to sale up and move on.

Gary O’Neil - VAR

It mainly comes down to common sense doesn't it really Look at the Wolves one against Man Utd when Onana clattered the wolves player that was a stonewall penalty. I've not seen the Newcastle pen from last night only seen a still picture of it. so can't comment on that to much but there have been handballs where the player cannot get his hand out of the way, so common sense should tell a qualified ref wether it be on the pitch or sat in a room that it shouldn't be given, but the rule changes mean they have to consider everything.
The offside thing is a tough one offside is offside of course but if VAR is used for clear and obvious errors how the hell is an on field linesman meant to know if a players toe nail is offside and if you need lines to decide that then its clearly not an error. I don't know what the answers are TBH. But the reasons i go to City and get passionate about it is for us to get to the top league and play some of the best teams in the world and ok people might say we wouldn't beat them anyway but, VAR is punishing teams unfairly and I would hate that to be city.
